Team template

I note that you edited the club template filling in your club details. This is not correct, you should create a new page referencing the template instead. I've reverted the template page, but you can still recover your info from the page history. --Mr Wednesday 22:43, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

Welcome, and thanks for your interest in the Hattrick Wiki.

First, regarding your question about creating a club page. As Wednesday said, the template should be referenced on your club page. To reference a template, put the name of the template between two { symbols on either side. For instance, to reference the club template, you would write {{club}}. There are also a number of parameters for this particular template. To input values for those, you would write

{{club |
  | teamname =
  | teamid =
  | logouri =
  | htuser =
  | country =
  | region =
  | arena =
  | fanclub =

and input values after the equal sign on each line. For an explanation of what to put for each value, view the Discussion page for this template. You will find that almost all templates have an explanation of usage on the discussion page for the template.

Now, regarding reversion of edits. To revert an edit that you made, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the History tab at the top of the page
  2. Click on the Timestamp for the version immediately prior to your edit
  3. Once on the old page, click the Edit tab at the top of the page
  4. Type "revert" or simply "rv" in the Summary textbox below the page code
  5. Click the Save button at the bottom of the page.

For instance, to revert your changes to Template:Club, you would (1) click on the History tab at the top, (2) click on the Timestamp which reads "2006-04-09 06:04:11," since that edit was immediately prior to your edit, (3) click the Edit tab once on this older version of the page, (4) type Revert in the summary box, and (5) click save at the bottom of the page. Since Wednesday has already done this, it does not need to be done.

One other thing to note about reverting: if you are reverting more than one edit (i.e. more than one edit has taken place since the version you are reverting to), please indicate the version you are reverting to by copy-pasteing the timestamp of the version into the summary box (step 4 of the revert process). So, the summary box should read something like "rv to 2006-04-09 06:04:11" when you revert more than one edit. This isn't required, but it does make it easier to keep track of reverts.

Anyway, sorry I was so long-winded, but I hope it helps. If you have any other questions, feel free to leave a note on my Talk page or HT-mail me in game.

How to make a new page

You make a new page by navigating to it — you can do this by entering it in the search box, typing the URL in the address bar, or by making an internal link to it and following the link. I think the "recommended" way to make team pages now is to put them in the user namespace, see Help for details, although there are a lot of team pages that are not set up that way (and, aside from clutter, it's not a huge issue because HT forces team names to be unique). --Mr Wednesday 23:15, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

Re: Congratulations

Thank you very much... I'm just excited that the wiki finally has admins. It's been a long time in coming, over a year now we've been needing them :-). Anyway glad to see you've taken to wiki editing, it's certainly a very useful tool to use. --Catalyst 18:20:13, 2006-11-02 (UTC)

The team I manage Wincobank Ironopolis plays in the utopian paradise of the Sheffield Soviet Socialist Republic. Would this be clased as an unoffical HT country? --FFHF-Escafeld 19:07, March 15, 2007 (UTC)

I don't understand what it really is? But the unofficial HT-countries are countries or regions in the world who aren't recognized by Hattrick. But tell me more about it, i'm interested, but my english is not so well! Mavuba 19:13, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

New player policy proposal

Dear Escafeld, as you are an experienced an active user of the hattrick wiki, I was wondering if you would like to comment or at least vote on the latest new proposal regarding player names at Hattrick talk:Player#Proposal: adapt non-notability criteria? In short: the proposal is to remove to subdirectory requirement for non-notable players. Thanks! --Pelotas (talk) 20:24, 18 November 2014 (CET)
