The Tacoz currently find themselves in V.1 after six seasons in Division IV.  Despite the setback, the club had high hopes for a quick return to Division IV.  The season started well for the Tacoz, as they earned 16 points from the first six games and looked to have a firm grip on the series.  A double loss to GasHeads in weeks 7 and 8, however, including a disastrous walkover, put the club's title hopes in peril.  They came back strong, winning four of their next five games to take a precarious 3-point lead into the final week.  The goal differential situation meant that the club would win the title if they managed at least a draw in the last match or if GasHeads failed to win, and the club succeeded by the slimmest of margins, managing a 4-4 draw while GasHeads won their match.  The Tacoz played a qualifier against Foxbears to try to promote, but fell, 3-1.

As the V.1 title holders, the Tacoz expected to be strong candidates for another title.  Three wins and a draw from the first four weeks had the club hopeful, but a disastrous 6-0 loss to Gimnasia y Esgrima brought doubts to the club.  The title race came down to the final match, a visit to GasHeads.  The club needed a victory to take the title, but the home side won the match, 2-1, and the title.

The Tacoz had a fantastic Season 43, running the table and accumulating a perfect 42 points and a +52 goal differential, finishing as the #9 ranked team in Division V.  The title was virtually assured with two weeks remaining, but the club finished the season in style with a 3-0 victory over rivals GasHeads in front of a capacity Tacoz crowd.  Estonian midfielder Vootele Rammo retired after the season, completing nineteen seasons with the club.

Season 44
The Tacoz have established themselves as a solid mid-table team in IV.19, accumulating 10 points at the midpoint of the season.  A disastrous run of form nearly doomed the club, however, as it endured a stretch of five league matches without a win, and despite a 7-0 victory in the final week, the club faced a qualifier for survival.  Thankfully, their opponents, Vincent Gallo Team, barely showed up for the match, as the Tacoz came out on top 8-1 and stayed in Division IV for another season.
 +
 +
Season 45
 +
 +
Season 45 has proved to be springtime for the Tacoz, and after four matches, the club had four wins and looked stronger than ever.  Ten tricky matches remained, but the club was hopeful that a series title may have been in the works.  Unfortunately, serious problems soon arose, primarily due to the club's weak defense against set pieces, and several losses followed due in large part to that deficiency.  The club did rally for points in the last few weeks to finish fifth once again, and they topped Oaklandish FC in the qualifier, 6-0, to remain in IV.19 for another season.
 +
 +
Season 46
 +
 +
Season 46 was a mixed bag for the Tacoz, as the club started out well but slumped in midseason to fall into the automatic relegation zone.  The club would have a bit of a resurgence in the second half, however, aided by a series rival going bot.  In the end, the club finished four points from complete safety and had to win a qualifier against Homestead C.F to ensure its survival.
 +
 +
Season 47
 +
 +
The Tacoz started Season 47 well, winning five of their first six matches, but two consecutive losses to Pearl Jam Evolution ended the club's title hopes, and a further drop in form in the second half of the season saw the club fall to third place.  Nonetheless, the Tacoz avoided a relegation qualifier for the first time in four seasons.
 +
 +
Season 48
 +
 +
Season 48 saw the Tacoz come out of the gate quickly with two wins, but their league form slipped as Cup commitments began to draw the club's attention.  The Tacoz would win only one of their next six league encounters (with two draws) and their title hopes were dashed.  Nonetheless, the boys finished the season strong, winning five out of their last six, including a victory against eventual series champions Palmiste FC, and the club managed another third place finish.
 +
 +
Cup Performance
 +
The Tacoz have had a decent Cup record for a club of its stature, losing few away Cup matches.  The club has reached the fifth round four times, the seventh round three times, and the eighth round twice.  The club's greatest Cup triumphs came in Season 28, when the club scored an extra-time upset of then-Division V club Roaches; in Season 36, when the club reached round seven for the first time; Season 41, when the club won three home matches and gave that season's holders, Pythons, a tough time of it in round seven; and Season 46, when the club reached round eight for the first time.  Overall, the club has a 68-20 record in the Cup.
 +
 +
Season 36
 +
In Season 36, the Tacoz had their second-best Cup run ever, winning six matches, including two home matches, before finally succumbing to Division II thaumaturgists, coincidentally the same club that eliminated them the previous season.
 +
 +
Season 37
 +
In Season 37, the Tacoz had a disappointing Cup run, as their first three matches were easy away victories but the club underestimated its trip to TROGDOR the BURNINATOR, losing 4-3.
 +
 +
Season 38
 +
 +
In Season 38, the Tacoz had an average Cup run, as the club won all four away matches, including a 5-4 thriller at The Voltron Force, as the team scored three times in quick succession in the second half to overturn a 4-2 deficit.  Round 5 would be their downfall, however, as they suffered a home defeat to their old VI.88 rivals, NTServer, 4-2.
 +
 +
Season 39
 +
 +
Season 39 fell into the Tacoz's usual pattern, with several easy victories in the early rounds before a tricky tie at Xtreme Gold.  Despite having a superior midfield and strong attack, the home team would take advantage of its chances and come out on top, 3-1.

