For our Supporters we have now added a rather simple, but still very nice, feature as you can see on MyHT space now: Player categories.

As a Supporter you can give each of your players a category (for now, only fixed categories exist) and also sort your players after them. Hope you like it!

The sorting order is now saved in your profile every time you change the order in the dropdown.

There is some sort of bug in this feature. If I go to the players section at a team, that have their players sorted by this new feature, the players is now no longer sorted by the player number. It says so but this is not true. I believe they are sorted the way the owner sees he's players. :-)

Yep, we found it too late. It's already fixed, but you'll not notice any difference until our next code release (Thursday).

Would it be possible to add a checkbox like "use categories" instead of the option "sort by category"?

Perhaps, we'll see. That said we will have it sort by shirt number within the category, and last name if no shirt numbers excist.

As a manager of my own team, I like this feature.

As a manager of an NT, I am hopping MAD!!!!

Calm down. NT coaches and youth teams will get them too within some time.

Why would youth teams get categories, when players skills are unknown?

Because most of the time you figure out quite soon what they're best suited to play?

Why can't we create our own categories?

We do have an idea to make some statistics bases on categories in the future, or at least have the option to. If you could create categories yourself or have them all editable, it would be so much harder.

That said, there will most likely be some categories you will be able to edit, extra1/2 comes to mind. Today you can use them for "whatever need you got" so to say.
