'''The Alliance''' was established in November 2003 when a group of users came together to form a [[federation]] in which they could discuss life, the universe, and everything in between.

Fast forward several years later, and the Alliance is now a hive of activity, with a large number of active users.

The Alliance's motto is "Strength Through Unity", and is one of [[Oceania]]'s largest federations.

= A Brief history =
The Oceanian Conference ([[OC]]) is in turmoil. The [[Moderator|Mod]]s and [[GameMaster|GM]]s are struggling to keep up with the spam of many users and it's become a place that few rational people like to visit. A group of rebels under the leadership of Envelopes, Nemesis1980, -rath- and Magnum_ decided to form a federation where they can chat with like minded folk without the usual crap that goes on in the OC. The 4th member Woosha asked several of his friends ... real life friends as well as those he often chatted to in the #IV.56 chat room ... to join up as well so that the federation can stay alive and many of those in turn invite other friends.

Before to long there were between 20-30 members and things were humming along nicely. Everyone seemed to share the same sense of humour ... fights were very rare ... knowledge was shared ... but it didn't take long for several of the "in jokes" that started in The Alliance to find their way into the OC and OC Non-HT conferences. More and more people wanted to join this Fed and although we were pleased with the upturn in numbers, we tried to keep to our policy of only letting in those who shared the same sense of humour and didn't take things to seriously. Before long a Black List was formed.

Membership still increased quickly and our numbers grew past the 100 member mark. Increasingly threads were started in the OC complaining because so-and-so wasn't let into our Fed. But in The Alliance people still talked openly about most things ... including these people who were annoyed about being denied entry. Most people felt justified in rejecting these people's applications because of the way they acted like spoilt children when they weren't let in. But as time went by, it was inevitable that some of this talk would be leaked either purposely or inevertantly to those who were so vocal about not being allowed in. This is how what became known as the Alliance v Axis Wars started.

[[The Axis]] forces led by Dudley, -rogs- and -Finiqs- along with j0nesy started a big campaign in the OC about how truly evil the Alliance members were. "How dare they have negative opinions about people like Dudekrulz, -rogs- and -Finiqs-!!!" was the catch cry and the Alliance copped plenty of flak in the OC. "They could be talking badly about you too in their Fed!!!" So in protest they formed The Axis to be a utopian federation where no one was talked about badly and anyone would be let in.

The Alliance numbers went down a little but despite the bad publicity, most members wanted to continue with not letting just anyone in the [[federation]]. Before too long, most of this was forgotten in the OC. Many think it's because a high percentage of OC regulars have the attention span of a goldfish ... other think it's because The Alliance secretly run HT and have been putting mind-supressing drugs into the watersupplies of the world. The general consensus seems to think it's because a decent percentage of members in the Alliance are very interesting, funny and mature people (such as Kitto) who have generally reacted well to the many hurdles this fed has had to cross, despite seemingly overpopulation in this federation.

There are other parts of our history that have passed over ... the small battle against one or two of the GTFO fed members over their bragging about block voting and game fixing ... the Alliance being accused of block voting in Rep Team elections (silly seeing everytime it came up the Alliance had members filling to top 2-5 spots in the final results) ... internal competitions like Addy's YP Lucky Slap, the TalBourne Awards, Survivor, Alliance Cup etc ... TGS ... How Did I Looooose!!! ... and so on. But those are stories for another time :)

=Alliance Competitions =

== The T.A.L.B.O.U.R.N.E Awards ==

The T.A.L.B.O.U.R.N.E Award is the Alliance's weekly [[youth pull]] competition and runs for a season. Named after The Alliance's first President due to his ability to pull amazing [[youth pull]]s early in the season.

The T.A.L.B.O.U.R.N.E Award - The Alliance Lucky Bastard at Once Underservedly Richer 'N Everyone Award.
Score will be calculated by:
TSI + (Age Bonus) / 10 = T.A.L.B.O.U.R.N.E Award points for that player.

Age Bonus : {17yo = 50 bonus points}{18yo = 20 bonus points}{19yo+ = zero bonus points}
Keepers will have their TSI quartered (divided by 4) before age bonus calculation as no secondaries are required.

Youth pulls not posted by Wednesday 04:00 HT may not be counted.

With the introduction of the new youth squad, the Talbourne awards are on hiatus.

=== The Current System ===

In season 35, [[Cyntech]] resurrected the Talbourne Awards with a new system. The new system uses the popular Hattrick ratings [http://www.fantamondi.it/HTMS/index.php?page=htmspoints&lang=en&action=calc HTMS] potential and ability to gauge the strength of a youth pull.

