Tobinov was born and raised in Iowa City, Iowa. He lives with his lovely wife, and two boys, Jacques and Orwell, in Tacoma, Washington.

Outside of Hattrick, tobinov enjoys art, books, bicycles, movies, music, politics, travel, and, naturally, football! He plays goalkeeper for an O30 team in Olympia, WA and has the bruises to prove it.
