Overview

IFK Sälhyltan is a hattrick club founded by Viktor Ahbez. This historical moment happened on February 19, 2012. Team is located in Småland, Sverige. Future stars are coming from IFK Sälhyltan youth club IFK Sälhyltan U-20.

They started out in Division VI.400, season 48 and finished in 3rd place. During this time the team acquired a lot of new players, and a lot of original players was sacked, the team became a revolving door for players leaving and joining.

The team was known for focusing on a strong midfield in the early days with Ivan Traykov as the most prominent playmaker, the forward duo of "Abbiati-Sedeniussen" made big success on the lower levels with Abbiati as the defensive forward and Sedeniussen as the offensive one. On May 24th 2012 Sälhyltan completed an unexpected transfer when they signed striker Göran Uddborn from rivals FC Xsas, the signing was highly controversial since Uddborn had scored 6 goals for FC Xsas when they defeated Sälhyltan with 1-7.

Before the start of season 49 the team set as their goal to advance to Division V, they acquired Slovakian midfielder Rudolf Goban on 10th July as the last piece of the puzzle, he was the most expensive transfer for the team (2.000.000kr) so far and the one with the highest TSI by far. On August the 12th the team acquired new trainer Hayati Yaşar Yaldız after the former trainer Patrik Österlind's contract was terminated (by his own will).

Sälhyltan secured their first league title on August the 9th 2012 after a 5-0 win against porto.10, they played in Division V.733 in season 50. Before the start of the season they bought Julio Aulestia, an experienced defenseman, Eivind Sedeniussen left the team and was replaced by Jesper Jensen.

On November 18th one of the original squad members Håkan Olofsson left the club, he had been with them team for approximately 9 months and appeared in 31 competitive games. The team only won 2 games in their short session in Division V and was relegated to Division VI.838 prior to season 51 but the following season they were promoted once again to Division V, where they would spend the next 3 years.

On the 17th of August striker Dario Abbiati was sold after spending 545 days with the club and playing 64 games (club record at the time), he was replaced by Jürgen Dollinger. Jesper Jensen was soon also replaced in season 53 after failing to score in 6 games, Kalle Ljungén came on board instead.

On the 2nd of April trainer Hayati Yaşar Yaldız left his post after 6 seasons, he was replaced by former player and team captain Ugo Guillemot.

Sälhyltan managed to win Division V for the first time at the 20th of July, striker Jürgen Dollinger also broke a new club record for most goals scored in a season (23, although Henrik Adolfsson later tied this record in season 58) and also scored 3 hattricks (like the season before), although they lost their qualifying match for Division IV and stayed in the same league the next season.

Jürgen Dollinger left the club in November 2014 after appearing in a total of 60 games and a goal tally of 62 goals which was a club record at the time.

On December 13th the club signed legendary welsh wingback Brandon Carter who played several games for the Wales national team in 2010.

Forward Henrik Adolfsson joined the team early on in Season 58 forming a strong forward pair along with Kalle Ljungén. Sälhyltan were leaders in their division for a long time but finished 2nd after a weak finish when they lost against Ellene Panthers and tied against MILF FF.

Dario De Bettio left the club after season 58, he played 10 seasons in the club and 134 games.

The club came extremely close to winning Div. V in season 60 when they finished on the same points and goal difference as the winners AYREON FC, in their last game of the season Sälhyltan won by 6-2 but they were up with 6-1 just 5 minutes from the end of the match so if they hadn't let that last goal in they would've won.

Nevertheless, they advanced to Div. IV the following season after 3 years in the same division, then won Div. IV the following season in a suprising upset. The wingback Renátó Debreczeni who played for the club the first 2 seasons returned prior to the start of season 63. Their first season in Div. III didn't end so well, last place with only 10 points and the club saw themselved being relegated down to Div. IV but got promoted once again after 7 seasons.

Rivalries

Sälhyltan's most prominent rivals are THSC08 from Gothenburg, the two teams first met in their debut seasons (both started out in hattrick in season 48, Div. VI 400) after that they faced each other in the same league the following season, and in season 51 they played in the same league again.

Logos through the years

The current logo of Sälhyltan was used in their first season and was soon replaced before being brought back at the start of season 64.
