Arena: [DDT] 新數皇大球場
5717 punters turned up at [DDT] 新數皇大球場, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Mathematics decided to use a 5-3-2 set up. Lineup: Sava - Thien Hu, Yue Shun, Kościółek, Pagkalos, Chong Boon - Juh shiun, Chong Wai, Chi hong - Li Seng, Karkov.
Hattrick_Patrick decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. The following players had been chosen: Jong Min - Cohen, Tze Sian, Míguez,
Gruduls - Daming, Piron, Darbellay, Staalenburg - Kai Tai, Bing De.
Mathematics clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could. Zhang Juh shiun suddenly found himself completely free on the
right wing, when a counterattack by Mathematics caught their opponents by surprise. Only a great save by the opposing keeper
prevented him from scoring. In the 16th minute, an unfortunate play by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but
Loh Kai Tai, finding himself alone with the keeper, was unable to take advantage of the situation. Hattrick_Patrick had several
good opportunities to take the lead, especially in the 32nd minute when Virxilio Míguez came up alone against Dan Sava who
managed a block. Uri Cohen of Hattrick_Patrick received a yellow card in the 33rd minute for unsportsmanlike behaviour. A great
pass from the defensive line of Mathematics resulted in a counterattack that was smoothly dealt with by Omiros Pagkalos in the
centre of the opposition's penalty area, but his finish went high. In the 39th minute, Hattrick_Patrick's Bengt Staalenburg
received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. 0 - 0 was the score after the first half. Hattrick_Patrick held
the ball, with a clear 76 percent of possession.
Dan Sava looked great in the 52nd minute after stopping a shot by the visitors' Ping Daming. Hattrick_Patrick took the lead in
the game's 56th minute, scoring the 0 - 1 goal after some elegant plays down the middle. Carlo Darbellay was the scorer. Almost
all the way down to the corner flag, Hattrick_Patrick's Bengt Staalenburg somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle,
impossible to miss for Loh Kai Tai, who struck for 0 - 2. Many in the crowd felt the referee was being too lenient when he only
showed Mathematics's Ye Chong Boon a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind in the 76th minute. In the 81st minute,
Ping Daming came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. Hattrick_Patrick dictated play,
as they maintained 84 percent of possession.
Mathematics's top performer was clearly Dan Sava. However, Ye Li Seng made a disastrous appearance. Loh Kai Tai performed
admirably for Hattrick_Patrick. Bengt Staalenburg turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 2.
