Overview
Brook Street Athletic is a football club which currently plays in the fourth tier of the Hattrick Scottish League and is based in the Angus town of Monifieth. The club was officially founded on 09 July 2006 in neighbouring Broughty Ferry, but from the outset it was always the intention that Brook Street would be based in the Angus town.
The club entered the fifth tier of the Hattrick Scottish League and played their first competitive game on 15 July 2006 when they crashed to a 5-1 defeat at league leaders Sheeps Eleven, Aitcheson MacNeish becoming the first player to score for the club.
Brook Street's first home game came the following weekend and resulted in another defeat, this time 3-0 against Jambos City, however the club recorded their first win seven days later on the final day of the season when they put seven past sashmo FC without reply.
Constant improvement followed over the next four seasons and resulted ultimately in Brook Street picking up their first title in Season 21.
Historically, Brook Street Athletic have tended to float between the third and fourth tier of the Hattrick Scottish League and has gained the reputation of being a "yo-yo club".