The rating was calculated like this: 
(Ability / 10) + (Potential / 100) = Talbourne Rating (rounded to 2 decimal places)

This iteration also fell into disuse as the federation dwindled in size due to exorbitant supporter prices.

In season 49, '''Natstradamus''' resurrected the Award once more, this time on the Oceanian Forum using purely the HTMS potential score with a small adjustment for Goalkeepers.

== A.D.R.I.A.N.G Awards ==

The now defunct A.D.R.I.A.N.G Awards were originally set up by Adriang after a user signed his guestbook saying they slapped his head for good luck in their [[youth pull]]. Strangely enough, they were awarded with a [[youth pull]] worthy of Talbourne and the A.D.R.I.A.N.G awards became a weekly competition in which Adriang would listen to people's tales of woe and award a "slap of his wig" to the winners.

The most surprising thing about the A.D.R.I.A.N.G Awards was that on several occasions, the slappers were rewarded with some very high quality [[youth pull]]s and the legend of the wig grew until Adriang became lethargic and deemed it that anyone who thought themselves worthy could slap the wig. It soon became clear that nobody thought they were worthy and the award disappeared.

==Alliance Soccertips Survivor ==

Started and controlled by The Alliance's ex-Vice President, Trixibelle, the weekly Soccertips survivor revolves around several matches being selected and participants having to predict the scores of the matches. Scores are tallied weekly and the member(s) who find themselves at the bottom of the table each week are ejected from the Alliance and have to perform some tasks within the [[Hattrick]] [[conference]]s to be allowed back in.

Soccertips survivor died a slow protracted death, and was last seen circa season 14. In recent times however, it has made a short lived resurgence, with Trixi running the competition for a few seasons to the end of Season 26, whereupon she promptly retired from the task and survivor went into a season of survivor dark ages.

After a desparate plea for help from VP rorzer (Something along the lines of "Can you do survivor to stop me sticking a pen in my eye"), Esquatcho_Mundo agreed to get survivor back into the light. He grew the survivor support base starting in season 28, making important changes such as renaming the survivor chamption to "Alliance Soccertips Survivor Champion of the World (ASSCOW)" and paying for supporter for said champion.

His reign culminated in the glory of his role within the Alliance being named after 2 time Oceanian player of the year, the 0 star goal scoring champion, 'Notis Fofikos'. Challenges were plentiful and funny (Except those completed by TT--TT)and gooutside must have special mention for his roflmao inducing efforts. However, like all golden ages, the glory period crashed in a fiery blaze as Esquatcho_Mundo ran out of time circa season 30. Gooutside tried to revive the interest, but alas having 3 separate season 6 threads confused the angry mob enough that noone tipped anymore.

Only time will tell if survivor can rise from the ashes like the phoenix to once again reign havock upon unsuspecting forums.

== Alliance Cup ==
Each season since the start of the Alliance, the Alliance Cup has been held. While it hasn't kept the same format every season, it has managed to find a winner every season.

= Controversies =

Over the seasons, The Alliance has been involved in several controversies, both inside and outside of the [[federation]].

== The Blacklist ==

As the Alliance was originally conceived to get away from the [[Oceania]] Conference, it was inevitable that not everyone would be allowed into the Alliance.

After a time, the amount of people who were deemed unworthy were noted down and a blacklist was formed. Originally listed in a member's signature (said user was smart enough to turn their sig off outside of the Alliance), it wasn't long before the list grew too big and was secretly added to the Alliance website. Sometimes the blacklist included people outside of hattrick, a couple of well known cases being "the goatface ginger fucking tpth76's ex" and "Sommers' bitch of an ex-girlfriend".

== GTFO and Verbal ==

While not directly related to the Alliance, several Alliance members were the most vocal when former [[U20]] [[Oceania]] manager Verbal colluded with other members of a group known as GTFO to win games that might have otherwise gone against him and also organising the first known "block voting" in [[Oceania]] to get Verbal his first [[U20]] manager position.

== Block Voting accusations ==

After some time, the Alliance had grown to a point where the amount of members could potentially sway the voting and make one of it's members either the [[Oceania]]n manager or [[U-20]] manager.

When election time came and the election for [[U-20]] was won by an Alliance member, accusations started to fly in the [[OC]] that The Alliance had block voted for the member. Considering that around 7 of the top 10 candidates (including the first 3) were all Alliance members could do nothing to sway the doubters.

When an Alliance member then won the next [[election]], these same accustaions were again brought out with similar results.

