The idea of unofficial championship comes from RSSSF Unofficial World Championship for football and the Hattrick Unofficial Clubteams World Championship Federation. The first championship match was the first match played between two Nippon human controlled teams. All of the official Hattrick matches (league, cup or friendly) between the title holder and another Nippon team (including bots) are considered Nippon Unofficial Championship matches. The winner of the match is the new Unofficial Champion. If the match ends in a draw the title stays where it was. Extra time and penalty shots are counted when a cup match decides the championship.