Season 34 started poorly for the Tacoz, as injuries and an unfortunate loss to Twin Rivers had the club questioning its future in V.228.  An unprecendented run of success soon followed, however, including the club's first ever victories over Mosby's Rangers, and with three matches remaining in the season, the Tacoz appear on the verge of the club's first ever Division V medal.

Season 40
The Tacoz managed three victories in the Cup in Season 40 before falling at Earthquakes, 4-2.

Cup Performace
Season 41
The Tacoz have had a decent Cup record for a club of its stature, losing only one away Cup match in its history.  The club has reached the fourth round twice, in Seasons 30 and 34.  The club's greatest Cup triumph, however, came in Season 28, when the club scored an extra-time upset of then-Division V club Roaches.  Overall, the club has a 14-8 record in the Cup.
+

 +
The Tacoz had their best ever Cup run in Season 41.  After winning three away matches by a combined score of 19-0, the boys hosted Greenpoint Narew from Division IV, and dropped them comfortably, 4-2.  Round 5 saw a visit from more Division IV competitions, this time in the form of NY-Metropolitans, and once again, the club managed a 3-1 victory.  Round 6 put the club up against Division III's Night's Watch FC, and the Tacoz improved their record all-time against Division III competition to 2-0-0 with a resounding 4-2 victory.  Round 7 was an historic occasion for FC Tiki Tacoz, as the club hosted the reigning holders for the first time in the form of Division II's Pythons.  The boys gave it their best try, but the visitors were too powerful, winning 3-1 and ending a memorable Cup run for the Tacoz.

 +
Season 42
 +

 +
The Tacoz enjoyed a fine Cup run in Season 42, winning three away matches and a home match against Without NaCl, before superior opposition would come to TacozTown in the form of Sudbury United, who ran out 7-3 winners.
 +

 +
Season 43
 +

 +
The Tacoz managed a strong Cup run in Season 43, winning five matches, including two at home and one against Division IV competition.  The run came to an end in Round 6 when Division II's T Hills FC came to TacozTown and despite fielding a weakened lineup, walked out 3-1 winners.
 +

 +
Season 44
 +

 +
The Tacoz had another good Cup run in Season 44, winning five Cup matches including a home match.  Their run ended in Round 6, as a visit from Massive Inferiority Complex saw the club go down, 3-1.
 +

 +
Season 45
 +

 +
Season 45's Cup run was slightly disappointing for the Tacoz, as the club has been able to field some weakened lineups and be liberal with substitutions while still coming out on top four times.  The Round 5 trip to Mission ColdSpur of San Francisco, however, was the club's downfall, as they suffered a rare away loss in the Cup, 4-2.
 +

 +
Season 46
 +

 +
Season 46 proved to be the Tacoz's most successful Cup run ever, as the club won seven Cup matches for the first time.  The run was almost short-circuited in the second round, as a weakened lineup needed extra time to defeat Exousia, but the club soon found its stride, winning three more away matches to advance to Round 6.  The home portion of the run began with a victory over ShockerZ before the Tacoz would win their seventh match with a victory over Division III's NY Wahoos.  The run would finally end in the round of 64 with a defeat to Division II's Garden State Gnomes.
 +

 +
Season 47
 +

 +
Season 47's Cup adventure was disappointing for the Tacoz.  Three routine victories were followed by a visit to the stadium of FC FROMMI 1, and a tight matchup produced nothing but a scoreless deadlock for ninety minutesSix minutes into extra time, however, the home side netted, knocking the Tacoz out of the Cup at the earliest juncture since Season 40.
 +

 +
Season 48
 +

 +
Season 48 produced an excellent Cup run for the Tacoz.  A string of easy away victories was ended in Round 5, as the Tacoz were locked in a tight match with Shelby Maulers.  120 minutes could not produce a winner as the sides split six goals, but the boys did just enough to give the Tacoz their first ever competitive win on penalties, 2-1.  Two fine home wins followed, making seven on the Cup season, before Division II's Summer Knights managed a narrow 3-2 victory at TacozTown.