Behind closed doors in the Alliance there had actually been polls on whether or not they should block vote and it was unanimously decided that it would not be in the interest of the fed and making 100 plus members vote for a certain manager would be impossible anyway.

== The forming of the Axis ==

While now a friendly rivalry, the origins of [[the Axis]] can directly be traced back to the Alliance when posts made inside the federation forums made it out into the [[Oceania]]n conference. Some members of the [[OC]] took offense to these posts and decided to make a [[federation]] directly opposing the Alliance and everything they thought it stood for.

Things were to get worse before they got better and Alliance and the Axis members frequently squared off in the [[Oceania]] conferences. Things have since cooled down and the only rivalry between the two federations is the "Alliance vs Axis Cup" which was a one week playoff between members of both federations at the end of Oceania's 14th and 15th seasons.

The Alliance were comfortable winners in both seasons but the Axis had a few more victories in the second cup than in the first.

==Kitto as President==

The serial pest [[Mod-Kitto|Kitto]], once voted "Most Active member of the Alliance", became President of the Alliance after [[hoodooguru]]'s reign ended during season 19. Despite a number of previous indiscretions, such as causing the removal of poll powers from the Angry Mob, Kitto was elected as president, with crafty puppetmaster [[Pharbo]] as vice president.

There are many constant calls for his removal due to his great sense of humour, awesome leadership and resplendent ideas. Kitto refused to listen and such calls only strengthen his resolve to perform his duty.

At the end of season 24, Kitto stepped down and handed over the presidency to [[Trixibelle]].

'''Cyclones F.C''' is a Hattrick football club from Queensland, Oceania. The club was founded on the 1st of February, 2009 and was originally known as ''Nat's Rats'' before changing name to Cyclones F.C on the 28th of September, 2009. Cyclones F.C. are managed by [[User: NatTheRat1|NatTheRat1]], now known as '''Natstradamus''', and have thus far had reasonable success. The Cyclones were promoted to the Pacific Premier via a qualification match for Season 41. Twice winners of Div VI, four times winners in V, once champions in Div IV, once champions of Div III and twice champions of Div II, the Cyclones floundered for a few seasons, but recent seasons have seen a surge in the team's form. Apart from promotion to the Pacific Premier, Season 36 saw the highlight of the team's history, being defeated in the Final of the Oceanian Cup.

=== Season 26: Nat's Rats ===
On the 3rd of February, 2009 (Season 26), Nat's Rats were born. Starting in Div VI.311, in their first season they topped the league and lost a qualifier. In Season 27, they finished first again and were directly promoted to V.41.

=== Season 28: V.41 ===
At the beginning of Season 28, on the 23rd of August, 2009, the Rats changed their name to the Cyclones F.C. In that season, they finished 5th and survived a qualifier.

Season 29 saw an amazing run of luck, and the Cyclones finished 1st and were directly promoted to Div IV.35.

=== Season 30: IV.35 ===
Unfortunately, in Season 30, the team was only just taking shape, and was simply not up to the task. Playing a combination of 3-4-3 and 2-5-3, while continuing to train Scoring, the Cyclones did manage to get a qualifier, but suffered a humiliating 2-6 defeat in a match many pundits thought they should have won. === Season 31: V.224 ===
Due to various commitments, Season 31 in Div V.224 saw Nat's interest in the game fall away, however the team still won its division and were directly promoted.

=== Season 32: IV.48 ===
Promotion from V back to IV revived Nat's interest, along with an audacious gamble to switch to Playmaking training. Still within reach of a qualifier on the last day of Season 32, the Cyclones were demoted automatically, despite their best efforts and many closely fought games throughout the season. Season 32 will always be remembered fondly by NatTheRat1, due to the outstanding Series Forum contributions by fellow managers JaceTheAce, RevTonka, and Jebbyc, the loss to whom in Week 14 was ultimately responsible for the team's demotion. === Season 33: V.106 ===
In season 33, the Cyclones topped Div V.106. A deliberate loss in the qualifier saw them 'camp' in the division for one more season. This, in Nat's opinion, was called for to stop the rot of 'yoyoing' between divisions. It should be noted that this decision had the wholehearted support of the rest of Div V.106, without whose agreement Nat would have promoted.

=== Season 34: V.106 ===
The Cyclones won the Division and were directly promoted. "Time to go up," is how NatTheRat1 described the team's progress over the journey. Remarkably, they were promoted to what would become the top Div IV in Oceania.

