Hi, I've added a Template:GFDL, more or less a copy of the same wikipedia template. I'm new to mediawiki, but I will try my best ;-) --CarlesMuñozGorriz 14:13, 27 November 2005 (UTC)
Nice one! I have also created a little template Template:Forum_message, that could be used when quoting a HT-forum message. I think we can adopt a lot of Templates from wikipedia, but I'm not sure where to start :) so if anyone has any idea or suggestion, please go on and talk! --duno7 14:44, 27 November 2005 (UTC)
Another new set of templates has been created: Template:Based_on_opinion, Template:Based_on_research, Template:Based_on_fact. They could be used on a number of articles, to help reader understand the nature of the article. Could this be useful, or is there a better way to do it? Please modify the templates as needed, to make them best looking, smarter, anything. --duno7 19:07, 28 November 2005 (UTC)
I imagine that we could use a Template:User voor the Userspace. Most information that goes under "More details about owner" on HT could be provided there as well. I'm not that an experienced wiki editor, but I'm willing to give it a try though. --Oligarf 11:23, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
I have started editing the World Cup pages. I will create some templates for this, starting from abbreviations for different national teams. Here's an example: Template:FINnf. The format will be FIFA 3-letter code, followed by n for national team or u for U-20 team, followed by f to inform that a flag is attached to the template. --jhattara 23:06, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
- I'm moving the templates to Template:Flag/CODX; with COD the 3 letters code and X been n (nation link) or nothing (only the flag). --carlesmu 09:36, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
Stub
We have a lot of stub pages. What abaut a stub-foo, I was thinking in stub-country, stub-region... --carlesmu 22:00, 27 November 2005 (UTC)
Yes it is a good idea indeed, so it makes it easier to know how to start writing on that article. Can they get you to an edit page where some text is already provided - they would be also a template, but not a parameter one but one that provides an skeleton? It would be a nice feature --duno7 16:26, 28 November 2005 (UTC)
Ideas
I have been trying to complete a similar Template to the Template:Qif on Wikipedia. This would implement the if-then-else operator, allowing the use of logic on some Templates and adding a great level of flexibility to the Wiki. I have replicated the Wikipedia templates system (Qif, Boolnot, Show1 and If are there), but for some reason, it does not work. If anyone wants to take a look at the issue, it would be much appreciated! --duno7 16:26, 28 November 2005 (UTC)
- I've been unluky, only the shown1 seems to work :-( --carlesmu 17:34, 28 November 2005 (UTC)
General Comments
Ok, I think on this wiki some work could be done regarding this issue. In my opinion the use a strong template system would increase the usability and maintainability of the wiki greatly, and by adopting it earlier some effects can be prevented. It might imply a lot of effort by some people at first, but I am sure everyone will benefit greatly in the long run. But I am no expert at templates, and I think it should take some discussion about it before going any further. So, if you have any ideas, you feel confident to take on this project or you have interest on this, please go on and make a comment! :) --duno7 19:17, 26 November 2005 (UTC)
