Welcome to [[Hattrick Wiki]], the encyclopedia about all things concerning [[Hattrick]]. Here we give the users the opportunity to create the equivalent of [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia Wikipedia] for the Hattrick world.

Feel free to add lexicon articles about your favourite subject in Hattrick. Currently it is only available in English, but in time, we expect to add more languages.

Hattrick Wiki is unmoderated. This places a great responsibility on you as a contributor. Please don't misuse Hattrick Wiki. Try to be as objective as possible when you write an article. Please don't sabotage. Do not publish information on cheating or [[GameMasters|GameMaster]] investigations. This is a test and if it doesn't work out well, we will take the wiki down again.

Please contribute all you can to make this a useful addition to the services we offer. We want this to take the dissection of the game to the next level, a place for your ideas to evolve together, a center for collecting and analysing data.

Does the 2nd in Div 8 really play a qualifier? Until now i thought otherwise and i do not find a hint in the editorial which interpretation is correct.

Well, just consider the number of divisions at each level:<br>
V - 256 divisions (x2 = 512 auto-demoting from 7th or 8th and 512 playing qualifier)<br>
VI - 1024 divisions (#1 makes up 1024 teams, so 512 play qualifiers and 512 auto-promote) (x2 = 2048 teams auto-demoting, 2048 teams w/ qualifier)<br>
VII - 1024 divisions (#1 makes up 1024 teams who auto-promote, #2 is 1024 teams who also auto-promote, then 2048 from 3 and 4 who have a qualifier) (x2 = 2048 auto-demoting, 2048 w/ qualifier)<br>
VIII - 2048 divisions (#1 = 2048 teams, #2 = 2048 teams)<br>

So, you would assume that all the #1s would auto-promote and all the #2s would play a qualifier, as is done with the 1-2s and 3-4s now. But, no, this hasn't been confirmed, I just thought it was by far the most logical conclusion.

In a german (language, not nationality) conference a swiss GM said that no relegation matches will take place. That was posted in an FAQ thread, so i consider this to be information coming directly from HTs and to be checked by his colleagues for accuracy. You can find it here (5591227.1), although you would need a translator or to be able to understand german.

This is a wiki, a source of information, and not a dictatorship. Also, please read http://dictionary.reference.com/help/faq/language/i/ie-eg.html, note that football is a game (whereas two teams play a match), refrain from any specific names, and stop putting every other sentence in parenthesis. I would say training 17yo players is most of the time not advisable, certainly not for newbies, and training players older than 19yo is highly underrated. Why shouldn't we advise newbies to calculate the expected profit per week of training and base their decision on that...?

The solution we've come up with, for now, is to just provide a direct link to the category page, in which case everything works fine. NOTE: There is apparently no current solution to this problem except to provide a direct link to the category page. I've kicked off a contest to get this great project a new logo. For this I've posted the call for suggestions in several confereces within Hattrick as well as external forums.
I'll keep posting the samples which people create here. I'll also post these in the [[Hattrick_Wiki_Federation|Hattrick Wiki conference]]. I've created a thread for this there.

Writings will be changed by the artists if the logo gets selected as the new Hattrick Wiki Logo. I can understand they don't want the logos to be selected without their knowledge ;)

BTW, The logos should need some acceptable license. I think that BSD, GFDL or GPL would be fine but it's unclarified (see the text at the end of the edition page).

I love the first logo, but it needs better text at the bottom. I don't like the hattwiki thing.
The 2nd logo is a little too hard to read for my taste, and it doesn't make mention of the wiki.
I like the third logo, but I'm not sure something so square is what we want.
The fourth is just funny. I think I like it best though.

I have reverted the page again, and I've added it to my watchlist. I'm going to revert back every change that includes your image. No hard feelings, but this is an OFFICIAL Hattrick site, and rules apply. It's not allowed to use offensive words on Hattrick, nor should it be allowed to do so here, unless you get permission for that from a GM, in which case I'll gladly admit I was wrong. Keep in mind that there are members of the staff monitoring the Wiki, and that some people have already been banned from the Wiki because of what they did. Thing is, the logo's not even very good. Or, IMO, funny. Also, I'm not sure anyone's been banned from the site yet, though it is technically possible to ban IPs. This logo, however, probably wouldn't justify a ban or any action at all on part of the HT staff.