=== Season 35: IV.5 ===

At the end of the season, the Cyclones were sitting pretty on the top of the table, with 13 wins from 14 matches. The season was one heck of a fight with 6 of the 8 teams capable of 300+ hatstats, and the division being ranked No.1 in Oceanian Div IV's. Still, the Cyclones romped home in a season that Nat described as 'surreal'.

=== Season 36: III.9 ===

Prior to the season starting, Nat was excited about the teams prospects, but realistic enough to know it would be tough. Week by week the Cyclones carved through their opposition, collecting a 5 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss record on the way to the mid-point of the season. At this stage Nat was getting even more excited but also concerned that some of his best players were being undertrained and played twice a week, as a Cup Run was brewing. It was soon apparent that it was getting difficult to choose between the League and the Cup. "We need to get knocked out of the Cup soon," he was heard murmuring. Unfortunately, or fortunately, that didn't happen until close to the end of the season! (see 'Cup Runs' below)

=== Season 37: III.9 ===

Season 37 saw the team progress to Div II without a loss.

=== Seasons 38,39 and 40: Div II.1 ===

On promotion, the Cyclones landed in the most difficult Div II series in Oceania. For all three seasons, the division was ranked 2 in the country, and only just behind the Pacific Premier. Cyclones results were sixth, first and first. In season 39, they copped an absolute drubbing in the qualifier, losing 6-0 to Melbourne Minataurs {{Template:Matchid|425224965}}. However, the match engine smiled on the team the following season, with a sensational win vs the highly credentialed Newcastle Knights {{Template:Matchid|440163069}}. Finally the Cyclones were able to wave goodbye to the trap of Div II.1, and into the highest league in the country. A definite 'out of the frying-pan, and into the fire' moment.

=== Season 41: The Pacific Premier ===

In another unbelievable run for the team, in season 41 the Cyclones finished the season second on the ladder by a solitary point. The result was astonishing given the massive chunk of luck they enjoyed combined with injuries and form issues for their opponents. Natstradamus scoffed at the suggestion that managerial prowess was also involved.

=== Season 42: The Pacific Premier ===

The team returned to reality with a thud.

== Cup Runs ==

====The Oceanian Cup ====
In seasons 33 and 34, the Cyclones made it to Round 7.

In Season 33, the Round 7 match vs. Infinite Monkeys (Div II) was an absolute cracker, and Nat was extremely pleased with the eventual 2-3 scoreline, despite the loss. You can check it out here: {{Template:Matchid|331299314}}

In season 34, the Cyclones put up their best ratings to date, amassing an impressive 315 hatstats (MOTS) in their Round 6 win over Div II team, Pukeko HFC. You can check it out here: {{Template:Matchid|346684157}} As expected, they were eliminated in the following match (Round 7) by Pacific Premier team, Hewish FC. Training won out on a coin toss, according to NatTheRat1. "We'll be back," were his final words.

Season 35 saw the team eliminated in the 6th round.

Season 37 saw the team bundled out in Round 7. It was clear that management was focusing on the league, but was it a week or two early? There are rumours that money is tight at the club.

Seasons 38, 39 and 40 were similarly disappointing for the team, with 5th round, 6th round and 8th round exits. The latter considered to be 'acceptable' by Natstradamus.

In Season 41, the Cyclones are still alive in the 10th round, their best result since Season 36.

=== Season 36 ===

Season 36 was a dream. Somehow, the team kept winning tight matches, on PICs till about Round 8, and the run went from 'good' to 'unbelievable' very quickly. When it was all over, the Cyclones had defeated 4 Pacific Premier teams in a row, including the legendary Bondi 1893, on their way to a defeat in the Final to Seraph FC.

Even from a layman's point of view, you can see why the Cup Run of Season 36 was so incredible. Unfortunately, it cost the Cyclones a chance at promotion, with the excitement of the Cup overtaking the League in importance.

==== GMC Cup ====
Management would like it noted in the official Cyclones F.C. history that in Season 33, the team won the [http://wiki.hattrick.org/wiki/The_General_Managers_Club#The_GMC_Cup The GMC Cup]. The Cyclones have competed in the GMC Cup for many seasons, and a combination of having relatively easy opponents in many league matches, and the opportunity to PIC all of them, allowed Nat to field his best team in the GMC Cup with good confidence and TS. Here you can see Luca Weingessl's heroics in the semi-final: {{Template:Matchid|332846240}} And here is the crowning glory of the final: {{Template:Matchid|333044792}} Both matches were at neutral venues.

== The Crimson Horde ==
The current record is 3708 paid-up members.

