20500 punters turned up at Man Old Arena, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. People from all over Yau Tsim Mong had joined up for the derby. A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for MOTU. They fielded: Soon peng - Than Lin, Marek, Hwa Yi - Boucherat, Sang Jung, Haddad, Bruhn - Hammer, Nalesso, Minonzio.
Winner had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Sit Wai - Singh, Kilsgaard, Tse Man - Sugg, Guet, Vincent, Durão, Freixo - Gutekunst, Fyhrland.
It was an obvious ambition of MOTU to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. Winner clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. Winner took the lead in the game's 3rd minute, scoring the 0 - 1 goal after some elegant plays down the middle. Yannick Gutekunst was the scorer. Edi Sugg increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley shot away on a pass from the right. 0 - 2. The structure of the game started to change as Winner decided to pull back and meet their opponents in their own half. The referee showed Winner's Søren Kilsgaard the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. A thrilling play through the middle in the 37th minute gave Winner's Yannick Gutekunst a chance to increase the lead, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 3. Some fine manoeuvring on the left led to a Winner goal in the 43rd minute, making it 0 - 4. Jan Fyhrland was noted down as the scorer. It was 0 - 4 at the break. Winner held the ball, with a clear 84 percent of possession.
The visitors' Søren Kilsgaard took advantage of an error due to a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and central backs in the 48th minute. 0 - 5 for Winner. Winner's Nicolau Freixo received a play slashing through the home side's central defense in the 49th minute, and chipped it past the keeper to score the 0 - 6 goal. The home crowd was not pleased with that one. A drive on the left side allowed Winner's Yannick Gutekunst to get in close and score a goal in the 50th minute, leading to 0 - 7. That made three goals for Yannick Gutekunst and he was marked down for the hat trick. 57 minutes into the game, Lonnie Singh had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came Tapani Huopalainen. Edi Sugg increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley shot away on a pass from the right. 0 - 8. Nicolau Freixo of Winner was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. This half belonged to Winner, who controlled the ball 87 percent of the time.
The most dominating MOTU player was without a doubt Bernhard Marek. Ciro Nalesso on the other hand, had a terrible day. Winner's top performer was clearly Søren Kilsgaard. Johan Vincent on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 8.
