A season corresponds to a hattrick year. The oldest league, [[Sverige]], is currently playing its 29th season.

== Program of the Season ==
There are 16 weeks in a season. 14 weeks for [[league]] [[competitive matches|matches]], then 1 week for [[Qualifiers|promotion-demotion match]]es and the last week is a free week, a week without a match on the weekend. In the week before the first competition match, the first [[cup|cup match]] is held, and these cup matches continue untill one [[team]] has won the [[cup]]. In big leagues the last cup match is after the last league match.

== End of the Season ==
At the end of the season, and the beginning of the season some yearly rituals are done:
* Teams promote or are demoted.
* [[Team spirit]] is reset.
* [[players]] get a year older.
* [[fans|Supporter Mood]] and [[sponsors|Sponsor Mood]] are also reset.
* Red and yellow [[cards]] are removed.
