History
Early days
The story of The Killer B's starts on May 1st, 2004. Manager TommieW has just received his Hattrick Team and tips his brother, larsw84, about Hattrick. He signs up and requests a team named The Killer B's.

This name was only a logical choice, since larsw84 has always used KillerB as a nickname for himself in games. 'Nickname' of course is not to be confused with 'login name' here.

After an almost two month wait larsw84 finally receives his team on June 22nd, 2004 and the B's are born. Fortunate enough, the team handed to larsw84 is a team in the at that time brand new Dutch IXth division. The team was taken over just half a week for the league started. That gave larsw84 enough time to arrange a first friendly ánd buy some better players, among which current coach Priidu Joon and the inner midfielder who would turn out to be the league topscorer with no less than 18 goals: Massimo Laterza.

The B's immediately start of training Playmaking. A new coach is hired: Frederic Robin, a passable coach with poor leadership. The B's first trainees are Benny Turjeman, Eimantas Naktinis and Hattori Carstens. They would be sold later on at various stages of training. Turjeman remains at the B's the longest and is finally sold at Outstanding Playmaking.
First seasons
The B's turned out to be the best team by far in their first league, the IX.314. All 14 games are won, the B's score the most goals and have to concede least (only 6!). They finish 12 points ahead of the number two, real foppie united.

The new season starts with the B's first appearance in the KNVB Beker. Against the at that time in VI playing HGC the B's unfortunately lose only 3 to 4 in a match that could've gone either way. A new deception follows in the first match of the new league, VIII.401, as well as the B's lose their first points in a league game against G_Saray: 1-1.

The B's pick up their old winning routine after the first match, but in the 6th match of the season the B's lose for the first time in a league game. Demon Devils proves way too strong: the B's are wiped off the field with no less than 1-5 (at home!). Although... wiped of the field... closer inspection tells us this was not only the B's first loss (and by the way up to this day their biggest loss in a league match!), it was also the B's first encounter with the Match engine in a Bad Mood. In other words: the B's were screwed hopelessly. If you don't believe me: here's the matchid: 28561498.

On December 7th, 2004 another big player is bought. Valeriy Derepa joins the B's and starts of training immediately. Valeriy would immediately become the favourite player of manager larsw84 and currently, almost 4,5 RL years later, still is playing for the B's. He's an excellent coach now and still a very valuable player, at titanic PM, formidable passing and passable defending.

Shortly before the second match against Demon Devils the B's board decides to use some extreme measures not to let a horrible defeat happen again: coach Robin is fired and replaced by Vasile Sãraru. This has the desired effect: now it's the B's turn to wipe Demon Devils off the field, with no less than 0-5. With that the B's regain the first position in the league. A few days later another stud trainee joins the B's: Per Jansson, who also still plays for the B's, currently at brilliant PM with inadequate passing, defending ánd winger. Victim of these new trainees, among others, is Massimo Laterza, who unfortunately had to be sold although he will never be forgotten by the B's and may eventually return one day as an assistant.

The B's finish the season winning all other games and thus winning the league title. They eventually finish 7 goals in front of number 2 Demon Devils, again scoring the most goals and conceding the least. Forward Ran Ben Avraham shares the top scorer title with 2 players from Demon Devils with 11 goals.
Third Season
The new season, in VII.873, contains one of the most boring periods in the history of the B's. In the middle of the season they have no less than 6 consecutive Walk Overs. Fortunately, the active managers are also active on the league conference, making up a lot for the boring game time. Also, the battle for the title is a tough one, since the three active teams in the league, V.V.O. United, America de Amsterdam and Blaakers, prove formidable opponents. But despite that, the B's again manage to win the league, with only one lost game. During the season two other important players are bought: trainee Allan Gisselmann and forward Boris Malicet, who besides excellent scoring and passable passing also has brilliant set pieces skill. Malicet would prove a formidable weapon later on in the history of the B's. Already this season he won the B's the match against Blaakers by scoring twice from set pieces.
Seasons in VIth division
The first season in VI.540 marks the most difficult season for the B's up to this day. Although winning the first match 5-0, the B's find themselves at an 8th and last position halfway the season with only 4 points gathered. The B's board has already intervented by then and hired coach Priidu Joon, who apart from a solid coach skill also has passable leadership. This gives the B's the edge they need: they start winning games again, and one match day before the last they manage to avoid relegation with a wonderful 1-0 victory on the strong V.V. de Wiendhappers. The B's eventually finish 5th.