== Stadium ==
The Eye of the Storm has been regularly upgraded over the seasons. The previous stadium, at 48,073, was sold out in the Round 7, Season 33 Oceanian Cup match vs Infinite Monkeys (see above). As the following League match also sold out, further construction was ordered, and The Eye of the Storm then held 57,000 spectators. A minor adjustment to proportions was called for, bringing the stadium up to 60,000. A further adjustment was called for after several games in season 35, making the stadium a whopping 70,000. Yet another minor adjustment has been ordered at the beginning of Season 38 which saw the stadium stand at an impressive 75,500 capacity. Currently the stadium stands at 85,000 capacity and is unlikely to be improved.

The name of the stadium, and indeed the team, is reminiscent of the sometimes cataclysmic weather in Queensland, and the Eye of the Storm refers to the one place where all is calm despite the whirlwind of emotions and anxiety surrounding the matches played there.

== Coaches ==

The initial coach given to the Cyclones has been lost to history. As has the Solid/Poor coach purchased soon after beginning the game. His name is on the tip of my tongue, but I just can't remember it. In any case, the two major influences on the team were:

=== Patryk Leończyk 20/12/09 - 27/10/11 ===
Patryk oversaw the beginnings of the club's emergence from obscurity, and his influence can not be overstated. A master coach in his own right, Patryk's experience and leadership put the Cyclones on the map. He brought on the youngsters, and he helped put together the pieces that would later take the Cyclones to (near) the top of Oceania.

=== Ferruccio 'Frankie' Della Valle 27/10/11 - 15/5/13 ===
Frankie continued Patryk's work, putting his own twist on the club. A more balanced coach, as opposed to Patryk's more offensive stance, Frankie has made the team into a more rounded and flexible unit. To this day he continues to coach at the high standards expected of him.

=== Robbie Mourish 15/5/13 - Date ===
Robbie is continuing the good work of the previous coaches, managing a highly-skilled and aging squad of experienced professionals.

== The Future ==
Natstradamus sees the writing on the wall, and within a few seasons the team will need to be rebuilt. But at the moment, he thinks there is one or two seasons left in the current side. He is still enjoying the game and also manages a second team since the rules were changed.

== Youth Team ==

For many (youth) seasons The Tornados youth academy competed in the [[The_General_Managers_Club#Youth_League_System|GMC Youth League System]], winning the Division 1 Championship in Season 3. Nowadays, The Tornados are more concerned with Training, and are no longer a part of the competitive GMC YL System.

The Tornados play their home games at the Edge of the Storm, the smaller and slightly less well looked after training ground next to the Eye of the Storm.

Tornados is a well established youth academy and has produced many star players. On the 3rd of February, 2009 (Season 26), Nat's Rats were born. Starting in Div VI.311, in their first season they topped the league and lost a qualifier. In Season 27, they finished first again and were directly promoted to V.41.

At the beginning of Season 28, on the 23rd of August, 2009, the Rats changed their name to the Cyclones F.C. In that season, they finished 5th and survived a qualifier.

Season 29 saw an amazing run of luck, and the Cyclones finished 1st and were directly promoted to Div IV.35.

Unfortunately, in Season 30, the team was only just taking shape, and was simply not up to the task. Still within reach of a qualifier on the last day of Season 32, the Cyclones were demoted automatically, despite their best efforts and many closely fought games throughout the season. Season 32 will always be remembered fondly by NatTheRat1, due to the outstanding Series Forum contributions by fellow managers JaceTheAce, RevTonka, and Jebbyc, the loss to whom in Week 14 was ultimately responsible for the team's demotion. In season 33, the Cyclones topped Div V.106. A deliberate loss in the qualifier saw them 'camp' in the division for one more season. It should be noted that this decision had the wholehearted support of the rest of Div V.106, without whose agreement Nat would have promoted.

The season was one heck of a fight with 6 of the 8 teams capable of 300+ hatstats, and the division being ranked No.1 in Oceanian Div IV's. Still, the Cyclones romped home in a season that Nat described as 'surreal'.

Prior to the season starting, Nat was excited about the teams prospects, but realistic enough to know it would be tough. Week by week the Cyclones carved through their opposition, collecting a 5 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss record on the way to the mid-point of the season. At this stage Nat was getting even more excited but also concerned that some of his best players were being undertrained and played twice a week, as a Cup Run was brewing. It was soon apparent that it was getting difficult to choose between the League and the Cup. "We need to get knocked out of the Cup soon," he was heard murmuring. Unfortunately, or fortunately, that didn't happen until close to the end of the season! (see 'Cup Runs' below)

Season 37 saw the team progress to Div II without a loss.

