Well, as you can see there is still a lot of articles that need to be updated or at least controlled if they're still accurate, especially the ones in the [[:Category:Game Concepts]]. I'm looking myself at everything related to the countries. MOMOO does a lot on World Cups, I think he can need a helping hand. And anyway, it's a wiki, you'll always find room for improvments. The first one is in an article and a static version where we can add comments or other remarks or develop it even more if needed or possible and the other one's a part of the category tree. Skills are a key aspect of Hattrick, determining how well the players play, and what [[wages]] you will have to pay them every week. They also determine the [[TSI]] of a player.

In Hattrick, skill levels are shown as the terms ranging from [[Denominations|non-existent]] to [[Denominations|divine]]. In many situations it is convenient to use numerical skill values instead of terms, and these numbers can be found [[What The Words Mean|here]].

Skill levels on Hattrick are always rounded down. If you are interested in exact skill levels, check the [[subskill]]s page.

Players may need different Skills depending on their position. There are primary, secondary and some are even talking of tertiary skills.

For example, a [[winger]]'s main skill is [[wing]]; [[passing]], [[playmaking]] and [[stamina]] are secondary skills. [[Defending]] would be considered a tertiary skill.

The Hattrick community often uses ''a-skill'', ''b-skill'' and ''c-skill'' instead of primary, secondary and tertiary.

===Stamina===

[[Stamina]] is absolutely vital for any players. If a player does not have enough stamina, a serious drop in their contribution will be noticed, particularly during the second half of matches.

In addition to this main use, it is somewhat important for other players (see [[Special Event]] and [[Pressing]]).

The maximum stamina a player can attain is formidable.

===Playmaking===

Together with stamina, [[Playmaking]] is the most important skill for [[Inner Midfielder|inner midfielders]] and [[Winger|wingers]] played [[Winger Toward Middle|towards the middle]]. It is also used by wingers, defensive [[Forward|forwards]] and offensive [[Central Defender|central defenders]]. Offensive wingbacks use a tiny bit as well.

[[Wing]] skill refers to the ability to create scoring opportunities by advancing down the sides. This is obviously most useful for [[winger]]s (''a-skill''), although [[Wingback]]s also are able to profit from it. A [[forward toward wing]] will also benefit ''a lot'' from this skill.

A Winger who is given the order "Towards Middle" (WTM) is often an extra [[Inner Midfielder]] (IM) with a modest amount of [[wing]] skill. Drastically increases contribution to midfield, thus causing somepeople to consider the use of WTM as [[evil]].

Mostly [[playmaking]] and [[stamina]] are required. [[Passing]] and [[defending]] are used as well, just like an extra IM. Basically, a WTM should be an IM that you would play normal since both his defence and passing comes into play somewhat. However, the wing skill of the WTM can come into play in two ways.

== WTM and Winger Special Events==

Wingers Towards Middle are still Wingers, therefore they can benefit from Winger SEs.

How much wing skill is "sufficient" is up for debate. However, WTMs with very modest wing have been known to generate Winger SEs. There is no clear evidence that high wing skill generates more Winger SEs.

== WTM plus FTW and/or WB ==

If you are planning on playing a Forward Towards Wing (with high wing skill)in front of your WTM, and/or an Offensive or Normal Wingback with some wing skill behind the WTM, then some wing skill on the WTM can contribute to a modest wing attack without playing an [[Offensive Winger]].