In the second season in VI.540, The B's have had no relegation worries whatsoever, and secured the third place one match day before the last. In the KNVB Beker, the B's didn't do half bad either, reaching the 4th round.

The third season in VI.540 brought success again. The B's managed to win the title, losing just one game (their last) and tieing two. The B's even autopromoted to division V, something that wasn't really planned but the B's had to deal with nonetheless. In the Cup, the fourth round was reached again.
Current season
The B's now play in division V.45 and are currently 4th after winning two games and losing two others. The B's have bought a couple of new players: their first world class defender, Stanislav Kunitsyn, and their first two brilliant forwards, Diego Rubio and Šime Alvir. To accommodate that, some other players had to be sold, including two time topscorer Boris Malicet.

So far, the new players have done the B's quite good. The hatstatsrecord has gone up from 180 last season to 239 now, and the starrecord now is 50 instead of 45 last season. Whether this will be enough to achieve this season's goal (not relegating) remains to be seen though.

In the Cup, the B's managed to break their club record by reaching the 5th round, in which they were eliminated.
Arena
The Heavenly Hive
The B's arena is called The Heavenly Hive. No need to explain that a Hive should be the home of the B's, but the fact it's a Heavenly Hive might be a tad strange for Killer B's. The reason for that is that the B's want to maintain a friendly image. With a name such as 'The Hell Hive' the atmosphere surrounding the club would have been one of negativity. Now, the positive stands out, also because the B's commonly refer to themselves as, well, the B's, and not The Killer B's.
History
Initially The Heavenly Hive offered place for just 7000 spectators. The B's management soon realised that wouldn't be enough, so on July 18th, 2004 they expanded the Hive to 10000 seats. However, on the first match in the new stadium The Heavenly Hive was sold out already, so only 3 months later, on October 29th, 2004 the Hive was no less than doubled in size. Not long thereafter, all constructors announced prices to expand would double, so the B's quickly reacted to that and expanded to 5000 more seats on January 26th, 2005. Just one season later, the construction costs were to be doubled again, so the fans of the B's were in for quite a shock when they returned from there vacation on June 3rd, 2005: The Heavenly Hive was doubled again, to the current size of 50000 seats.

On April 28th, 2006, The Heavenly Hive was the venue for the friendly U20 clash between U-20 Guatemala and U-20 Taiwan (3-3).

On November 3rd a trainee is bought that today is still a trainee at the B's: Flemming Hansson. Bought at inadequate PM (with passable passing) he's currently at brilliant PM.

Valeriy would immediately become the favourite player of manager larsw84 and is currently also the B's best player, now at magnificent PM and passable defending.

Starting in the at that time brand new Dutch IXth division, the B's worked themselves up to the Vth division by winning three consecutive championships in respectively IX.314, VIII.401 and VII.873, and a 4th title in their third season in VI.540. --Shyrlden 23:31, 28 November 2005 (UTC): sorry, but i think your links on the HT-diploma page are wrong. the goal of the test is that all differnt pages are checked by a user. If a task is "hire specalists" the link must be the "club page" with the "hire&fire buttons". the same for the other challenges (overview page, players page, economic page, match page etc.)
series naming conventions
Want to try to come up with a better convention for naming series in the US? Check out this page and you'll see what the problem is: :category:USA Series

Problem is if you put US first, on the root category page everything gets sorted together. If you only put, for example, V.186, it's not distinguished from all the V.186s in various countries. How about "V.186_US"? Alternately, it could be "USA_V.186". The slash just kinda looks bad. The underscore I think is better because it gets interpreted as a space.

My preference: V.186_US. --Septimusjm 00:41, 1 December 2005 (UTC)
Hi Catalyst,

I saw you making the following comment in an edit summary:
User pages belong on your, well, user page, unless you've done something notable
(ie won the Cup, made Div 1, held a NT position, etc

Does that mean that I, as current U20 Coach of Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) should have a 'normal' page? And if yes, what should I do with my User page?

