Achievements are a brand new feature introduced on 27/11/2006. The following announcement was made:

Next season will also see the start of a totally new alternative career feature: Achievements.

Unfortunately, the bitter truth is that not everyone can win the cup or the top league in Hattrick, so we think it’s important that there is a possibility to focus on an alternative career. Alternative careers (the more, the merrier!) give the game depth and give everyone a better gaming experience. Some people focus on being the best forward trainer, some focus on collecting flags and other focus on being an active member of the community for example. Now we add yet another career possibility: achievements.

Shortly put, this feature means you’ll get points for different things you’ve achieved in the game. Winning your league or advancing some rounds in the cup, for example, will give you some points, as will receiving a certain amount of stars in a match. Moreover you will also receive points for other things in the game like founding a federation, buying/selling a player, writing a conference post, climbing up the rankings and becoming a National coach. Most achievements will be known, but there will also be some hidden achievements to seek for.

Your achievements will be visible from your menu and your user page. Both the points you’ve achieved and the maximum points you can achieve will be shown.

The following are possible achievements:

=Overview=

Each club is run by a human [[User|manager]] who is solely responsible for hiring and firing [[players]], [[staff]] and [[coach]]es, setting the [[formation]] and [[tactics]] for the [[competitive matches]], and planning and implementing a long term [[training]] and [[economy|economic]] strategy.

Teams not run by humans are known as [[bot team]]s, or simply bots.

Each club plays a 16 week [[league]] (also called series) program. The first week game consists of the first round of the [[cup]]. Cup games continue as long as you keep winning. After that, friendly matches can be played. The following 14 weekend games are played against series opponents.

The last week is called by many people the '[[off season]]'. During this week, no league or cup games are played, but a number of updates happen. These include all players ageing by one year, all yellow cards being removed, and the mood of supporters and sponsors being reset.

During this week, the end of season [[promotion]]/relegation play-off games happen. These are known as [[Qualifiers|qualification]] games.

==Team Names==

As in real life, in Hattrick's world each team has its own individual name, picked by the user on signing up. While each team has a unique [[ID number]], team names are not necessarily unique. Some popular names are used by many teams.

Some team names relate to a real club such as AC Milan. More common are puns like Madchester Untied.

If you want to change the team's name (only possible in the off-season) then you have to pay 10 000 [[€]] and 3% of your [[supporters]] will leave your team.
