| The first edition of this cup used group format similar to the [[World Cup]], but since then has been reformatted as a single-elimination tournament in which teams play each other in one-off matches, with extra time and penalty shootouts used to decide the winner if necessary. Teams are seeded based on their league rank the week prior to the cup beginning.
