== hattrick wiki logo ==
I've kicked off a contest to get this great project a new logo. For this I've posted the call for suggestions in several confereces within Hattrick as well as external forums.
I'll keep posting the samples which people create here. I'll also post these in the [[Hattrick_Wiki_Federation|Hattrick Wiki conference]]. I've created a thread for this there.

'''Moved the gallery to [[Hattrick_wiki_logo_contest]] upon request''' --[[User:Psymon|psymon]] 23:32, 30 November 2005 (UTC)

Writings will be changed by the artists if the logo gets selected as the new Hattrick Wiki Logo. I can understand they don't want the logos to be selected without their knowledge ;)
By the way - something's not working with the < gallery > template... but as long as we see the pictures, I think it's okay ;)

Shall I make this logo project an extra page?

----

Yes, I think so. Can I suggest something like [[Hattick:Hattrick wiki logo contest]] and add a link from the wiki main page?

BTW, The logos should need some acceptable license. I think that BSD, GFDL or GPL would be fine but it's unclarified (see the text at the end of the edition page).

--[[User:Carlesmu|carlesmu]] 23:03, 30 November 2005 (UTC)

Good point. I'll extract this now - I think you're right. HT-Johan said in the global conference he likes the idea - so it's a good idea that we make this more visible ;)
----
I also think a new page for the logo contest is needed, plus a link from the main page. The main page should be a dinamic and updated article, that reflects events such as this one in my opinion. Also, I can only see one of the logos, and the layout on that table looks screwed to me (on linux & firefox). Great idea! --[[User:Duno7|duno7]] 23:15, 30 November 2005 (UTC)
: Also linux and firefox, I can see the three images but there is a text at the bottom overlaping. Could you try: <nowiki>[[Image:hattrickwikilogo_suggestion1_sirhawkeye.jpg|thumb|140px|Artist: SirHawkeye]] [[Image:hattrickwikilogo_suggestion1_brausebirne.gif|thumb|140px|Artist: Brausebirne]] [[Image:hattrickwikilogo_suggestion1_joager.gif|thumb|140px|Artist: Joager]]</nowiki> --[[User:Carlesmu|carlesmu]] 23:30, 30 November 2005 (UTC)

Ok. The contest page is created and can be found here:
[[Hattrick_wiki_logo_contest]]

And yes, the layout looks screwed, because the template is. I am using the gallery feature. I'll look into fixing that later.
== Logos ==

I love the first logo, but it needs better text at the bottom. I don't like the hattwiki thing.
The 2nd logo is a little too hard to read for my taste, and it doesn't make mention of the wiki.
I like the third logo, but I'm not sure something so square is what we want.
The fourth is just funny. I think I like it best though.
I have reverted the page again, and I've added it to my watchlist. I'm going to revert back every change that includes your image. No hard feelings, but this is an OFFICIAL Hattrick site, and rules apply. It's not allowed to use offensive words on Hattrick, nor should it be allowed to do so here, unless you get permission for that from a GM, in which case I'll gladly admit I was wrong. Keep in mind that there are members of the staff monitoring the Wiki, and that some people have already been banned from the Wiki because of what they did. Personally, I don't mind your picture and I find it very funny, but we should all try to be objective and act according to some general rules of behaviour. --[[User:Catalyst2950|Catalyst2950]] 23:33, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
Hoopa, all your words seems to be correct but note that YOU are not the staff of the hattrick. They have the chance sooner as you are here to say me: hey you do the wrong thing please be moderated! But they don't do it yet. So it is not the PLACE to threaten anybody with a ban. You have not the authority to do this, my image is an official member of the challange. So get out of it! :)
--[[User:Attreides|Attreides]] 16:16, 13 December 2005 (UTC)

----
Thing is, the logo's not even very good. Or, IMO, funny. Also, I'm not sure anyone's been banned from the site yet, though it is technically possible to ban IPs. This logo, however, probably wouldn't justify a ban or any action at all on part of the HT staff.

STILL--the idea that wikis are unmoderated is a misnomer. Wikis (and in particular this one) are ''community'' moderated. What that means is that if the consensus is against whatever you wanted to post, then you should bow out. At some point, simply being overly obstinate would justify an IP ban.