FC Tiki Tacoz is an American football club, based at TacozTown in Washington, D.C. The club currently competes in USA's IV.19 series.

Establishment[edit]

FC Tiki Tacoz was established on May 7, 2005, just in time to draw its first match, 1-1, in the final week of Season 25. The offseason and lack of Cup play in the following season gave the club the chance to establish a midfield training program, and before long the club was on the road to success.

History[edit]

Division VI[edit]

The Tacoz were placed in VI.88 to start, and tasted surprising success for a brand new club, finishing third in Season 26. The next season saw the club progress further, as the Tacoz finished a strong second with 37 points, falling only to rivals Costa SM but portending good things for the future. With Costa SM promoting in Season 27, there was little to stand in the club's way the following season, and the team cruised to a perfect record with a whopping +77 goal differential. The club's reward would be automatic promotion to V.228.

Division V[edit]

The Tacoz continued their success upon arrival in Division V, winning their first match 5-1 and posting a surprising third-place finish in Season 28. Subsequent seasons would see the Tacoz struggle somewhat, as V.228 has been one of the USA's strongest Division V series over the past several seasons. Over the next few seasons, the Tacoz would finish 5th, 4th, 4th, and 5th, at the same time cultivating strong rivalries with clubs such as derby rivals Mosby's Rangers, Hoboken Hitmen, Greedy Orphans Fighting and Biting, Twin Rivers, Mad Hools, and Lokomotiv United, aided mostly by the fact that few new teams promoted from Division VI were able to avoid an immediate drop (Mad Hools and Lokomotiv United being notable exceptions), while the fierce competition within the division ensured that no team dominated a single season enough to win autopromotion. Consequently, V.228 has seen considerable stability over the last several seasons, with only Greedy Orphans escaping to Division IV.

Season 34[edit]

Season 34 started poorly for the Tacoz, as injuries and an unfortunate loss to Twin Rivers had the club questioning its future in V.228. An unprecendented run of success soon followed, however, including the club's first ever victories over Mosby's Rangers, culminating in the club's first Division V medal. In the club's qualification match, the Tacoz traveled to the home of Sandecja NS and left with a 2-0 victory, achieving promotion to IV.8.

Division IV[edit]

The Tacoz landed in IV.8 for Season 35, and the club has experienced considerable success thus far.

Season 35[edit]

After nearly climbing atop the D.IV rankings thanks to a 10-0 opening week victory, the club had a solid first half of the season and put itself in contention for the series title. A stretch of poor results in the second half of the season, however, left the club in 5th place, and despite being one of the highest-ranked 5th-place clubs in Division IV, the Tacoz had a difficult qualifier against Ryno's Reds. The visitors went up a goal in the first half on a counterattack, but the home side leveled in the second half and won it with another goal in extra time to ensure another season of Division IV football at TacozTown.

Season 36[edit]

In the league, the Tacoz endured an up and down season but ultimately finished in 5th place and cruised to an easy 5-0 victory in their qualifier, ensuring another season of Division IV football at TacozTown.

Season 37[edit]

Season 37 was a bizarre experience for the Tacoz, as the club started slow, losing matches it expected to win, only to defeat the top two clubs in the series in successive weeks! The club eventually overcame a late-season slump that threatened autorelegation and won a six-pointer on the last week of the season to finish fifth before cruising to an easy qualifier victory, ensuring another season of D.IV football at TacozTown.

Season 38[edit]

Season 38 was an up-and-down season for the Tacoz, as the club won four of its first five games, only to stumble in the middle of the season. Fortunately, relegation was never really a danger thanks to the struggles of other IV.8 teams, and three straight victories to finish the season, including a battle to avoid a qualifier against rivals BoundToWin, ensured the Tacoz their first ever top-4 finish in Division IV and a break after six consecutive seasons of playing qualifiers.

Season 39[edit]

Season 39 saw the Tacoz start strong out of the gate again in the league, as the club maintained a share of the lead for several weeks. A dip in form near the end of the first half saw them fall two points off the pace, but the club remained in control of its own destiny as the second half of the season began. The club surged near the end of the season, but couldn't quite catch the champions, falling two points short of the title.

