The West Derby in Oceanian Hattrick is the fiercely contested matchup between the two Victorian clubs, Little River Lions and Fireupsuckers, whose rivalry began when the Lions claimed the western side of Melbourne, only for the Fireupsuckers to be founded just days later nearby. The clubs also represent different worlds off the pitch: the Fireupsuckers are backed by wealthier, upper-class families and fans, while the Lions boast a working-class, diehard fanbase that always turns up. At first, players tried to keep the games fiery but fair, but in the second match a brawl turned violent, leaving young Lions star Carson Almond with a traumatic brain injury that ended his football career. Since that day, every encounter has been intensely tense, with both sets of supporters holding deep grudges, making the West Derby one of the most heated and evenly matched fixtures in Oceanian Hattrick.
