On 1 November 2018, fc kerkerpost played Lokomotiv Veltem Back-on-Track as part of the last matchday of season 69 of the VI.87 series. Going into the match, Lokomotiv Veltem Back-on-Track was leading the table with 36 points (goal difference +56) with fc kerkerpost three points behind (goal difference +70). A win by fc kerkerpost could thus win them the title. Third-placed Klub Sandwich was also on 33 points, but with a goal difference of +53 had only a very marginal theoretical chance of winning.

On top of being a title decider, Lokomotiv Veltem Back-on-Track went into the match as Unofficial Clubteams World Champions, turning this into a UCWC title match. Lokomotiv Veltem Back-on-Track won the match, remaining UCWC champion and becoming VI.87 winners.

Match report

It had rained all day, but 42863 hardy fans still made it out to sleschen arena. Arnstein Sjóstein was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Ignacio 'Nacho' Gomez and Didier Täuber. While a boggy pitch like this was an advantage for physical players, it really didn't help those who relied on speed or technique.

The following players had been chosen by kerkerpost: De Matthaeis - Saunders, Shavdia, Nağme - Axiaq, Pellattiero, Rieder, Puganigg, Sümbülzade - Feery, Udişteanu. The following players took the field for Back-on-Track: Ballout - Rebelo, Garardi - Al-Sadah, Van Lede, De Muynck, Van Keymeulen, Bilon - Zhivotnev, Paşcan, Otchigin.

fc kerkerpost started the game in a 3-5-2 formation, whereas Lokomotiv Veltem Back-on-Track lined up in a 2-5-3 formation. kerkerpost saw most attack opportunities on the wings, taking advantage of their world class (13) level with that tactic.

First half

The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Paul Puganigg from kerkerpost a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 27 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Back-on-Track took the lead 28 minutes into the game, making the score 0 - 1 after some elegant movement down the middle. George-Daniel Paşcan was the scorer. kerkerpost put pressure on the visitors' central defence 29 minutes into the game, but Todd Feery couldn't find an opening. The referee showed Back-on-Track's Qutugh Otchigin the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Back-on-Track's Helmut Van Keymeulen was shown a yellow card after 33 minutes for slicing down an opponent. The home crowd cheered when, after 37 minutes, Qutugh Otchigin's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. Herbert Rieder stunned the crowd with a brilliant counterattack from the left, giving kerkerpost the goal to make it 1 - 1. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to Back-on-Track, who controlled the ball 67 percent of the time.

Second half

The kerkerpost coach adjusted their lineup with 46 minutes gone. Hurşit Sümbülzade and Bastjan Axiaq assumed each other's positions. A mistake by the home side's central defence after 67 minutes allowed Guido De Muynck to score for Back-on-Track. The scoreboard now read 1 - 2. After 72 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Farid Al-Sadah who increased Back-on-Track's lead to 1 - 3. Qutugh Otchigin could have put his team up another goal 73 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. Kornelius Bilon was, after 76 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper Stefano De Matthaeis made the save.

Post match

The match ends 1 - 3. Back-on-Track enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 67 percent of possession. Todd Feery performed admirably for kerkerpost. Bastjan Axiaq turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating Back-on-Track player was without a doubt Guido De Muynck. On the other hand, Kornelius Bilon's play was disheartening.
