I'm trying to sort out the achievements by category and by points they give. I'd also like them to be written exactly as they are written in Hattrick. The six achievements I have put under team and manager achievements are the ones I have seen, and will propably be rather soon visible in most of the achievement pages.
"Den Grafen machen" is a german expression coined in the Deutschland-Forum and means to leave Hattrick in a manner as spectacular as possible, causing an uproar. Similar to how former german manager GM-Graf (afterwards GrafK) left Hattrick: setting a 0-0-0 formation during the first Hattrick Masters competition. Also used in the meaning as "get lost", like in "mach doch den Grafen".
This expression was first used at the time of this occurance and is not undisputed, being seen as a somewhat nasty view of the events.
GrafK was banned from Hattrick because of illegal usage of his GM-functions, as HT-Tjecken told at the german conference in May 2006.

Does the 2nd in Div 8 really play a qualifier? Until now i thought otherwise and i do not find a hint in the editorial which interpretation is correct.

/Mjoelnir

Well, just consider the number of divisions at each level:<br>
V - 256 divisions (x2 = 512 auto-demoting from 7th or 8th and 512 playing qualifier)<br>
VI - 1024 divisions (#1 makes up 1024 teams, so 512 play qualifiers and 512 auto-promote) (x2 = 2048 teams auto-demoting, 2048 teams w/ qualifier)<br>
VII - 1024 divisions (#1 makes up 1024 teams who auto-promote, #2 is 1024 teams who also auto-promote, then 2048 from 3 and 4 who have a qualifier) (x2 = 2048 auto-demoting, 2048 w/ qualifier)<br>
VIII - 2048 divisions (#1 = 2048 teams, #2 = 2048 teams)<br>

So, you would assume that all the #1s would auto-promote and all the #2s would play a qualifier, as is done with the 1-2s and 3-4s now. But, no, this hasn't been confirmed, I just thought it was by far the most logical conclusion.
In a german (language, not nationality) conference a swiss GM said that no relegation matches will take place. That was posted in an FAQ thread, so i consider this to be information coming directly from HTs and to be checked by his colleagues for accuracy. You can find it here (5591227.1), although you would need a translator or to be able to understand german.
At this moment it has become absolutely clear that there will only be direct promotions in the lower divisions (see any leaguepage and promotion.asp). I'm not sure I have the time now to modify the page properly GM-Lau 12:46, 23 April 2006 (UTC)

De table in the section Promotion on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hattrick is already updated, so maybe you could copy paste that although the text beneath is not okay yet. /GM-CableGuy

I think we don't need to change the text below, as the current shorter one (in comparision to wikipedia) is quite understandable and doesn't reference specific division levels. Instead it explains the general concept. So copying the table should be enough. Which just happened.
Promotion

If you win your league, you may be entitled to promotion. Promotion can be seperated into two sections:

Automatic Promotion:
if you have more points than half of the other teams in your division come the end of the season. you will be promoted automatically.

Qualification:
If you have less points than half of the other teams in the divison come the end of the season, you will have to play a qualifier. These are played against the team in the division above you who are placed either 5th or 6th. If you win the qualifier you are promoted to that division.

Pros of Promotion

- 10% increase in number of supporters

- A likely increase in sponsor money next season as you go through the games

- More crowds

Cons of promotion

- You may be in a difficult league and lose every game (but hey, at least you gave it a go)

It is important to realise that promotion is a good thing, however, there is always a chance of relegation

Mjoelnir: /* Counter attack */ exact maximum loss of possesion

:This article is about tactics as a special order (CA, AIM, etc). For other meanings, see Tactics (disambiguation).

Introduction
There are five individual types of tactic within Hattrick, listed with a brief explanation below. Fuller details can be found on the individual pages. Each tactic's effectiveness (except Play creatively) depends on certain skills of your players. Also, all of them have drawbacks that should be taken into consideration when using them.

