Name

Name Rzyć Pospolita Oporowska KS consists of four parts:

  • 'Rzyć' means 'a butt' in medieval polish language or Silesian language;
  • 'Pospolita' means 'common' or 'vulgar' in medieval polish language;
  • 'Oporowska' means 'from Oporów';
  • 'KS' is an abbreviation meaning 'football club';

and has two meanings:

  • 'Rzyć Pospolita' means 'a vulgar butt', however 'Rzeczpospolita', which sounds similar, means 'a Commonwealth'
  • so the full name stands for 'Vulgar Butt from Oporów Football Club' or 'A Commonwealth of Oporów Football Club'