On promotion, the Cyclones landed in the most difficult Div II series in Oceania. For all three seasons, the division was ranked 2 in the country, and only just behind the Pacific Premier. Cyclones results were sixth, first and first. In season 39, they copped an absolute drubbing in the qualifier, losing 6-0 to Melbourne Minataurs {{Template:Matchid|425224965}}. However, the match engine smiled on the team the following season, with a sensational win vs the highly credentialed Newcastle Knights {{Template:Matchid|440163069}}. Finally the Cyclones were able to wave goodbye to the trap of Div II.1, and into the highest league in the country. A definite 'out of the frying-pan, and into the fire' moment.

In another unbelievable run for the team, and the halfway point of season 41, the Cyclones are sitting second on the ladder, and their survival in the top flight is assured, at least for one more season.

In seasons 33 and 34, the Cyclones made it to Round 7.

In Season 33, the Round 7 match vs. Infinite Monkeys (Div II) was an absolute cracker, and Nat was extremely pleased with the eventual 2-3 scoreline, despite the loss. You can check it out here: {{Template:Matchid|331299314}}

In season 34, the Cyclones put up their best ratings to date, amassing an impressive 315 hatstats (MOTS) in their Round 6 win over Div II team, Pukeko HFC. You can check it out here: {{Template:Matchid|346684157}} As expected, they were eliminated in the following match (Round 7) by Pacific Premier team, Hewish FC. Training won out on a coin toss, according to NatTheRat1. "We'll be back," were his final words.

Season 35 saw the team eliminated in the 6th round.

Season 37 saw the team bundled out in Round 7. It was clear that management was focusing on the league, but was it a week or two early? There are rumours that money is tight at the club.

Seasons 38, 39 and 40 were similarly disappointing for the team, with 5th round, 6th round and 8th round exits. The latter considered to be 'acceptable' by Natstradamus.

In Season 41, the Cyclones are still alive in the 10th round, their best result since Season 36.

Season 36 was a dream. Somehow, the team kept winning tight matches, on PICs till about Round 8, and the run went from 'good' to 'unbelievable' very quickly. When it was all over, the Cyclones had defeated 4 Pacific Premier teams in a row, including the legendary Bondi 1893, on their way to a defeat in the Final to Seraph FC.

The Cyclones have competed in the GMC Cup for many seasons, and a combination of having relatively easy opponents in many league matches, and the opportunity to PIC all of them, allowed Nat to field his best team in the GMC Cup with good confidence and TS. == Stadium ==
The Eye of the Storm has been regularly upgraded over the seasons. The previous stadium, at 48,073, was sold out in the Round 7, Season 33 Oceanian Cup match vs Infinite Monkeys (see above). As the following League match also sold out, further construction was ordered, and The Eye of the Storm then held 57,000 spectators. A minor adjustment to proportions was called for, bringing the stadium up to 60,000. A further adjustment was called for after several games in season 35, making the stadium a whopping 70,000. Yet another minor adjustment has been ordered at the beginning of Season 38 which saw the stadium stand at an impressive 75,500 capacity. Currently the stadium stands at 85,000 capacity and is unlikely to be improved.

The name of the stadium, and indeed the team, is reminiscent of the sometimes cataclysmic weather in Queensland, and the Eye of the Storm refers to the one place where all is calm despite the whirlwind of emotions and anxiety surrounding the matches played there.

The initial coach given to the Cyclones has been lost to history. As has the Solid/Poor coach purchased soon after beginning the game. His name is on the tip of my tongue, but I just can't remember it. In any case, the two major influences on the team were:

Patryk oversaw the beginnings of the club's emergence from obscurity, and his influence can not be overstated. A master coach in his own right, Patryk's experience and leadership put the Cyclones on the map. He brought on the youngsters, and he helped put together the pieces that would later take the Cyclones to (near) the top of Oceania.

=== Ferruccio 'Frankie' Della Valle 27/10/11 - 15/5/13 ===
Frankie continued Patryk's work, putting his own twist on the club. A more balanced coach, as opposed to Patryk's more offensive stance, Frankie has made the team into a more rounded and flexible unit. To this day he continues to coach at the high standards expected of him.

Nat is an active member of the Oceanian Community, always quick with advice or an acid tongue. His many hours spent helping out on the OC and the Questions (English) forum have resulted in Cyclones F.C. being one of the most supported teams in Oceania. The club was founded on the 1st of February, 2009 and was originally known as ''Nat's Rats'' before changing name to Cyclones F.C on the 28th of September, 2009. The Cyclones were promoted to the Pacific Premier via a qualification match for Season 41. == History ==
=== Season 26: Nat's Rats ===
On the 3rd of February, 2009 (Season 26), Nat's Rats were born. Starting in Div VI.311, in their first season they topped the league and lost a qualifier. In Season 27, they finished first again and were directly promoted to V.41.

