The Texas Consortium is the largest and 2nd oldest [[USA|US]] regional federation. TexCon is open to all those who were born in, reside in, or love Texas. They are especially dedicated to developing and promoting a successful community of teams from the HT regions of [[Dallas/Ft. Worth]], [[Houston]] and [[Texas]].

The federation is believed to be founded on February 19, 2003 by The Number Munchers. The oldest confirmed member of the federation was Group TNT who joined on February 20, 2003, but the club has since disbanded. The top federation office was claimed by the Texas Dragons (later Texas Nationals) in 2003, and passed to Los Guys in 2006. In the June 2008, following the disbandment of Los Guys, Necromongers of Oceania took control over the federation. Necromongers control of TexCon can be described as acrimonious at best. Several users objected to Oceanic control of TexCon, and were ultimately banned. Inexplicably, Necromongers stepped down from the leadership, and FC World Domination (one of the ejected members), took control of the federation. Though dispute over control of the federation ended, the damage had been done. By January, 2009, the federation's membership had fallen a height of nearly 70 members to under 25.

Recovery began in earnest when the manager of Angry Owls FC asked to be made Director of Recruiting and Retention. His efforts coincided well with the publicity for the Season 38 Texas Consortium Cup and by March 2009 membership has rebounded to around 40 people.

==Texas Consortium Cup==

The Texas Consortium Cup was first held in season 22 and has been held every season since then. TexCon VI was held with the Mid-Atlantic Community of Hattrick Owners (MACHO). TexCon XIII was held, in combination with the Oklahoma region, as the Red River Shootout. The cup is not restricted to Texas teams, but will give preference to TexCon members and teams from the three Texas HT-regions.

Though dispute over control of the federation ended, the damage had been done. By January, 2009, the federation's membership had fallen a height of nearly 70 members to under 25.

Slashers FC was the first international team in Hattrick, starting during Season 11, just prior to the owners of [[Cyclones]] and [[Kansas City Wizards]] abandoning teams in [[Sweden]] to join the newly formed USA league. Little is known about the owner's reason behind abandoning the club, but the speculation is that the criticism he received after his second term as NT Coach contributed to his lost interest in the game . The team were three-time [[Major League]] champions and also won the [[US Open Cup]], though this win came at the cost of their league title that year, rendering them ineligible for [[The Double]].

The Texas Consortium is the largest and 2nd oldest [[USA|US]] regional federation. TexCon is open to all those who were born in, reside in, or love Texas. They are especially dedicated to developing and promoting a successful community of teams from the HT regions of [[Dallas/Ft. Worth]], [[Houston]] and [[Texas]].

The federation was founded on February 19, 2003 by the Number Munchers. The oldest known member of the federation was Group TNT who joined on February 20, 2003, but the club has since disbanded. The top federation office was claimed by the Texas Dragons (now Texas Nationals) in 2003, and passed to Los Guys in 2006. In the summer of 2008, two users from Oceania took control of the federation. There was ultimately a dispute over control of the federation, and most long term federation members were either ejected or left voluntarily, forming a rival federation. Inexplicably, the Oceania leadership departed the federation, and FC World Domination (one of the ejected members), took control of the federation. However, by January, 2009, the federation had declined from over 60 members to under 25.

==Texas Consortium Cup==

The Texas Consortium Cup was first held in season 22 and has been held every season since then. TexCon VI was held with the Mid-Atlantic Community of Hattrick Owners (MACHO). TexCon XIII was held, in combination with the Oklahoma region for the Red River Shootout. The cup is open not restricted to Texas teams, but will generally only allow teams that are not from Texas or members of TexCon when they are required to fill out the cup.

The federation was founded on February 19, 2003 by Joshua Carkhuff, then manager of Number Munchers. The oldest known member of the federation was Group TNT who joined on February 20, 2003. The top federation office was claimed by the Texas Dragons (now Texas Nationals) in 2003, and passed to Los Guys in 2006.

As of June 2008 it's being run by two guys from Australia. How the current CEO got into that position is a little cloudy, but his subsequent actions are not. He posted a Fed ad on the Oceania conference stating that he'd be accepting Oceania memberships and trying to cram as many Aussies into the fed as possible. He put another Aussie in the 'second in command' position, and when their actions were questioned in the federation conference, the questioners were booted from the Fed.

The organizer of the TexCon Cup was one of the dissenting voices, and he founded the Texas Consortium Cup (TexCon Cup) fed, in order to continue the history and heritage of the original TexCon Cup. The TexCon Cup will be held for the 15th time in Season 36, and as has been traditional since Season 32, the winner will play in the US Champion's Cup series.

Members of the original TexCon are encouraged to join the new federation, and as far as the TexCon Cup federation is concerned there's no reason HT'ers can't be members in both.