But there's clearly no consensus here yet. Hell, not even much discussion. For me and my part, I say the logo should go--mainly because it's trite, uninteresting and juvenile. Also, most of the other logos are CLEARLY better, so this one vanishing would be no loss at all. -- Septimusjm
As Septimusjm said, Wikis are community-moderated. You can revert, I can revert. I can censor, you can un-censor. However, it would be best if you just let this go until we get official clarification on whether offensive words are allowed on an official Hattrick site or not. --[[User:Catalyst2950|Catalyst2950]] 20:29, 13 December 2005 (UTC)
----
I agree that the logo should go (because I think it's dumb and not funny), but I don't think GMs have any more say around here than anyone else. EXCEPT for things like harrassing HT members, which is against the rules whether it happens onsite or off.

Maybe 2 v. 1 is sufficient concensus to keep the ugly logo off the site? --[[User:Septimusjm|septimusjm]] 04:11, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

: I agree GMs don't have more to say here except for things regarding harrassing, cheating, and the like. Also it is slightly more easy for me to get the attention of those actually running the wiki, who in turn have the power to ban people from the wiki.
:However, as there seems to be a 3 to 1 or even 4 to 1 (me included) that the logo is not really suitable for the contest, I would like to keep the rtfw-logo off the page. Feel free to create [[Hattrick-Wiki_logo_controversy]] though;-) --[[User:GM-Lau|GM-Lau]] 09:53, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
:p.s. I can practically guarantee that the HTs will never allow logo's with abusive language as an official logo, so the logo is ''really'' not suitable. [[User:GM-Lau|GM-Lau]]

I don't like Attreides' logo and the language used in it and I'm sure that it will never be used as the HT Wiki logo. However, as long as this contest is running I think that it is up to Attreides to decide whether he still want to participate with his logo and no one else should take it off. (We're talking about freedom of expression here, not plain use of bad language...)
But if Attreides has any common sense he should come up with another logo. --[[User:Wyatt|Wyatt]] 10:13, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

----
We're actually NOT talking about freedom of expression. Not for individuals anyway. Hattrick wiki is a community undertaking which in an important way is less about individual expression than self-less expression and compromise.

make that 5 to 1 against Attreides if that's any help. [[User:Dancing rob|Dancing rob]] 16:11, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
Maybe I didn't express myself clear enough. I agree that Wiki isn't the place where everyone must be allowed to contribute whatever (s)he wants for the sake of "freedom of expression".
But with respect to the logo contest I think that anyone should be allowed participate with any logo (even if it is a bad one). It's not up to us to ban logo's from the contest, we should just point out to the participant that the logo is not appropriate, has no chance to win the contest and ask him to come up with another one. --[[User:Wyatt|Wyatt]] 12:26, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

''This page is used together with the [[Bugs]], [[Approved ideas]] and the [[Rejected ideas]] pages. When editing, please make sure that the contents of these pages match each other.''

== Summary ==

Following is the list of the ideas that have been suggested by different Hattrick managers to the HT-team and no definite answer from a HT-staff member has been received.

The purposes of this page are:

* to provide the list of possible improvements to the game interface and the engine that the HT-team might want to consider.
* to keep managers from starting 'let's implement this' type of threads in the Global conference every time a new manager has the same bright idea that someone else submitted a week ago.

Please feel free to add your own ideas to the list and discuss them in the discussion page.

If a member of a HT-staff publicly (i.e. in the Global or some other Hattrick forum) explains that something cannot/would not be done, please move the idea to the [[Rejected ideas]] page along with the explanation, if any, possibly copying the post word by word. Otherwise, in the rare event that a HT-team member would announce that something could be done in the (hopefully nearest) future, it should be moved to the [[Approved ideas]] page, again with the post.

If something you believe is obviously wrong, please post it in the [[Bugs]] page. Do not post bugs that can be abused by other managers this way -- these should be mailed to your local GMs!

'''It is important to realize that small and/or cosmetic changes are much easier to implement while large changes that would require revamping major parts of the game would almost 100% likely fail to be approved.''' The reason for this is that the game is supposed to evolve at a low pace, otherwise many managers would get frustrated at the game constantly changing and quit.

== Game interface ==
''Game interface improvements go here.''

* Clickable links on players in the lineups in a match report.

* Many interface improvements that available with the Foxtrick plugin, which does offer many of these improvements.

* Notebook: "delete my notes" link moved to a spot far away from the Save button :)

* Match lineup: modify displayed text of individual orders so the page could show up on one page (without having to scroll; in English, "extra inner midfielder/central defender" is too long so the page is to be scrolled horizontally).

