I would like to start a discussion here about the term "GameMaster".

It has been discussed among LAs, and th eopinion was that the corretc Englush spelling would be "Game Master".
Therefore, my opinion would be to respect the "Game Master" spelling - and incidentally to correct all occurrence of the term according to this also on the Hattrick website.

I will not edit the current page until we are sure there is a consensus about this opinion. Please feel free to express your opinion here.

:I think we should adapt the use of all language in the wiki to the HT site itself (e.g. using county names as they are used in the countries themselves). In this way we prevent different versions of the same word in the HT community. Because GameMaster as well as Gamemaster are used in HT, there still will be a choice. I think GameMaster is the most logic one, since it makes clear that is it a special word, it is more clear for users that speak languages that aren't used to merge words and it fits the abbreviation GM. --[[User:Susande|Susande]] 15:21, 4 December 2005 (HT-time)

Computer programmers often tend to avoid spaces and I bet if you ask some other members of the team, they probably prefer Game_Master over Game Master :)

Also, as the abbreviation is GM, it is actually quite logical to write both G and M as capital letters. Of course GameMaster is not correct English, that is more than clear, but I don't regard it as an English wor but as a title. As a speacial word that can be written in the way that is most suitable for it. I dislike both, the dividing the word on two lines in text and not capitalising the M that is capitalized in the abbreviation.

Programmers would tend to write gameMaster, as it adheres to standards and is easier to read (in 1000+ lines of code - don't ask me me why, it just is) than GameMaster. Spaces, ie Game Master are no go when programming, so g33ks will tend to stick with gameMaster. 

I know I would.

GM is too short for any programming language. It's the way of the world.

if gameMaster would be a variable name, then yes, but it looks more like a class name to me... :)
