Belgian Season 39, or Global Season 52, was the thirteenth full season in which Red Star Brussels participated, and the eleventh in which they participated as Red Star Brussels (before, they used to be known as Red Star Gent). They played in League V.231.

Season Synopsis

Name

The team continued with his name Red Star Brussels, or the official name SVV Red Star Brussels.

Stadium

The Red Star Brussels stadium, the Leon Trotski Stadium, had 53.000 seats at the beginning of the season, and was not enlarged.

Season Summary

The ambition of the team this season was to achieve at least a fourth position in the League, and attain the fifth round in the Belgian Cup. The latter objective was reached after the team defeated Mokka Juniors in the fourth round of the Cup with an unexpected 2-5. The team finally reached the seventh round, where they lost to Hattrick Legends RSC Tifosi.

In the competition, RSB was capable of remaining in the upper half of the table for most of the season, never risking the degradation places. In the end, they reached the second place in the competition.

Second Team Creation

Following the decision by Hattrick to allow Platinum Members to create a second team in Hattrick, Red Star Brussels went Platinum the very same day. We greeted this occasion wholeheartedly, and asked for a Second Team in Suriname, Paramaribo. The team's name would be Rode Ster Paramaribo, and started operation in Season 52.
