==Overview==

In match reports, you can see what events happened in a particular [[match]]. All [[scoring opportunities]], [[injury|injuries]] and [[cards]] are reported here. [[Possession]] percentages in the 45th and the 90th minute, Tactics [[ratings]] and sector [[ratings]] for both teams appear when the match is finished.

If you click on player ratings under a team name at the right, you can see how well each player played in that match, shown in [[stars]]. If the match is ongoing, the ratings will be absent, and only the events that have happened so far are displayed. Those watching their matches on [[HT-Live]] will see the latest events appear roughly minute-by-minute in red text. Many players love almost nothing as much as the appearance of new 'red text':)

There are a number of other ways to 'watch' your match(es) live. These are being improved by volunteer programmers regularly. See [[Helper_Applications#Match_Viewers|Matchviewer]] section.

The match report is updated about once a minute.

Bear in mind that for the first 5-10 minutes of a live game no information will arrive, which is normal.

Snylte is the manager of the norwegian club Snylte Tacklers (20368). He joined the game on 17.01.2002 in league IV.5 and he now plays in III.13 of [[Norge]] (Norway).
He also used to be the [[national team]] manager of Norge and he is the inventor of the ''snylte'' tactic:

[[Norge]] won the world cup against [[Sverige]] (Sweden) on 29.02.2004 due to snylte's tactical excellence: By fielding only players with very strong [[midfield]] skills and order them towards the midfield (Wing towards mid, offensive Defenders) and playing with [[offensive midfielder]]s to push the [[attack ratings]] at the same time, he achieved the maximum rating for the midfield: [[Denominations|divine (very high)]] and acceptable ones in the [[central attack]]. Underestimation

In Hattrick, overconfidence is an event that happens when a [[team]] severely underestimates their [[series]] opponent and thus performs worse than it normally would. This usually happens when a team leading the series is playing a team in the bottom part of the table. Overconfidence does not happen in [[cup]] or [[friendly]] matches.

The overconfidence check is done once before the match; if there is overconfidence, there will be a message about the players' attitude before the match begins. The affected teams's midfield rating is halved. It is possible for the coach to amend the effects of overconfidence during the match break; if so, there is a mention in the match report at the beginning of the second half. However, this amending only happens when the overconfident team is losing.

Based on some research, overconfidence can happen when a team with a [[Denominations|strong]] or better [[confidence]] plays a team at least 6 places below it in the series table. It is not clear yet whether [[winning streak]] is a factor, or if the number of [[sports psychologist]]s is, although many web pages suggest that psychologists should be fired in cases where possible overconfidence can lead to problems.

In some cases, overconfidence is not much of a problem because the winning team would win anyway; sometimes, however, an overconfidence event could decide to whom goes the series medal. Teams so affected decry their luck.

There are several confidence levels listed in the [[Denominations]] that sound like the team is acting overconfident (slightly exaggerated, extremely exaggerated and completely exaggerated), however, for some reason these never appear on the web pages nor in the XML files downloaded by [[CHPP]] applications. It might be related to such confidence levels being only reached while matches with overconfidence events are played, but due to the fact that team data is unavailiable to download while matches are played, and the web pages hide confidence at that time, these denominations stay pretty much unused.

Every time your [[team]] plays a [[match]] with one of the 6 standard alternatives ([[4-3-3]], [[5-3-2]], [[3-5-2]], [[4-5-1]], [[3-4-3]], [[5-4-1]], it will acquire formation experience. Formation experience for [[4-4-2]] is always [[excellent]]. The team can't acquire formation experience with formations differing from the 6 standard alternatives; so if you want to use an [[extreme formation]], you'll have to put your trust in your [[player]]s' individual [[experience]].

If you don't play with a certain formation, experience will decrease over time. A good idea is to always use an alternative, or switch between two alternatives. If you use more, it is not surprising that the players will get [[confusion|confused]]. Also, anytime you sell a player, you will risk losing formation experience.

Homer Simpson

Homer Simpson was a player without noteworthy skills but a very unique name. He was generated in a bot team of the [[USA]] and he even played a game for the USA [[national team]]. His popularity within the HT [[Community]] was similar to [[Bob Sunesson]]'s.

The [[Hattrick Team]] even added a special '[[Memorable moments|Memorable Moment]]' for Homer Simpson, saying he once ate 12 donuts in under a minute and finished it off with a Duff Beer.

But one day his team was assigned to a real manager and although there were many users who pleaded to save Homer, he was sent into [[HT-Valhalla]].

Even putting him on the USA national team prior to the deletion of the bot team did not help, because he never belonged to a non-bot team. He did play in 1 USA national team match as an offensive winger by then national team Manager [[Slashers]]. Protesters were somewhat appeased when the HT-Team announced it would grant him immortality by giving him a unique retirement message:

''PlayerID 10262441 was last seen at Moe's Tavern downing mug after mug of Duff's Beer. His days of glory are clearly over...''

Ever since the original was first spotted, many people have tried to confuse others by coming up with clones of Homer Simpson, but there can only be one - and this original is gone. Forever. Skøl, Homer!

I don't think, that it's good idea to have such page at all. Or I do not understand the purpose of it. As initially stated "and were either banned, locked, heavily fined, or known in other ways for remarkable behaviour". Excuse me, but since when, cheating, misbehaving in forrums, etc (all things, fow which you might get banned is a remarkable). And it's meant to have this banned list of "honour", then Rondell-Beene certainly does NOT belong here. At last, thousands users are remarkable in their own way. There is alaready category Users, where it's said "Some famous users of Hattrick.". Users, that are listed there are alredy more known, than the ones here. I am against the idea to make some kind of black list from this page. And discussions which users are worth to be on this "special category" will lead only flamewar. To all: the users initially listed on this page were (in)famous in HT-Nederland and België only. In fact there used to be a line on this page stating only Dutch and Belgian users should be listed here.