Season 40[edit]

The Tacoz were excited for Season 40, given their near-miss in Season 39, but their first match was an 8-0 thrashing at the hands of the champs, and the club couldn't manage a single road point or home victory, digging themselves a deep hole in the standings. Despite the presence of a bot team at the bottom of the league and a thumping 5-0 victory over the previous season's champions on the final day of the season, the club found that it could not escape relegation, dropping to Division V with a 7th place finish.

Division V (pt. 2)[edit]

Season 41[edit]

Season 42[edit]

As the V.1 title holders, the Tacoz expected to be strong candidates for another title. Three wins and a draw from the first four weeks had the club hopeful, but a disastrous 6-0 loss to Gimnasia y Esgrima brought doubts to the club. The title race came down to the final match, a visit to GasHeads. The club needed a victory to take the title, but the home side won the match, 2-1, and the title.

Season 43[edit]

The Tacoz had a fantastic Season 43, running the table and accumulating a perfect 42 points and a +52 goal differential, finishing as the #9 ranked team in Division V. The title was virtually assured with two weeks remaining, but the club finished the season in style with a 3-0 victory over rivals GasHeads in front of a capacity Tacoz crowd. Estonian midfielder Vootele Rammo retired after the season, completing nineteen seasons with the club.

Division IV (pt. 2)[edit]

Season 44[edit]

The Tacoz have established themselves as a solid mid-table team in IV.19, accumulating 10 points at the midpoint of the season. A disastrous run of form nearly doomed the club, however, as it endured a stretch of five league matches without a win, and despite a 7-0 victory in the final week, the club faced a qualifier for survival. Thankfully, their opponents, Vincent Gallo Team, barely showed up for the match, as the Tacoz came out on top 8-1 and stayed in Division IV for another season.

Season 45[edit]

Season 45 has proved to be springtime for the Tacoz, and after four matches, the club had four wins and looked stronger than ever. Ten tricky matches remained, but the club was hopeful that a series title may have been in the works. Unfortunately, serious problems soon arose, primarily due to the club's weak defense against set pieces, and several losses followed due in large part to that deficiency. The club did rally for points in the last few weeks to finish fifth once again, and they topped Oaklandish FC in the qualifier, 6-0, to remain in IV.19 for another season.

Season 46[edit]

Season 46 was a mixed bag for the Tacoz, as the club started out well but slumped in midseason to fall into the automatic relegation zone. The club would have a bit of a resurgence in the second half, however, aided by a series rival going bot. In the end, the club finished four points from complete safety and had to win a qualifier against Homestead C.F to ensure its survival.

Season 47[edit]

The Tacoz started Season 47 well, winning five of their first six matches, but two consecutive losses to Pearl Jam Evolution ended the club's title hopes, and a further drop in form in the second half of the season saw the club fall to third place. Nonetheless, the Tacoz avoided a relegation qualifier for the first time in four seasons.

Season 48[edit]

Season 48 saw the Tacoz come out of the gate quickly with two wins, but their league form slipped as Cup commitments began to draw the club's attention. The Tacoz would win only one of their next six league encounters (with two draws) and their title hopes were dashed. Nonetheless, the boys finished the season strong, winning five out of their last six, including a victory against eventual series champions Palmiste FC, and the club managed another third place finish.

Cup Performance[edit]

Season 36[edit]

In Season 36, the Tacoz had their second-best Cup run ever, winning six matches, including two home matches, before finally succumbing to Division II thaumaturgists, coincidentally the same club that eliminated them the previous season.

Season 37[edit]

In Season 37, the Tacoz had a disappointing Cup run, as their first three matches were easy away victories but the club underestimated its trip to TROGDOR the BURNINATOR, losing 4-3.

Season 38[edit]

In Season 38, the Tacoz had an average Cup run, as the club won all four away matches, including a 5-4 thriller at The Voltron Force, as the team scored three times in quick succession in the second half to overturn a 4-2 deficit. Round 5 would be their downfall, however, as they suffered a home defeat to their old VI.88 rivals, NTServer, 4-2.

Season 39[edit]

Season 39 fell into the Tacoz's usual pattern, with several easy victories in the early rounds before a tricky tie at Xtreme Gold. Despite having a superior midfield and strong attack, the home team would take advantage of its chances and come out on top, 3-1.

Season 40[edit]

The Tacoz managed three victories in the Cup in Season 40 before falling at Earthquakes, 4-2.

