Torden FK (often referred to as TFK) is a Norwegian club formed 01.03.2004. The club has won the Norwegian divison five three times and the division six thirteen times. Their best achievement in the National Cup (Norgesmesterskapet) is reaching the forth round. They’ve also reached the semi finals in the Norwegian Consolation Cup. Their best ever achievement in the league is an eight place in division four.

TFK is located in the fictitious area of "Nyhøyden", just outside Kongsvinger, and is one of the oldest clubs still active in Hedmark. They play their home games at Nyhøyden Idrettspark (80 106), only about a kilometer away from their rivals at Nyhøyden Atletiske Sportsklubb.

History

The club was established 01.03.2004 by ht user Maggs. He made it a workers-club with special ties to the north part of Nyhøyden. The clubs name was Magnusia FC in the very first season, before changing to todays name the following season.

The first years (season 11-19)

TFK (season 17)

The Club, originally formed as Magnusia FC, joined the Norwegian league in season 11. The first years were characterized by a lot of activity and commitment to the club, and the team stay cleared in division five in their first two seasons, before beeing relegated to division six in season 13, only one point away from a safe place. In season 14, the club almost made a clean slate, and went through the entire season with thirteen wins, one draw and a goal difference of 76-11. As a result, they were back on level five in what turned out to be a fantastic season and a third place. Players such as Arno Bodineau, Patrycjusz Dobrosz, Ionut Ungureanu, Gunnar Erik Høj Pedersen and Steinar Berntsen are particularly remembered from this team.

In season 16, 17 and 18, the club held the top spots in their division, but then finished in sixth place in season 19, leading to a qualification match they lost. Once again, the club had to contend with relegation to division six.

Relegations & promotions (season 20-33)

Rune "Lynet" Nilsen scores again

The years 2007 to 2011 was a touch roller-coaster-period. Since the relegation in season 19, the club needed six seasons before they were finally back in division five. However, they were unable to survive and the next season once again saw them back in division six. In season 28 they were back again at level five, only lasting for two seasons before being relegated again.

The biggest triumph this period was reaching the fourth round in the Norwegian Cup (season 23). Never had they gone this far in the club's 9-year cup history.

Worth mentioning from this period are the two forwards, Rune "Lynet" Nilsen and Kenneth Solberg, who all together scored a total of over 500 goals. The former is still the only player to have scored 6 goals in the same match. An achievement he accomplished twice.

Time of absence - Ten years in the valley of shadows (seasons 34-68)

The period from 2011 to 2021 must be seen as the club's absolute zero point. The club organized a few random training matches here and there, but particularly from 2013 there were minimal activity, and only one training match organized during eight years(!). It says a lot about the lack of interest in the period. However, manager "Maggs" always remembered to log into hattrick regularly, making sure the team wasn’t kicked out of the system.

During this period, the team managed to stay in division five for a few seasons, before an eternal roller coaster journey sent them up and down division five and six. Season 41, in particular, stands out as a disastrously horrible season for TFK. The team finished last in division six with only a point. They went a total of fourteen games without winning, a club record still standing in a negative sense.

A new time (season 69 -->

Dorus Bras lifts TFKs first ever international trophy (season 70)

21st of january 2022 will prove to be an important day for the club. After over ten years of inactivity, the manager returns. Almost NOK 200 million is waiting in the bank, and a long-term course is staked out for the club. The new team is being built up slowly but surely, with a focus on the 3-5-2 system and midfield strength. A new long-term goal is also set: A maximum of five seasons before the club is promoted to division IV for the first time. Almost every player are replaced, and the legend Mohammed "Brosjan" Roshan takes over as a manager. Around the middle of season 69, TFK are in last place, but gets their first points after a draw. After this, the club climbs from last place to third place. The following season, season 70, the team makes sure to win all the games and wins the division and are once again ready for the division V. In addition, the club wins its first ever international title, in a play-off with 64 teams from around the world. A huge moment for the club.

Season 71 starts as expected. The club win some matches and looses some, but then towards the middle and especially towards the end of the season, TFK puts in a fierce final sprint that takes them from fourth place and into second place before one game remains. In the last round of the series, they climb to the top of the division and achieve their best season ever. Never before in history had they won division V.

In season 72, the club once again wins the division, but once again looses the play-off. In the upcoming season, TFK ends on a second place, but then finally in season 73, a direct promotion to division IV is secured, after a tremendous season with fourteen out of fourteen wins and a total of 42 points. The goal of reaching division IV within five seasons is accomplished!

Nyhøyden Idrettspark

Nyhøyden Idrettspark, season 74

Right in the heart of Nyhøyden, lies the intimate and feared Nyhøyden Idrettspark. It has been the team's home ground since it opened in 2004 and has gradually developed over time in both size and shape. From the first stands stood ready with a capacity of 10,000, to today's capacity of 80 106 and with the new enormous iconic glass roof from 2022.

With its own supporter's lounge, supporter's bar, VIP lodges, underground parking, swimming pool and gym, it can offer most things. The few times a year football is not played, it also features other cultural events.
