Hattrick:Notability
The Hattrick Wiki is not meant to be a free host for whatever article you may like to create. First, the article has to pertain to the Hattrick World. But the article also has to be notable enough to be put in the wiki. To determine notability, use this policy.
Before Creating an Article
You have chosen a topic and you're ready to write an article. However, before you start writing, you need to determine whether or not it is notable, and if so what level of notability it has. Since the possibilities of article types are vast, the notability of an article is best determined by the subject of the article.
Articles about In-Game Teams
Hattrick gains many new articles every week, though the majority of these articles are about in-game teams. Since the community has to deal with a large volume of teams, we ask that before creating an article about a team, you take the time to assess the level of notability of the team.
Level 1 Notability: "Notable" Teams
Teams that achieve Level 1 Notability are deemed Notable Teams. To achieve Notable Team status, a team must have accomplished one of the following tasks:
I. Become national champion of the country at least once by winning the top level of that country's league system
II. Win the national cup
III. Reach the Final Round of the country's National Cup
IV. Spend at least three full seasons in the top level of their country's league system
V. Have a manager that is of Level 1 Notability in the Manager Article Hierarchy.
VI. Be granted special Level 1 Notability by a straw poll-format Consensus debate which must be posted or linked on the talk page of the country's main article (must receive a 2/3 majority).
Teams of Level 1 Notability may receive articles in the main namespace of the wiki, meaning that the title of the article will be the same as the name of the team. Level 1 Teams may also be listed in their respective country's category "Notable CountryName Teams".
To control the numbers of additional teams per country from increasing too heavily each season, the following restrictions are also placed on Level 1 Articles:

In the event of a violation of the seasonal limit, articles will be given priority based on their placement on the above list. Teams that place closer to the top will receive higher priority. These seasonal limits only apply for articles created about teams deemed eligible for performance during or after Season 30.
Level 2 Notability: Non-notable teams
If a team is not eligible for Level 1 Status, an article about that team may be created only in the Team namespace. In order to achieve Level 2 Notability, teams must:
- Exist currently within Hattrick
- Be managed by a non-bot manager
- Exist under the name used for the title of the article
Any team that meets all of these regulations may have an article on the Hattrick Wiki named in the Team namespace. Articles must be named as Team:TEAM_NAME (e.g. Team:Bremerton Bombers). Team articles may be created or edited by anyone, as is true of all articles. Simply because an article about a Team is created in the team namespace does not mean that the article has any ownership or partial ownership (as is true of User:XXX pages). Teams with Level 2 Notability but no Level 1 Notability MAY NOT create articles OR redirects to their team page in the main namespace, but only in the Team:XXX namespace. An exception to this rule is if a Consensus Debate establishes that the team warrants a redirect in the main namespace.
Level 3 Notability: Defunct Teams
If a team is no longer active and has been either replaced by another team or taken over by the server, it may still be eligible to receive an article. Defunct Teams may receive an article if they:
- At one time reached level 1 notability
- Have not returned to the game to manage another team with Level 1 Notability
- Left on their own accord and NOT due to a lifetime banishment
or, if they:
- Have been granted special consideration by Consensus of their peers
Teams that are eligible to receive an article may receive one in the main namespace. Teams that are not eligible for an article do NOT receive an article anywhere and any existing articles written in the Team: Namespace before they became defunct are subject to deletion without debate. A team is considered defunct when they no longer appear as the owner of their former team, after the seven-week grace period for users who have not logged in to their team. Teams that are locked due to bankruptcy are considered to leave on their own accord and are eligible to receive an article, so long as they apply to the above restrictions.