LA-Motto: your solution would completely eliminate the entire reason why this page is here, but judging from what you say that is exactly what you want. I agree with you a page/category like this could potentially cause some problems, but that wouldn't be a reason for me not to give it a go - we could always remove the page once these problems actually occur. Also, I think the users that started this page take some pride in actually being infamous. So for that group of users, this page certainly has some (personal) value.

Lars, I was actually the one removing the "Netherlands and Belgium only" link, since that sort of page reservation is not desirable IMO. If there is a page for infamous users, let is be for all of Hattrick's infamous users.

Dziobaki is a Polish [[club]] standing in [[:category:Poland|Polish]] [[:category:Ekstraklasa|Ekstraklasa]] now.

Its manager, Mateusz Mucha ([[User:jerzy|jerzy]]), has brought them to win Polish Ekstraklasa three times. Dziobaki has also won [[Puchar Polski|Polish Cup]] twice. It's known to be the most succesful team in Poland, the only one to have appereared in Polish TV and daily newspapers.

The [[team]] of [[User:Mattep74|Mattep74]]. Founded in [[season]] 3 in 1998 and then in the 3rd [[division]]. Since the team isnt [[day trading]], and the fact that [[training]] wasn't an option before 2001, (when the owner figured out that training games were needed to make the teams better), the team isn't among the top division. Since 1998 Gryta Gangsters have gone from the 3rd division to the 6th in 2005 and when 2006 begins the team is in the 5th division.

The record in the [[cup]] is the 3rd round.

Besides belonging to a country, all Hattrick clubs belong to a region as well. This does not affect your placement in a [[series]]; the only thing it changes is the [[weather]] for home games. Each region has its own weather system.

The main purpose of regions is to promote a sense of "belonging," thus building a regional [[community]]. For larger countries especially, having your own home region supposedly improves your HT-experience. In actual testing, the change is minimal.

Each region also has its own [[conference]].

==Introduction==

When playing a match, the possession your team has at a certain minute determines your chances of getting a [[Regular_chances|goal chance]]. It depends on both your team's and the opponent team's [[midfield]].

Possesion can be observed on the match report, at the end of the first half (minute 45) and the end of the second half (minute 90). That number is calculated using a formula which takes on consideration the midfield level of both the teams at that particular minute.

One of the consequences of the formula (in terms of gameplay) is that, to get a certaing possesion, you need to beat your rival's team by a highest number of levels when the average midfield level is higher. For example:

* ''solid (very low)'' vs 'excellent (very low)'' (1 level) = 54%

Also, the midfield values used in the formula are the ones on that particular minute, while the midfield rating that is displayed at the end of the match is the average of the midfield during the 90 minutes. This explains the cases where discrepancies between the possession percentages at the 45th and 90th minute and the midfield rating seem to appear. Events such as:

Igal08, Igal - The owner of F.C Haifa in [[Haifa]], [[Israel]].

Igal, is a great tactical manager. He was the first user in Istrael. He coached the Israeli U-20 team. He helped improve the community and the national team throught projects and advertisments. His team he won 2 national championships and 2 cups.

His main rival are Hapoel Beer-Sheva, They see him as their black sheep. out of 18 matches between them he beat Hapoel Beer-Sheva 14 times.

The Flag Chasers Community is the biggest [[federation]] in [[Hattrick]], with over 10.000 members at the moment. The federation started when Henri77 came up with the idea for the little [[flags]] that can be aquired with [[international friendly|international friendlies]]. He got a group of enthusiastic people around him and the federation started to grow rapidly. This became known as [[Flag chasing]].

The federation developed some unique aspects to keep people active and interested in the community. Of course there is the FCC [[Logo]] [http://fcclogo.cretze.org], which is well known to the whole hattrick community. But there are also a lot of different unique competitions inside the community. The competitions at this moment are:

* [[RISK]]: you 'conquer' countries by winning games in front of a large attendance. This game favours strong teams.
* [[CODE]]: you try to 'crack' a flag code chosen before the season starts. This game favours weaker teams, since they can make more friendlies, because they get kicked out from the cup earlier.
* [[PULL]]: this has actually nothing to do with flag chasing. You win if you pull better youth players than the other participants. This game favours teams with an excellent youth squad.
* [[LUCK]]: you play your away friendlies during the season. At the end you choose 7 games you want to keep. Those will count for you LUCK-score. After everybody has chosen their 7 countries, a random script will generate the scores for each country. The best score wins of course.

After about one year at the top, Henri77 no longer had his focus on the community and decided it was time to let someone else run the show and take the federation to 10.000 members. The new president was [[Djens]]. After that, a lot of things changed. The federation became more rigid (no longer free entry) and a few competitions and ranks were changed or deleted.

Boucoudabou: Amended, edited and linked

General [[training]] helps [[form]] by bringing the [[visible form]] towards [[background form]] more quickly if the background form is higher than the visible form, and vice versa if the background form is lower than the visible form. It also trains [[goalkeeping]] to a very small degree.

It is important to note that background form is not affected, so gains from this training type tend to be very short term.

General is regarded as the black sheep amongst [[training types]], practiced only by those who do not know any better, and those at the very top of the game, where the need to keep [[wages]] down by any means possible means it may be a wise choice.