Season 41[edit]

Season 42[edit]

The Tacoz enjoyed a fine Cup run in Season 42, winning three away matches and a home match against Without NaCl, before superior opposition would come to TacozTown in the form of Sudbury United, who ran out 7-3 winners.

Season 43[edit]

The Tacoz managed a strong Cup run in Season 43, winning five matches, including two at home and one against Division IV competition. The run came to an end in Round 6 when Division II's T Hills FC came to TacozTown and despite fielding a weakened lineup, walked out 3-1 winners.

Season 44[edit]

The Tacoz had another good Cup run in Season 44, winning five Cup matches including a home match. Their run ended in Round 6, as a visit from Massive Inferiority Complex saw the club go down, 3-1.

Season 45[edit]

Season 45's Cup run was slightly disappointing for the Tacoz, as the club has been able to field some weakened lineups and be liberal with substitutions while still coming out on top four times. The Round 5 trip to Mission ColdSpur of San Francisco, however, was the club's downfall, as they suffered a rare away loss in the Cup, 4-2.

Season 46[edit]

Season 46 proved to be the Tacoz's most successful Cup run ever, as the club won seven Cup matches for the first time. The run was almost short-circuited in the second round, as a weakened lineup needed extra time to defeat Exousia, but the club soon found its stride, winning three more away matches to advance to Round 6. The home portion of the run began with a victory over ShockerZ before the Tacoz would win their seventh match with a victory over Division III's NY Wahoos. The run would finally end in the round of 64 with a defeat to Division II's Garden State Gnomes.

Season 47[edit]

Season 47's Cup adventure was disappointing for the Tacoz. Three routine victories were followed by a visit to the stadium of FC FROMMI 1, and a tight matchup produced nothing but a scoreless deadlock for ninety minutes. Six minutes into extra time, however, the home side netted, knocking the Tacoz out of the Cup at the earliest juncture since Season 40.

Season 48[edit]

Season 48 produced an excellent Cup run for the Tacoz. A string of easy away victories was ended in Round 5, as the Tacoz were locked in a tight match with Shelby Maulers. 120 minutes could not produce a winner as the sides split six goals, but the boys did just enough to give the Tacoz their first ever competitive win on penalties, 2-1. Two fine home wins followed, making seven on the Cup season, before Division II's Summer Knights managed a narrow 3-2 victory at TacozTown.

Profile[edit]

The Tacoz believe that in Hattrick, midfield is king, and the club has always prided itself on its ball-control game. The club has ridden its powerful midfield to considerable success, culminating in the success of Season 34, a season that saw the Tacoz put together one of Division V's best midfields. Later seasons, particularly after promotion to Division IV, saw more emphasis placed on attack, especially on the wings. Recently, the club has started to devote some effort into its defense, with its young goalkeeping talent leading the way. Currently, the club has a promising crop of defending trainees and feels that a strong defensive effort was the missing piece that has taken the club back to Division IV.

Culture and Lore[edit]

Not long after the Tacoz began league play, the club sought to become more than just another anonymous club striving for results but never getting into the spirit of the game. To that end, the club has attempted to make the story of the Tacoz an interesting one through its use of Press Announcements, player personalities, and orange wedges.

Press Announcements[edit]

The Tacoz have a long history of regular Press Announcements, as the club puts out a new release following every competitive match as well as on select other occasions. The club also produces an occasional series, Great Moments in Tacoz History (GMITH), commemorating important achievements and milestones in the history of the Tacoz. Since April 2006, every press announcement has contained a quotation from Estonian midfielder Vootele Rammo.

Vootele Rammo[edit]

Main Article: Vootele Rammo

Vootele Rammo was one of FC Tiki Tacoz's best players as well as the club's resident quotation machine. Acquired at the age of 18 from Canadian club 0-0-10, Rammo soon worked his way into the Tacoz's starting lineup and has served as the backbone behind the Tacoz's powerful midfield. He is best known, though, for his regular comments in the Tacoz's press announcements and has attracted a large following both inside and outside the club. Upon reaching the milestone of his 100th competitive match for the Tacoz, the supporters club was renamed "Rammo's Army." He now holds a place of honor in the Tacoz's Hall of Fame and was recently named club secretary.

Rammo Cup[edit]

In honor of their star midfielder, the Tacoz hosted the Rammo Cup from Seasons 36-39.

Flag Chasing[edit]

The Tacoz have amassed a considerable flag collection, including 60 away flags, headed by flags from Andorra, Georgia, Guatemala, and Liechtenstein, and 24 home flags.
