Berthlism is a school of Youth Academy development, that says one should concentrate on training a "star" - a player with highest potential. It is contrary to Zapasism.

Berthlism was created by Berthli during a conference discussion with Zapasiewicz.

Berthlism says one should:

- find the proper primary training by finding a "star" - a player with highest potential;

- find the proper secondary training by deciding which secondary training fits to the primary training of a "star".

The effect of implementing Berthlism to the Youth Academy is having a smaller number of highly developed promotees (with higher chance of developing an international).
