History

The club was formed way back on the 26/12/2008, under the original name Peaks Works United FC. With only 2 fixtures remaining in the current season. Unsuprisingly, despite the managers lack of knowlage, the team won their first game, a steady 1-0. The scorer being Matty Hornabrook, who is now retired. The club went into their first full season favorites, they prooved everyone right by finishing the season undefeated in the league.

After promotion to the VI. The club has stayed put since, and finally in season 42, a real push for promotion finally begun. With the season not being over, not more can be put about, but an undefeated season looks on course for the team.

Cup History

Athletico have been lucky enough to be in the cup every season. Until season 42, the club had never progressed past round 2. But this season, the club were unlucky to be knocked out in round 3 by a far stronger team.

As well as the national cup, the club have also particpated in what is known as 'forum cups'. Three times they have been in the 'Early Season Knockout Cup' and once in 'The GMC Cup'

During seasons 39,40 & 41. Athletico participated in the Early Season Knockout. No times have they won the cup, but none the less, they do not field they're strongest squad. During season 39, the club were knocked out in the group stages, the winner of their group becoming eventual winners.

In season 40, the club managed to come top of their group and were put through into the knockout stages. After a hard fought battle, the club progressed no more, going back to playing week in - week out friendlies. In season 41, after playing a reserve team week in week out, the club decided to retire from the competition, allocating walkovers to the rest of the fixtures.

Towards the end of season 41, after their retirement from the ESK Cup, the club entered the GMC Cup. A private cup ran by a federation. Again, the club were unsucsessful only obtaining one point throughout the whole competition.

Colours

Under the name of Peaks. The clubs colours mainly consited of yellow, blue and white.

The teams most famous design from season 41.

. When the club first had the 'support package', the teams colours were a red & white, but soon after, they became the colours shown in the image.

Now days, the colours consist of a black & gold. The 'classic' design is one of the most dominat, and stands out. The clubs, unique, classic design is sure to be continued throughout the season. The club originally planned purple as the main colour, but when this design was introduced, they would have been stupid to turn it down!