STILL--the idea that wikis are unmoderated is a misnomer. Wikis (and in particular this one) are ''community'' moderated. What that means is that if the consensus is against whatever you wanted to post, then you should bow out. At some point, simply being overly obstinate would justify an IP ban.

But there's clearly no consensus here yet. Hell, not even much discussion. For me and my part, I say the logo should go--mainly because it's trite, uninteresting and juvenile. Also, most of the other logos are CLEARLY better, so this one vanishing would be no loss at all. -- Septimusjm

I agree that the logo should go (because I think it's dumb and not funny), but I don't think GMs have any more say around here than anyone else. EXCEPT for things like harrassing HT members, which is against the rules whether it happens onsite or off.

: I agree GMs don't have more to say here except for things regarding harrassing, cheating, and the like. Also it is slightly more easy for me to get the attention of those actually running the wiki, who in turn have the power to ban people from the wiki.

Swiebie, a great loving caring guy. He's the owner of [[Hattrick Drankjes Café]], a [[federation]] in [[Hattrick]]. He leads the federation and is married with [[hdc-prinses]]. Swiebie is very active in [[Hattrick]] and he always tries to help where he can help. His federation grew to 93 members already and I think thats not yet enough. Under his leading can at least 10000000 people take place. His team the Dragon of the Redroses is based on his surname. At the moment his team is doing very well in the V.200, 3rd place. But we will hear more about this great guy. His friend and girlfriend [[Digster]] and [[HDC-Pluck]] are his Vice-Presidents, they mean a lot for the [[Hattrick Drankjes Café]] however, also his best in real life friend [[willywv]] is a great helper.

I would like to start a discussion here about the term "GameMaster".

It has been discussed among LAs, and th eopinion was that the corretc Englush spelling would be "Game Master".
Therefore, my opinion would be to respect the "Game Master" spelling - and incidentally to correct all occurrence of the term according to this also on the Hattrick website.

I will not edit the current page until we are sure there is a consensus about this opinion. Please feel free to express your opinion here.

== Selling or Buying [[Players]] ==

=== Selling players ===

In order to sell a player you have to place him on the transfer list. When doing this, you must also choose a category from [[goalkeeper]] to [[forward]],and set an asking price. Note that most people will search by [[skills]] whichever category you select.

You have to declare a starting price for the player. This is the lowest amount for which you're prepared to let him go. He'll be on the transfer list 3 days before going to the club that has offered the most for him. There are various theories regarding the value of starting prices, with some people feeling players should always be listed for 0, whilst others prefer listing for the minimum price they feel is acceptable.

A sold player disappears off to his new club immediately after the bidding is over (although note this may take some time, particularly if the [[server|servers]] are busy). If a buyer isn't found he stays at your [[club]]. If you have placed a player on the transfer list you MAY NOT change your mind! He's there for 3 days, and that's that! Also, keep in mind that all information on the player's [[players|abilities]], [[players|personality]] etc. will be made common knowledge when you place him on the transfer list.

You may select a player for the team even if he is on the transfer list.

After every completed deal, the player's agent, [[mother club]], and [[last club]] will all take their cut of the sale price. The exact amount you will receive depends on how long the player has been with your club. The most you can expect is 93%. It will cost you 1 000 [[currencies|€]] to place a player on the transfer list, even if he isn't sold. Note: If you are selling one of your own [[youth|youth players]] you are not considered the previous owner - but the next time he is sold you will receive previous club money (if he has played a [[match]] for your team) as well as 2% of the sale price for being the mother club. After that you will only receive money for being the mother club whenever the player is sold. The sale of a player after more then exactly six days (= 144 hours) from being pulled from the youth squad may result in a loss of [[team spirit]].

=== Buying players ===

In order to buy a player from another club you have to visit Hattrick's player market, under the [[Transfers]] menu. This is where you'll find out who's for sale. You can only buy players on the transfer list. You can't buy, or exchange, for that matter, players directly from another [[club]]. If you don't see a player that you like in your country's local market - you can search either an individual [[countries|country]] or by one of eight regions, these are all available from the drop-down box on the transfer search page.

