  • All the images needed (flag, coat of arms, map) can be obtained from the country's page at Wikipedia.

Heh, I was just about to write that ;) Anyway, it's worth noting that parameters can be left empty, which could be very useful for htt_offset so you don't have to write +0 or something. --Catalyst2950 07:57, 25 November 2005 (UTC)

We have a problem. The "link to map" is below the zone, and I feel that it should represent, well, the map of the zone. That's logical. The country is highlighted anyway. What do we do now? --Catalyst2950 08:20, 25 November 2005 (UTC)

Well, it seems logical to me to be there but if someone can find a better spot... we'll change the template. As long as the vars remain, there should be no problem.--Serafimul 08:26, 25 November 2005 (UTC)

I don't understand Wiki tables, so I can't change it. But I would add the map link above the Zone section, and make sure it clearly states that it's a Google maps link so people don't click accidentally. --Catalyst2950 08:31, 25 November 2005 (UTC)

Done.--Serafimul 08:46, 25 November 2005 (UTC)

can someone sort things out so the stuff I have added doesn't duplicate on all pages, but does appear on those pages with no more info. Still new to this wiki lark! --Dancing rob

I have used this template in España and in my opinion we should encourage the use of this template (and others) when documenting the wiki. Perhaps we could follow (up to some point) the guidelines at the wikimedia Help:Template page, and add an explanation of how to use this template and its parameters to this talk page. It would make it easier to use, i think.

--duno7 20:27, 25 November 2005 (UTC)

Please don't use templates for testing as it affects a lot of pages. Use Meta:Sandbox instead. If some of the parameters are not clearly enough explained above, point them and hopefuly someone will try to explain better.--Serafimul 21:04, 25 November 2005 (UTC)

I have just added the Empty sintax code, to make it easier for copy and pasting purposes, and also structured this document a little. I would suggest that we should use some kind of guidelines such as the use of images from Wikipedia, and such.

Another issue I think we need to solve is the way we handle links to internal pages of the wiki: I would suggest to make pages only for the zone and top_serie_name items, not for the national coaches or the continent. Perhaps this could be done within the template, so the template-user does not need to add square brackets to the parameters (and instead the "logic" is on the template)? --duno7 17:26, 26 November 2005 (UTC)

I don't think spaces are allowed on the beginning on each line, as they indicate preformatted text... Or am I missing something? --Catalyst2950 17:51, 26 November 2005 (UTC)

I am not really sure, that could be the case. If you have the time to test it, and it doesn't work, then feel free to remove them, obviously! --duno7 17:55, 26 November 2005 (UTC)

Addendum: it also seems that the parser can't understand a template is being called unless the first pipe is immediately after the template name. This would work:

{{Infobox Country |
  full_local_name   = foo
| name_(english) = bar
| image_flag = quux

Please confirm. I might be doing something wrong. --Catalyst2950 17:59, 26 November 2005 (UTC)

You are right about the pipe after the template name, i have corrected it to reflect the changes: it would not work otherwise. Regarding the white spaces at the beginning of the line, i think they can be used safely after some testing at España. But confirmation would be much appreciated! --duno7 18:08, 26 November 2005 (UTC)

Tested on Hrvatska and confirmed. Works like a charm now! :) --Catalyst2950 18:21, 26 November 2005 (UTC)

Used it on USA and it works quite well. One question though: what's the site that was used to generate the Romania map image?

--Catalyst 22:50, 26 November 2005 (UTC)

  • Ah, I see... it's from the main wiki.

I added a field for the national cup for now, but if anyone has a problem with adding that then feel free to let us know. --Catalyst 00:38:01, 2005-12-01 (UTC)

What is the meaning of the 'Season field'?

  • In HT we have something like a 'global season #', currently season27. This # is displayed in Sweden and in the leagues which are created in season11 (e.g. Italy, USA, Germany).
  • 'local season #' in the most other leagues
  • 'inaccurate season #s' in some countries (e.g. Bulgaria, created in the 'global season18', 'local season11' is displayed on the league page in HT, but it should be 'season10') --Shyrlden 12:35, 1 December 2005 (UTC)

So, IMO the actually size of maps i infobox (290px) is bad - 'cause the table is too width... I think 250px will be better...
