Match report

The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 18765 had shown up at Groapa cu câini for the match. Mikael Hassel was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Remko Cissé and Andre Koederritzsch.

Lineups

Dinamo tactics involved an interesting 5-4-1 combination. Starters: Paskum - Versijpt, Okiko, 円谷 (Tsuburaya), Buffon, Abduholiqov - 竹下 (Takeshita), Cummings, Zubairu, Tudurean - Grobov.

A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Viitorul. They fielded: Criciotoiu - Stancu, Barczikay, Antonie, Groze - Sebes, Feczkó, Cociangă, Lăcătuş - Refec, Nisteriuc.

First half

For their match strategy, Viitorul had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. After 4 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Dinamo found themselves out of position and their organization level dropped to inadequate. Some beautiful plays on the left side of the field with 26 minutes played resulted in goal by Mirjalol Abduholiqov for Dinamo, putting them ahead 1 - 0. With the clock showing 35 minutes played, a great pass from the defensive line of Dinamo resulted in a counter-attack that was smoothly brought under control by Gianluigi Buffon in the center of the opposition's penalty area, but his finish went high. 1 - 0 was the score after the first half. The battle in midfield was tight, with possession split evenly between the teams.

Second half

The Dinamo coach might have gone through a whole marker putting the playbook up on the board, but it seemed to have worked, with the team regaining a solid organization for the second half. Eddie Cummings increased Dinamo's lead to 2 - 0, connecting with a hooked ball from the right. The away fans are claiming handball, to no avail. 52 minutes into the game, Dinamo seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a passable level of organization. 55 minutes into the game, Dinamo had difficulty finding their positions and their organization dropped to weak. Eddie Cummings had put in a good 70 minutes and left the field with a smile on his face due to his team's lead. Dragoş Ilina was the replacement. Kitwana Okiko stunned the crowd with a brilliant counter-attack from the left, giving Dinamo the goal to make it 3 - 0. With 78 minutes played, Soichiro Tsuburaya could have brought this one home for Dinamo as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. The Dinamo coach was happy with the scoreline, but still wanted to change the lineup. After 80 minutes, Bogdan Dănilă came on for Mark Grobov. Viitorul were doing a good job holding on to the ball, with 55 percent of possession.

Dinamo's top performer was clearly Mirjalol Abduholiqov. Bogdan Dănilă turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating Viitorul player was without a doubt Dan Nisteriuc. Cătălin Criciotoiu was a disappointment, however. The match ends 3 - 0.