Thanks in advance for your answer. --larsw84 17:41, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

I don't think, that it's good idea to have such page at all. Or I do not understand the purpose of it. As initially stated "and were either banned, locked, heavily fined, or known in other ways for remarkable behaviour". Excuse me, but since when, cheating, misbehaving in forrums, etc (all things, fow which you might get banned is a remarkable). And it's meant to have this banned list of "honour", then Rondell-Beene certainly does NOT belong here. At last, thousands users are remarkable in their own way. For me none of these guys are role models in Hattrick. If everyone will add their rescpected users here, then it will grow to be the same like Users page. I agree with Catalyst2950 vote for removal of this page. --LA-Motto 18:36:08, 2005-12-15 (UTC)
There is alaready category Users, where it's said "Some famous users of Hattrick.". Users, that are listed there are alredy more known, than the ones here. I am against the idea to make some kind of black list from this page. And discussions which users are worth to be on this "special category" will lead only flamewar. So, if noone will give a good reason, I would say - we need to remove this page, and all the users that are here redirect to Users category. --LA-Motto 11:17:08, 2005-12-16 (UTC)
----
To all: the users initially listed on this page were (in)famous in HT-Nederland and België only. In fact there used to be a line on this page stating only Dutch and Belgian users should be listed here.

LA-Motto: your solution would completely eliminate the entire reason why this page is here, but judging from what you say that is exactly what you want. I agree with you a page/category like this could potentially cause some problems, but that wouldn't be a reason for me not to give it a go - we could always remove the page once these problems actually occur. Also, I think the users that started this page take some pride in actually being infamous. So for that group of users, this page certainly has some (personal) value.

Not sure whether personal value should be a reason to keep a page though. Maybe community value is the standard? Although I could imagine a group of users actually finding a page/category like this funny. --larsw84 12:41, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
----
Lars, I was actually the one removing the "Netherlands and Belgium only" link, since that sort of page reservation is not desirable IMO. If there is a page for infamous users, let is be for all of Hattrick's infamous users.
I agree that it's best to not remove page AND category but I'm still in favour of removing the page and creating a category - infamous users still have their own area, and mark, without everything becoming a mess. --Boucoudabou 13:34, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
I fully agreed with you removing that line, B. But that as a sidenote.

Anyways, how are we going to change this into a category? We would need to alter quite a few links then wouldn't we? --larsw84 13:52, 16 December 2005 (UTC)

----
After all this reasoning I still see, that it's totaly fine to have this information about infamous users in Hattrick. Nevertheless, all of them should be put in the Users category. And then in the users page it should be written, what so infamous he did to be written in. Nevertheless, Wiki is a collaborative ressource, thus it's fine for me to stick to majority oppinion - Category instead of topic. Thus I will try to do it --LA-Motto 08:25:21, 2005-12-17 (UTC)
----
Something went wrong with the redirect. If you are redirected to the Category page via the former Infamous Hattrickers page, you only see the article part of the category, but not the list of articles in the category.
Tactics and Training
The training scheme you choose determines the formation and tactics you may use effectively to a large extent, as you can only maximise training by using certain formations.

* Scoring trainers can use 3-4-3 or 4-3-3 or even 2-5-3 or 5-2-3. The last two will most likely generate confusion.
* Playmaking trainers can use 3-5-2 or 4-5-1 or even 5-5-0 or 2-5-3. The last two will most likely generate confusion.
* Defence trainers can use 5-4-1 or 5-3-2 or even 5-5-0 or 5-2-3. The last two will most likely generate confusion.

Goalkeeper or wing training allow more formation flexibility.

Of course, it is always possible to use alternative formations, but this will mean you are unable to maximise training for the week.

At all times be sure that you do not have more than 3 players playing on same position, or you'll lose training for the week. E.g. 3-5-2 with 2 wingers and one extra inner midfieder is perfectly legal, while 3-5-2 with a single winger and 4 inner midfielders will lose you training.

The players may get injured, allowing for one of your substitutes to enter the game. A player assigned "Sub (forward)" will enter the field, should one of your forwards get injured. If you don't have a substitute assigned to a certain position, or if the substitute is injured as well, one of the other substitutes will automatically get selected to play. If you don't have any able substitutes as your regular players get injured, you'll have to continue the game with 10 players. Always remember to name a goalkeeper for the game, if you don't, an outfield player will move to the goalkeeper spot, thereby disrupting your overall tactics. Also remember that you must start your, games with at least 9 players, to avoid a walk over, which will lose you a week's training for all players in your squad, as well as a portion of your club's supporters.

There are also five types of general tactics that you can use. These can be described as a common intention that the team has. All tactics except "Normal" have a benefit and a disadvantage, so choose carefully.

