The TS penalty was introduced to penalise daytraders. Actually it was not. It had nothing at all to do with daytrading. That it hurt some kinds of daytrading was just a side-effect. Ok that is fine, but can you explain what was the reason it was introduced? Surely not just for realism? Yup. That was the sole reason. This was also stated in the information that was published at the time.
