Suriname Season 39, or Global Season 64, was the fourth season in which Rode Ster Paramaribo participated, and the second after the restart. They played in League III.3.
Season Synopsis
Stadium
The Rode Ster Paramaribo stadium, the Karl Marx Arena, had 17.000 seats at the beginning of the season. It was upgraded to 27.250 seats in week 7. Finally, an upgrade to 42.000 seats was started in week 13.
Season Summary
The team had no specific ambitions in this season, since it was just recreated one season earlier. The goal was to continue rebuild a new stable first team. The team finally ended on a third position. The team participated in the Suriname Cup, and was eliminated in the second round. After that, they played in the Ruby Cup untill the third round in week 5, where they lost to Sin City Scorpio's.
In the competition, the team contineously performed in the top-4 of the competition, especially after an important victory against Wayamboweg Arawak's on Matchday 4. However, the team was uncapable to win the return match on Matchday 11 as well, and had to abandon hopes for a second place in the competition. Most games were against bot teams, and were won. In the end, the team finished third.
Youth Pulls
Season 64 saw a number of important new players added to first team. Rajesh Seedorf, Rodney Bourne and Walter Faverey became first team players for Rode Ster Paramaribo, while Robert Engel enjoyed a few training sessions before being transferred away.