* Player list: list on the right could have the player number prepended to the names (but not as a part of the link).

* League standings: win-draw-loss coloumns. Option: in a separate list type (like "Old League tables").

* My Hattrick: showing last/current match and league position (like the Supporters page but for the current team). Current economy balance and latest transfer list entry could also be displayed.

== Match engine ==

''Match engine suggestions go here. Please note that the changes in this area have very little chance to be implemented due to a variety of reasons.''

*Player names colored in their respective team colors. (yes like in foxtrick, but should work on the live match too). For a complete list of ideas, visit the [http://foxtrick.px.cz/ foxtrick website] and see its features + the features request in the forum

*High set pieces skill for goalkeepers could increase the chance of saving a penalty. Pro: increasing popularity of set pieces training; most managers get a bit better game experience; more effort in transfer list browsing (for good SP goalkeepers) pays off. Con: Maybe national team goalkeepers are too strong anyway. Another Con: It is not even close to real life.. (I personally have been playing as a GK for 8 years. I save quite many penalties, but I am really bad at shooting them.)

*Chance of (some?) special events could be modified by player form in a non-linear manner. Eg. measuring to passable form as 100%, excellent form could enhance the chances to 120%, while poor form could decrease to 60%. The same with negative events but with a negated scale.

*Specialities for Goalkeepers! For example:
** unpredictable: positive effects: will save some "extremly hard to catch" goals. negative effects: blackout, just standing there and letting the ball pass behin the goal line. depending
** quick: positive: will be able to run out and save an almost certein goal when the defenders screwed up. negative: will be lobbed (is that correct english? :) ) more often than regular keepers.
** powerful: will be able to save some more corner kicks. negative effects: none

*Keepers should also get cards! If keeper gets sent off, the weakest striker (!) on the field is subbed out for the reserve keeper.

*Introduce own Goals! (blackout keeper, defender or midfielder)

== Economics ==

''Economical suggestions go here. Please note that the changes in this area have very little chance to be implemented due to a variety of reasons.''

* If a player is playing abroad but in his region (eg. an English player in France, Western Europe), the wage penality could be 10% instead of 20%, as he's "not that far away from home". This could make a new option for saving some wages.

== Other ==
''Everything else that doesn't fall in one of the above categories goes here.''

*Add a little counter next to the all flags that says how many flags that part has.

*Supporters only: allow maximum amount to be set (e.g. 5/10/25/all) for friendly invitations.

*Make it possible to change the teamname abbreviation while NOT changing the actual teamname. (In [[off season]]; for normal costs)

*Conferences: [off] HT-ML tag for offtopic text (to be displayed eg. in gray text, like the signatures)

*Ability to turn My Hattrick event delete-on-read feature off. Option: for supporters only. Option 2: autodelete stays, but a new link/button appears with "keep this event in the event log" or sg. which un-deletes the event (ie. inserts it again, with eg. the text transferred with GET/POST so the DB delete could be executed anyway; security issues should be addressed however).

* Total Popularity Index (TPI) - a system of gauging the popularity of a player among his team's fans. To prevent cluttering this page, the full proposal and additional ideas is located [[Total Popularity Index (proposal)|here]].

*Raise the 12 hour limit when firing players with TSI less than eg. 200. (Sometimes one would just reorganise the B squad...)

== Guestbook message numbers ==

The message numbers in the 'Guestbook section' are off.

For example, a guestbook containing 98 messages (as of 25.09.2005) has the following pager part:

Next 10

98-78 78-58 58-38 38-18 18-1

It's obvious that the step used is 20 and not 10. Also this should normally read 98-79 78-59 or 98-89, 88-79 etc. -- not the way it is done on the guestbook page.

Also, on the first page shown are the messages from #98 down to #89, i.e. the last 10 messages. Clicking on the '98-78' link lists them again, instead of the 21 message indicated here. After that the step is 20: clicking on the 78-58 link, for example, lists the messages from #79 to #59.

== Character counter in edit boxes ==

When typing [[press announcement]]s, [[guestbook]] messages or [[HT mail]]s, the number of characters is limited, but the counter indicating the number of characters left is a little off sometimes. This may result in the loss of the last couple of characters of your message. One possible reason for this is that the character counter might not be handling CR/LF character pairs properly. Also, it is possible that the character counter doesn't take into account the title of the announcement or message, which is included in the character count calculation. Furthermore, handling of accented characters (possibly those of 2 bytes width in unicode?) is right on the client side but bad on the server side (= messages are cut well before the expected boundary). This can be reproduced eg. using Hungarian accented unicode characters (eg. ű or ő).