=== Season 28: V.41 ===
At the beginning of Season 28, on the 23rd of August, 2009, the Rats changed their name to the Cyclones F.C. In that season, they finished 5th and survived a qualifier.

Season 29 saw an amazing run of luck, and the Cyclones finished 1st and were directly promoted to Div IV.35.

=== Season 30: IV.35 ===
Unfortunately, in Season 30, the team was only just taking shape, and was simply not up to the task. Playing a combination of 3-4-3 and 2-5-3, while continuing to train Scoring, the Cyclones did manage to get a qualifier, but suffered a humiliating 2-6 defeat in a match many pundits thought they should have won. === Season 31: V.224 ===
Due to various commitments, Season 31 in Div V.224 saw Nat's interest in the game fall away, however the team still won its division and were directly promoted.

=== Season 32: IV.48 ===
Promotion from V back to IV revived Nat's interest, along with an audacious gamble to switch to Playmaking training. Still within reach of a qualifier on the last day of Season 32, the Cyclones were demoted automatically, despite their best efforts and many closely fought games throughout the season. Season 32 will always be remembered fondly by NatTheRat1, due to the outstanding Series Forum contributions by fellow managers JaceTheAce, RevTonka, and Jebbyc, the loss to whom in Week 14 was ultimately responsible for the team's demotion. === Season 33: V.106 ===
In season 33, the Cyclones topped Div V.106. A deliberate loss in the qualifier saw them 'camp' in the division for one more season. This, in Nat's opinion, was called for to stop the rot of 'yoyoing' between divisions. It should be noted that this decision had the wholehearted support of the rest of Div V.106, without whose agreement Nat would have promoted.

=== Season 34: V.106 ===
The Cyclones won the Division and were directly promoted. "Time to go up," is how NatTheRat1 described the team's progress over the journey. Remarkably, they were promoted to what would become the top Div IV in Oceania.

=== Season 35: IV.5 ===

At the end of the season, the Cyclones were sitting pretty on the top of the table, with 13 wins from 14 matches. The season was one heck of a fight with 6 of the 8 teams capable of 300+ hatstats, and the division being ranked No.1 in Oceanian Div IV's. Still, the Cyclones romped home in a season that Nat described as 'surreal'.

=== Season 36: III.9 ===

Prior to the season starting, Nat was excited about the teams prospects, but realistic enough to know it would be tough. Week by week the Cyclones carved through their opposition, collecting a 5 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss record on the way to the mid-point of the season. At this stage Nat was getting even more excited but also concerned that some of his best players were being undertrained and played twice a week, as a Cup Run was brewing. It was soon apparent that it was getting difficult to choose between the League and the Cup. "We need to get knocked out of the Cup soon," he was heard murmuring. Unfortunately, or fortunately, that didn't happen until close to the end of the season! (see 'Cup Runs' below)

=== Season 37: III.9 ===

Season 37 saw the team progress to Div II without a loss.

=== Seasons 38,39 and 40: Div II.1 ===

On promotion, the Cyclones landed in the most difficult Div II series in Oceania. For all three seasons, the division was ranked 2 in the country, and only just behind the Pacific Premier. Cyclones results were sixth, first and first. In season 39, they copped an absolute drubbing in the qualifier, losing 6-0 to Melbourne Minataurs {{Template:Matchid|425224965}}. However, the match engine smiled on the team the following season, with a sensational win vs the highly credentialed Newcastle Knights {{Template:Matchid|440163069}}. Finally the Cyclones were able to wave goodbye to the trap of Div II.1, and into the highest league in the country. A definite 'out of the frying-pan, and into the fire' moment.

=== Season 41: The Pacific Premier ===

In another unbelievable run for the team, and the halfway point of season 41, the Cyclones are sitting second on the ladder, and their survival in the top flight is assured, at least for one more season.

== Cup Runs ==

====The Oceanian Cup ====
In seasons 33 and 34, the Cyclones made it to Round 7.

In Season 33, the Round 7 match vs. Infinite Monkeys (Div II) was an absolute cracker, and Nat was extremely pleased with the eventual 2-3 scoreline, despite the loss. You can check it out here: {{Template:Matchid|331299314}}

In season 34, the Cyclones put up their best ratings to date, amassing an impressive 315 hatstats (MOTS) in their Round 6 win over Div II team, Pukeko HFC. You can check it out here: {{Template:Matchid|346684157}} As expected, they were eliminated in the following match (Round 7) by Pacific Premier team, Hewish FC. Training won out on a coin toss, according to NatTheRat1. "We'll be back," were his final words.

