Benin began international play in qualifying for [[World Cup XI]]. The team has never advanced out of qualification; their best finish is 7th in their group in qualification for [[World Cup XII]] and [[World Cup XIII]].

Benin began international play during the final rounds of [[U-20 World Cup X]]. The team's first official competition was in qualifying for [[U-20 World Cup XI]]. Despite their young age and small user base, Benin scored a shocking upset in advancing to Round II of [[U-20 World Cup XII]] under the management of [[User:Cortomaltese|Cortomaltese]], in only their second entry into the competition. Cortomaltese is attempting to repeat the feat in [[U-20 World Cup XIII]]. In recent times, [[User:Lee_QdM|Lee_QdM]] has also managed to qualify Benin for the [[U-20 World Cup XXVIII]] in Sweden. [[User:Fr4nz_QdM|Fr4nz_QdM]] finally succeeded in repeating Lee's "deeds" in the current mandate ([[U-20 World Cup XXVIII]], Kazakhstan).