== Challenges misspelled in page name ==

It's chall'''''a'''''nges.asp.

== Last club money is paid to the teams that change owners ==

When a player is sold that has played some games in his previous owner team, then that team is entitled to a certain small % of his sale price. If the previous owner team (referred to as the "last owner" in the rules) has changed owners since then, the money will go to the new owner, which sometimes amounts for a lot of cash for a most likely starting team. This works for mother club money as well.

== Teams with 2+ top scorers get 2+ top scorer bonus messages ==

If two or more players are tied for the top scorer award in a series, and they both belong to the same team, that team receives one message saying "You receive the top scorer bonus" for each player, thus seemingly awarding that bonus more than once. However, the bonus is actually paid once, as it should according to the rules.

== International challenge that's already booked cannot be accepted message ==

Early Wednesday the message looks like this:
Challenges: 1
[team name]
Venue: [arena, rules]. Booked!The challenge cannot be accepted right now! International friendlies can only be arranged from Thursday to Tuesday.

== Injury of National or U20 players can be seen before game ends ==

If you have a National or U20 team player in your squad you can check the player list of that National or U20 team just after the game has been calculated (between 15 minutes before kick off and when the match report starts to appear). On this list you can see if he will be injured in the game he is playing or not.

== Squad size of 50+ results in unpredictable lineups ==

If you have more than 50 players in your team some of them may not be in the line-up for a match you have made resulting in a line-up with less than 11 players. It is unclear which players cannot be selected for the line-up. Example matchid: 83934073

== Pops from nonexistent to disastrous not reported ==

Training pops from nonexistent to disastrous skill level do not appear in a team's training report.

== Summary ==

== Game interface ==

== Match engine ==

== Economics ==

== Other ==
''Everything else that doesn't fall in one of the above categories goes here.''

== Guestbook message numbers ==

== Team spirit loss due to transfers ==

It seems that when you buy or sell a player and that adversely affects your [[team spirit]], sometimes there is a message printed under 'The Club' menu but no visible team spirit changes happen, and sometimes vice versa (i.e. the team spirit drops but there is no message). This might be related to a possible bug in the part of the script that chooses to print the message or not depending on whether the rounded team spirit value changed.

== Sneak-peek ignores blocklist ==

If a message from a blocked user appears in a thread displayed by the 'Sneak-peek' function, that message's contents would be displayed.

== Character counter in edit boxes ==

When typing [[press announcement]]s, [[guestbook]] messages or [[HT mail]]s, the number of characters is limited, but the counter indicating the number of characters left is a little off sometimes. This may result in the loss of the last couple of character of your message. One possible reason for this is that the character counter might not be handling CR/LF character pairs properly.

== High confidence values never show ==

The [[denominations]] for [[confidence]] include [[denominations|slightly exaggerated]], [[denominations|completely exaggerated]] and [[denominations|extremely exaggerated]] which hint at possible [[overconfidence]]. However, the highest [[confidence]] listed on the [[training]] page is [[denominations|wonderful]]. It is unclear whether this is due to a presentation bug, or these values are unreachable with the current game engine, or they can only be reached during matchtime, when team confidence is not shown.

== Challenges misspelled in page name ==

It's chall'''''a'''''nges.asp. Just a misspell, I know.

High set pieces skill for goalkeepers could increase the chance of saving a penalty. Pro: increasing popularity of set pieces training; most managers get a bit better game experience; more effort in transfer list browsing (for good SP goalkeepers) pays off. Con: Maybe national team goalkeepers are too strong anyway.

Chance of (some?) special events could be modified by player form in a non-linear manner. Eg. measuring to passable form as 100%, excellent form could enhance the chances to 120%, while poor form could decrease to 60%. The same with negative events but with a negated scale.
== Summary ==

Following is the list of the ideas that have been suggested by different Hattrick managers to the HT-team and no definite answer from a HT-staff member has been received.

The purposes of this page are:

<ul>* to provide the list of possible improvements to the game interface and the engine that the HT-team might want to consider.</ul>
<ul>* to keep managers from starting 'let's implement this' type of threads in the Global conference every time a new manager has the same bright idea that someone else submitted a week ago.</ul>