__TOC__

Counter attack
Counter Attacks is a tactic which involves giving up midfield dominance in an attempt to score goals by counter-attacking. It can be very effective when used by a suitable team. This tactic is mostly chosen by defender trainers who have a very strong defense but a weak midfield. A team playing counter attacks takes a penalty of about 7% to its midfield rating compared to playing normal &mdash; note that the corresponding loss of possession will always be less than 1.81% (350/193% exactly).

Pressing
Pressing means that all of your players try to put pressure on their opponents. They also put slightly more effort into breaking up your opponent's attacks than trying to create their own. The result is that the total number of potential chances in the game gets reduced for both teams. When you play pressing, all your players (except the goalkeeper) need stamina and defending.

Attack in the Middle
When using AIM, your team attempts to make more of your attacks down the centre of the pitch, at the expense of attacks on the wings. In other words, you trade attacks down the wings for attacks through the centre. You get a straight one for one exchange, so the total number of attacks remains constant. The disadvantage of this tactic is that your wing defence becomes somewhat worse.

Attack on Wings
This works in the same way as AIM, only in reverse. Instead of more attacks coming in the center, you get more of your attacks on the wings. Similarly to AIM, the disadvantage is that it weakens your central defence.

Play Creatively
When you use Play Creatively, there is a greater chance that special events (both positive and negative) will occur for both teams during the match. If both teams use Play Creatively, the chance for special events will become even higher. Teams playing creatively will be less focused on the defense, thus losing some defensive ability. Playing creatively will probably be good for SE-optimized teams (i.e. for teams that have many players with specialties).

Sometimes players get injured and there is not a lot you can do about it. Even if a team has many physiotherapists, injuries do still occur.

The time for injuries to heal ranges from +1 to +9 (note that the + sign represents the red cross you can see in HT if a player is injured). Note that allthough the injury time is displayed in weeks, the actual healing time may vary. This is primarely dependent on the age of the player. The older he gets, the longer it will take to heal. The weeks displayed are just a standarized indication of the severeness of the injury.
You can hire doctors to speed up the healing process. Physiotherapists will help players prevent injuries in the first place.

A player can not play as long as he's injured and his name will show up red in the match orders screen. If you do try to field him anyway, he will be replaced by a substitute as soon as the match begins.<br>When he's close to recovery (+1) he is able to follow training, but he can't appear in matches yet. Once he's really almost recovered he gets a bandage next to his name instead of the red plus. Now he can play matches again and his name will show up black again in the match orders screen, but he will perfom slightly below his capacities. Once the bandage is removed he's back to his old level, that is if he did get a major form crisis in the meantime.
Several sites and helper applications offer tables or calculators to predict how long an injury will take to heal. ===Connection between TSI and displayed length of injury===

There is a connection between the number of weeks Hattrick displays for an injury and the TSI a player has.

number of weeks=10*(1-tsi2/tsi1)

where tsi1: TSI when player is not injured (so usually at the time directly before the injury, let's say e.g. 9310)<br>
tsi2: TSI now (e.g. 7000)

Hattrick would then display a +2. Injuries have a sublevel so it is actually between 2.47 to 2.49 as TSI has a granularity of 10. You should be aware that tsi1 is only known if there is no form change or training after the player was last healthy.

Doctors help injured players rehabilitate faster, with more doctors meaning faster healing. If you employ more than ten doctors there is a chance that your supporter mood will drop at every daily update until you reduce the number to at least ten. You are nonetheless able to use upto a maximum of 255 docs. Each additional doctor has a degressive effect (that means ten docs don't heal twice as fast as five do).
The best theory (so far) regarding the influence of docs works as follows:

TSI-increase=Const. * (Y+1)^(0.2155)

Y is the number of docs

The formula should be valid, when there are no docs. There is still healing then, so it shouldn't give a 0. If you have no docs, the healing rate would be Const., the natural healing rate (depending on the age of the player in question).

When having e.g. 2 docs the healing rate would be (2+1)^0.2155=3^0.2155=1.27 (times Const. of course). So it increases by 27%.

It is an exponential function, thats what the ^ stands for.
