Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 53948 to The Railroads. Jan Jongbloed was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Armando Capero and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Back-on-Track's starters: Ćupina - Rebelo, Bergamaschi - Al-Sadah, Van Lede, Hahn, Van Keymeulen, Bilon - Paşcan, Otchigin, Razlog. The following players had been chosen by FCRM: Flehmig - Martens, Achimescu, Ullman, Speichiger, Portimojärvi - Beunckens, Baccarani, Bussetti - Barlex, Caridad.
Lokomotiv Veltem Back-on-Track fielded a 2-5-3 lineup. For F.C. Rafmans, the formation of choice was 5-3-2.
FCRM clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could, taking advantage of their brilliant level with that tactic.
First half
Back-on-Track had a magnificent opportunity after 5 minutes as Qutugh Otchigin hit the ball hard from the edge of the penalty box. However, the shot went wide. Good work by the FCRM defensive line after 6 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found Shayne Barlex alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide. Back-on-Track will have to do without Silvain Hahn for a time, due to a bad rib injury at the 11 minute mark. The replacement for the injured player was Guido De Muynck. 13 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for Back-on-Track to take the lead after a good cross from the right found Helmut Van Keymeulen alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post. 20 minutes into the game, a swerving free kick by Herberto Rebelo almost resulted in the home team taking the lead, but the shot glanced harmlessly off the frame of the goal. After 21 minutes FCRM tried to exploit their counterattacking skills, unfortunately, Kai Ullman's shot sailed wide after his break down the right. 0 - 0 was the halftime score. Back-on-Track claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 65 percent.
Second half
Some great play up the middle by Back-on-Track led to a chance for Herberto Rebelo to score after 55 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar. As the 60 minute mark approached, the Back-on-Track coach decided it was time for a substitution. Vice Razlog reluctantly made way for Nikolay Zhivotnev on the pitch. Kai Ullman of FCRM received a yellow card after 60 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to Nikolay Zhivotnev, but the Back-on-Track player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0! Always quick on his feet, Back-on-Track's George-Daniel Paşcan sped down the field after 69 minutes, but his pass to Kornelius Bilon was just a bit too far ahead for him to get a good shot off. FCRM needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 70 minutes Shayne Barlex made way for Mario Kempeneer. The score became 2 - 0 at 74 minutes into the game, when Back-on-Track were given a penalty which Herberto Rebelo blasted straight down the middle giving the keeper no chance! With 75 minutes played, Back-on-Track put themselves up 3 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to Nikolay Zhivotnev, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. 84 minutes in, Back-on-Track's Kornelius Bilon received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
Post match
The match ends 3 - 0. Back-on-Track had most of the ball, with 66 percent of possession. Back-on-Track's top performer was clearly Guido De Muynck. However, Kornelius Bilon made a disastrous appearance. Eleazar Caridad performed admirably for FCRM. Sedrick Flehmig on the other hand, had a terrible day.