Season 35 saw the team eliminated in the 6th round.

Season 37 saw the team bundled out in Round 7. It was clear that management was focusing on the league, but was it a week or two early? There are rumours that money is tight at the club.

Seasons 38, 39 and 40 were similarly disappointing for the team, with 5th round, 6th round and 8th round exits. The latter considered to be 'acceptable' by Natstradamus.

In Season 41, the Cyclones are still alive in the 10th round, their best result since Season 36.

=== Season 36 ===

Season 36 was a dream. Somehow, the team kept winning tight matches, on PICs till about Round 8, and the run went from 'good' to 'unbelievable' very quickly. When it was all over, the Cyclones had defeated 4 Pacific Premier teams in a row, including the legendary Bondi 1893, on their way to a defeat in the Final to Seraph FC.

Even from a layman's point of view, you can see why the Cup Run of Season 36 was so incredible. Unfortunately, it cost the Cyclones a chance at promotion, with the excitement of the Cup overtaking the League in importance.

==== GMC Cup ====
Management would like it noted in the official Cyclones F.C. history that in Season 33, the team won the [http://wiki.hattrick.org/wiki/The_General_Managers_Club#The_GMC_Cup The GMC Cup]. The Cyclones have competed in the GMC Cup for many seasons, and a combination of having relatively easy opponents in many league matches, and the opportunity to PIC all of them, allowed Nat to field his best team in the GMC Cup with good confidence and TS. Here you can see Luca Weingessl's heroics in the semi-final: {{Template:Matchid|332846240}} And here is the crowning glory of the final: {{Template:Matchid|333044792}} Both matches were at neutral venues.

== The Crimson Horde ==
The current record is 3699 paid-up members.

== Stadium ==
The Eye of the Storm has been regularly upgraded over the seasons. The previous stadium, at 48,073, was sold out in the Round 7, Season 33 Oceanian Cup match vs Infinite Monkeys (see above). As the following League match also sold out, further construction was ordered, and The Eye of the Storm then held 57,000 spectators. A minor adjustment to proportions was called for, bringing the stadium up to 60,000. A further adjustment was called for after several games in season 35, making the stadium a whopping 70,000. Yet another minor adjustment has been ordered at the beginning of Season 38 which saw the stadium stand at an impressive 75,500 capacity. Currently the stadium stands at 80,000 capacity and is unlikely to be improved.

The name of the stadium, and indeed the team, is reminiscent of the sometimes cataclysmic weather in Queensland, and the Eye of the Storm refers to the one place where all is calm despite the whirlwind of emotions and anxiety surrounding the matches played there.

== Coaches ==

The initial coach given to the Cyclones has been lost to history. As has the Solid/Poor coach purchased soon after beginning the game. His name is on the tip of my tongue, but I just can't remember it. In any case, the two major influences on the team were:

=== Patryk Leończyk 20/12/09 - 27/10/11 ===
Patryk oversaw the beginnings of the club's emergence from obscurity, and his influence can not be overstated. A master coach in his own right, Patryk's experience and leadership put the Cyclones on the map. He brought on the youngsters, and he helped put together the pieces that would later take the Cyclones to (near) the top of Oceania.

=== Ferruccio 'Frankie' Della Valle 27/10/11 - 15/5/13 ===
Frankie continued Patryk's work, putting his own twist on the club. A more balanced coach, as opposed to Patryk's more offensive stance, Frankie has made the team into a more rounded and flexible unit. To this day he continues to coach at the high standards expected of him.

=== Robbie Mourish 15/5/13 - Date ===
Robbie is continuing the good work of the previous coaches, managing a highly-skilled and aging squad of experienced professionals.

== The Future ==
Natstradamus sees the writing on the wall, and within a few seasons the team will need to be rebuilt. But at the moment, he thinks there is one or two seasons left in the current side. He is still enjoying the game and also manages a second team since the rules were changed.

== Youth Team ==

For many (youth) seasons The Tornados youth academy competed in the [[The_General_Managers_Club#Youth_League_System|GMC Youth League System]], winning the Division 1 Championship in Season 3. Nowadays, The Tornados are more concerned with Training, and are no longer a part of the competitive GMC YL System.

The Tornados play their home games at the Edge of the Storm, the smaller and slightly less well looked after training ground next to the Eye of the Storm.
