Mathematics tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Lineup: Danjian - Pagkalos, Kościółek, Yue Shun - Chong Wai, Xiaoping, Guan Hee, Va'aknin, Juh shiun - Kwong, Nota.

Seemingly due to lack of experience, Wilhelm Kościółek needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. In the 31st minute, the visitors nearly went up a goal, but Yu Kwong's free kick hit the crossbar. Mathematics appeared unsure on how to play and their organization was only solid. Down the middle came Li Guan Hee, making a fantastic play that nearly had Mathematics take the lead in the 34th minute, but Liu Bingyu preserved the tie. An opportunity to take the lead in the 35th minute was passed by as Mathematics's Yu Kwong missed a penalty, firing wide of the mark. There was a bit of a mixup on the field as Mathematics found themselves out of position and their organization level dropped to passable. Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Mathematics's Zhang Juh shiun somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for Yu Kwong, who struck for 1 - 2. In the 67th minute, Rickys's Qian Tze Ngan received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Tang Ling Lai was just a finger's breadth away from an equaliser for Rickys with a strike from the left, but Su Danjian managed to ward the closing shot off to a corner. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Mathematics, with an impressive 73 percent possession of the ball.

Rickys's top performer was clearly Tang Ming Teck. Zhou Chunjing turned in a dismal performance, however. Mathematics's best player was Zhang Juh shiun. Yu Kwong on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 1 - 2.
