MatchID: 112480800
Arena: FC Hajduki Arena
Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 3471 at FC Hajduki Arena today. Hajduki tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination. The following players took the field: Matysiak - Heydt, Tęsiorowski, Ciarkowski - Nawałka, Dombai, Berensztajn, Milinovič - Krasoń, Kecse, Savry.
Mathematics decided to use a 5-3-2 set up. The following players took the field: Hanen - Thien Hu, Xiaoping, Kościółek, Pagkalos,
Mason - Li Huei, Huai yong, Karkov - Kwong, Nota.
Hajduki clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. Mathematics clearly had decided to counter-attack when
they could. Slack defending gave Hajduki a chance to take the lead in the 10th minute, but András Kecse's cross from the left
flank was fumbled in front of the goal and easily dealt with by the opposition. The defensive line of Mathematics created a
counterattack that gave Vittorio Nota a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. Frédéric Savry's
name was chanted throughout the stadium after his 23rd minute goal up the middle gave Hajduki the 1 - 0 lead. Hajduki's András
Kecse was delighted to score the 2 - 0 goal after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper and into the
net, following some good attacking movement on the right wing in the 24th minute. Confident in their lead, Hajduki decided to
play a more defensive game at this point. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Hajduki's Włodzimierz Krasoń
putting the lead up to 3 - 0. In the game's 41st minute, Hajduki's Staszek Ciarkowski fell dramatically just outside the penalty
area. However, the referee booked Staszek Ciarkowski for diving. Cheers filled the stadium as Staszek Ciarkowski broke through
the visitors' central defence to put away the 4 - 0 goal for Hajduki. The teams went for the halftime break at 4 - 0. This half
belonged to Hajduki, who controlled the ball 82 percent of the time.
András Kecse gave Hajduki supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 5 - 0 after 52 minutes, following a
good exchange of passes on the right that the away team failed to deal with. In the 63rd minute of the match, the visitors'
central line of defence had to look on as Jakub Berensztajn dashed through, knocking home 6 - 0 for Hajduki. Martin Svantesson
was called on to replace Hajduki's Jakub Berensztajn in the 65th minute, after a nasty collision in the field. Hajduki added
another goal to their lead as András Kecse struck home the 7 - 0 goal after an attack from the left set him up unmarked in front
of the keeper. This third goal made a hat trick for András Kecse. In the game's 80th minute, Timo Heydt could have extended the
lead, but his very hard free kick went just over the bar. 83 minutes into the game, Vittorio Nota finished off a left wing
counter attack, scoring 7 - 1 for Mathematics. Hajduki put themselves up 8 - 1 when Włodzimierz Krasoń broke through on the
right, leaving the entire defensive box behind him. Hajduki held the ball, with a clear 88 percent of possession.
Most important Hajduki player was Włodzimierz Krasoń. Martin Svantesson turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important
Mathematics player was Huang Xiaoping. Liu Huai yong on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 8 - 1.