These tactics are described in detail in the Tactics section or Chapter 11 of the rules: Tactics.

See also
The following are some special advanced tactics. Explanations will be found on their own pages.

*All out tactics.
*Norwegian tactics.
*All ahead full.
External resources
* ABC of tactics

Penalty takers
This function only applies under special circumstances. If a cup game or qualifier ends in a draw after extra-time, a penalty shoot-out is held. Before a cup game or a qualifier, you should decide the order of your penalty takers. This can be done with a special orders form under the regular orders list.

Both the player's routine and his skill at set pieces should be taken into consideration. The player least skilled at these abilities should be at the bottom of this list - penalty shoot-outs rarely go on beyond the first 10 penalties. Note that the first penalty taker is always the same as the one taking the set pieces during the regular game. If you change the first name on the special orders form for penalty shoot-outs, this is the same as changing the regular orders form on set pieces. The other 10 penalty takers can only be changed around by using the special orders form.

As for the order of the first 5 penalty takers, it isn't important. All teams start off with five penalties each, and if the game is still drawn after that, it'll proceed with sudden-death penalties – each team taking one penalty each until it's all been decided.

Larsw84: Removed all those players

A team is the virtual football team one owns and manages in Hattrick. It consists of a number of virtual football players, usually between 20 and 30 (maximum 50). The manager chooses a formation with 11 of these players for each game, plus 5 substitutes.

If the 50-players limit is exceeded, Training is lost for that week. Please take note that the Coach is considered a player, as he may well play (and often does!)

Each player has an individual name, and is made up of assorted skills, personality, form, experience and specialties. He'll also have an ideal position, but you'll need to work that out through experience!

Skills
Each player has 8 basic skills, which can be improved through training, and decline with age. These skills are Stamina, Playmaking, Wing, Scoring, Goalkeeping, Passing. Defending and Set Pieces. Each of these skills has a a value between disastrous and divine.

Form
Form is one of the most important characteristics for any player, determining how well he is able to use his skills. You'll note that a good player who is out of form will often be outperformed by a not so good player at the top of his game.

Experience
Some players may not have the greatest abilities, but their nouse and knowledge of the game more than makes up for it. Thus, old and experienced players often play much better than their younger, greener colleagues.

For a full discussion, click here.

Player Specialties
Some of the players in Hattrick have specialties that differentiate them from other players. A player may have only one specialty, and no more.

The five specialties are Head, Technical, Powerful, Quick and Unpredictable

To learn more about the diffrent specialties and how they affect the match, click here.

Personality
Finally, a player also has four personality characteristics, leadership, agreeability, honesty and aggressiveness.

Injury and Suspension
All this is well and good, but sometimes a player isn't able to play...

Injuries
It won't matter how good a player really is if he's not on form or is injured.<BR><BR>Sometimes players get injured. If this is the case, the injury, unless very slight, will put them on the treatment table for a couple of games. The risk of injuries increases as the team increases the intensity of training. Older players take longer to heal than young ones. You should also remember that the injury times stated are only estimates. A +1 injury could heal within 3 days with the assistance of doctors, but equally if your 35 year old star forward has a week-long injury, it might take him 10 or 11 days to get fit again.

For more information, see Injury

Yellow and red cards
Players may get booked or sent off during games. Two bookings during a match will automatically lead to the player being sent off. Bookings and Sending-Offs during competitive games eventually lead to a suspensions. A player will be suspended for the next match if he is sent off, or if he has accumulated 3 bookings during a season. This is shown by a red card symbol on the player page. You can also see how many yellow cards have been received so far. At the end of the season all cards are cleared.

Whilst a player can receive cards during friendly matches, they have no other effects than those seen during the game.

Highly aggressive players will tend to be booked more often than other players. Especially if they're also dishonest or lacking in experience.

History

On November 3rd a trainee is bought that today is still a trainee at the B's: Flemming Hansson. Bought at inadequate PM (with passable passing) he's currently at brilliant PM.

Valeriy would immediately become the favourite player of manager larsw84 and is currently also the B's best player, now at magnificent PM and passable defending.

Current seasons
The first season in VI.540 marks the most difficult season for the B's up to this day. Although winning the first match 5-0, the B's find themselves at an 8th and last position halfway the season with only 4 points gathered. The B's board has already intervented by then and hired coach Priidu Joon, who apart from a solid coach skill also has passable leadership. This gives the B's the edge they need: they start winning games again, and one match day before the last they manage to avoid relegation with a wonderful 1-0 victory on the strong V.V. de Wiendhappers. The B's eventually finish 5th.

