The dotnetification, or rewriting the site into ASP.NET was a rather huge project that Hattrick officially announced on the 21st of February 2008.

The main purpose of the project was to rewrite the old .asp (Active Server Pages) code into the more modern .NET platform, partly to clean up the old legacy code, but also to better be able to introduce new features in the future.

The project lasted for almost 10 months, until another editorial named Welcome to the modern world was published on the 9th of December 2008. The project included a total redesign of the interface to the game.