When you've found a player you want, click on his name and you'll enter his player page. This is where you may place your offer. You must raise the bid by 1 000 € or 2% more, whichever is greater.

Note that the sum of your bids cannot put you more than 200 000 € into [[debt]].

Bids must be raised by at least 1 000 € or 2%, depending on which amount is bigger. Only full multiples of 1 000 € counts, e.g. a bid of 1 999 € may be overbid by a 2 000 € bid. You may bid on a player right up until the deadline. If someone places an offer less than 3 minutes before the deadline, the deadline will be extended for another 3 minutes. This continues until only one bidder remains and no other bidders raise the stakes before the stated deadline time. A sale is confirmed when the words "Bidding is finished" appear beneath the selling price. Also, when you win a bid, if the new player does not get along with his teammates, you may see team spirit decrease.

Keep in mind that the [[server]] might be down just as the deadline is running out. You'll be taking a chance by waiting until the last minute before making your move. If the [[server]] is down, you're to blame for not acting earlier.

A great help when buying players is the information concerning his abilities, personality etc. You may also want to consider a player's [[TSI]], or [[Total Skill Index]]. However, the current market value of a player may differ greatly from what his TSI might lead you to expect as, above all, it's his top ability (or abilities) that is most relevant - a player being "[[skills#Player_abilities_etc|world class]]" at something and "[[skills#Player_abilities_etc|weak]]" in all other abilities will fetch a higher market price than one who is [[skills#Player_abilities_etc|solid]] at everything. Remember that even if current [[form]] doesn't have a lot of impact on the market value, it will matter for his next couple of games. An expensive player won't necessarily be the saviour you need to get your team out of a tight spot. If you wish, you can use the [[Transfer Compare]] button in order to see what a similar player has recently been sold for on the market.

Good players and money are key aspects in Hattrick, which makes it very important that no teams benefit from abnormal activities on the transfer market. This means that all bids should be in relevance to what could be considered reasonable for the player in question. Remember, it's not only prohibited to have several teams but also to "help" friends or family by buying players at inflated prices. The [[Game Masters]] are fully authorized to cancel or adjust abnormal prices, hand out fines to teams or even ban the users involved.

Transfer Price Adjustment

There are no objective criteria to describe a suspicious [[transfer]].

You must keep in mind that you may never ever pay an extremely higher amount for a player than his market value. You can always check the market valuey by using [[transfercompare]].

In the past it was allowed to trade players (to make an agreement with another player to make the same extreme high bid on a player of the other person so you could 'trade' the two players). This is not allowed anymore.

Another form of suspicious [[transfer]]s are multiple transfers between two [[team]]s or transfers between two teams that are 'linked' to each other (e.g. two brothers/sisters on the same ip).

If someone you don't know makes an extremely high bid on one of your players, be smart enough to report it to your local GM. They will find out anyway and you will lose the money wich was payed to much anyway but if you don't report it to your local [[Game Master|GM]]'s they '''could''' see it as cheating on your part and sanction you about it.

So always report transfers that look suspicious to you by contacting your local GM.

The Dutch [[cup]] started in the beginning of 2001 with the creation of [[Nederland]].

The semi finals and finals were played over two matches up to and including season 12. 512 teams entered for the 11 round cup in seasons 1, 2 and 3. Seasons 4 to 6 took 13 rounds with 2048 entrants. Hattrick Wiki is meant to become an encyclopaedia about Hattrick. Hattrick Wiki is a user initiative supported by the [[Hattrick Team]]. Here users of Hattrick are given the opportunity to create the equivalent of [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia Wikipedia] for the Hattrick world.

The Hattrick Wiki is still more or less empty, so feel free to add reference book articles about your favourite subject in Hattrick. Currently it is only available in English. If it's a success, we will open up other languages in due time.

Please don't sabotage. If you see sabotage of a text, please correct it. Do not publish information on cheating or Game Master investigations or correspondence. Only publish texts that you write yourself or take from Hattrick. This is a test and if it doesn't work out well, the wiki will be taken offline again.