Currently, the B's are playing their second season in VI.540. The B's have had no relegation worries whatsoever this time, and have secured the third place one match day before the last. A second place also still is possible, but looks unlikely. In the KNVB Beker, the B's didn't do half bad either, reaching the 4th round.
Trophies

The Tactics Fed is governed by a board of four: Robertm, larsw84, and the two Chairmans semenko and kzarik, who earned their positions by being very valuable members to the federation. Other top members include Mod-Kerem, who has been with Tactics since the early days, and Pirats, who recently has done a lot of great work for the fed, especially with his U20 match analyses.

Tactics also has an IRC Channel on the Quakenet Server: #ht.tactics. It's not all too active though.

History
On September 28th, 2003 Mavuba decided to start a federation. Mainly because he didn't like to have a conference that was policed by strict Mods, GMs and HTs. That's why he and Buul came up with the plan to pull out to a drilling platform between The Netherlands and England, where only we could be in control of. The federation on the island Sealand soon became a great success, and soon many ships with members arrived!

After a short period of time the federation got the name of being a bad federation, full of annoying, spamming youngsters. For example, within a short amount of time the island found itself in war with some Mods & GMs, but also in a spam-war with OLDER (a federation for people who are thirty years or older.). After a long period of negotiations the battle ended and the peace with the Mods was restored.

Sealand now is known for being a nice cosy federation, where the best spammers of HT-Nederland and België have a great time doing their thing.

Sealand also is an island where 'Infamous Hattrickers' can hide.
Like almost all other federations Tactics too had a members boost after the 5-federation rule was introduced, but after the first few weeks Tactics reverted back to their calm and steady growth.

Currently, the federation has almost 550 members.

Top members
The Tactics Fed is governed by a board of four: Robertm, larsw84, and the two Chairmans semenko and kzarik, who earned their positions by being very valuable members to the federation. Other top members include Mod-Kerem, who has been with Tactics since the early days, and Pirats, who recently has done a lot of great work for the fed, especially with his U20 match analyses.

Tactics furthermore uses a promotion system: the most active members get promoted. There are promotion rounds every two months and members can only be promoted one level up each time. There are 6 levels members can promote to: from top to bottom Tactical Professor, Tactical Manager, Tactical Teacher, Tactical Coach, Tactical Instructor and Tactical Guide. Currently, the fed has three Tactical Instructors and 12 Tactical Guides.

On November 3rd a trainee is bought that today is still a trainee at the B's: Flemming Hansson. Bought at inadequate PM (with passable passing) he's currently at brilliant PM.

Valeriy would immediately become the favourite player of manager larsw84 and is currently also the B's best player, now at magnificent PM and passable defending.

Against the at that time in VI playing HGC the B's unfortunately lose only 3 to 4 in a match that could've gone either way. A new deception follows in the first match of the new league, VIII.401, as well as the B's lose their first points in a league game against G_Saray: 1-1.

On November 3rd a trainee is bought that today is still a trainee at the B's: Flemming Hansson. Bought at inadequate PM (with passable passing) he's currently at brilliant PM.

Valeriy would immediately become the favourite player of manager larsw84 and is currently also the B's best player, now at magnificent PM and passable defending.

The B's turned out to be the best team by far in their first league, the IX.314. All 14 games are won, the B's score the most goals and have to concede least (only 6!). They finish 12 points ahead of the number two, real foppie united.
We have a weekly Pre-Game help thread in which every member can ask for some pre-game advice from their fellow tacticians for his/her upcoming league clash! We have a Post-Game thread as well.

We are tacticians helping tacticians. We help “each other” to become better tactical managers. The Tactics Fed is meant for new managers as well as experienced managers: No gurus, no mentors, no options over-looked!

History
The Tactics Fed was founded on September 18th, 2004 by President Robertm and Vice-President larsw84. The fed immediately started to grow at a relatively slow, but constant pace. The fed got a nice Christmas present: the 100 member mark was reached on December 25th, 2004.

On November 3rd a trainee is bought that today is still a trainee at the B's: Flemming Hansson. Bought at inadequate PM (with passable passing) he's currently at brilliant PM.

Valeriy would immediately become the favourite player of manager larsw84 and is currently also the B's best player, now at magnificent PM and passable defending.
