An accurate cross from Ion-Aurel Bercea of Dinamo was met with a wonderful glancing header from Ciprian Tudurean, hitting the inside base of the post before nestling into the back of the net for 1–0. Florindo Murenu finished off a quick charge from the left of the field by chipping the ball just past the home side's keeper, making the score 1–1 15 minutes into the match. Marko Pelak had a good opportunity to give Baggins the lead as he charged down the right and struck the ball towards the top corner, but the home team's goalkeeper made the save. Dinamo took the lead 18 minutes in, as Bogdan Dănilă broke through on the left and put the 2–1 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave Guschti Beichler from Dinamo a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 21 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! The crowd was silenced 21 minutes into the match as the visiting team's Santtu Koskela came in from the left, levelling the score to 2–2. 2–2 was the halftime score. Baggins had most of the ball, with 62 percent of possession.
For their match strategy, Dinamo had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. Joaquín Ganogald's inexperience was obvious when his continual hesitation to put in a tackle allowed Ion-Aurel Bercea plenty of time to pick an unguarded area of the goal for his shot, marking one for Dinamo. 0 - 1. After a fatal mistake from the away team's right side defence 33 minutes into the match, an alert Manuel Bayo bagged the ball for Zaragoza, levelling the score to 1 - 1. Cristian Negoiţă was first to reach a ball launched long through the center from Dinamo's defence 39 minutes into the game. He managed to keep his cool and beat the goalkeeper to make the score 1 - 2. Adrian Juverdeanu made a superb strike after 43 minutes with a shot straight in front of the goal after a long ball through the middle, but one of the visitors' defenders got a foot in at the last second and warded it off for a corner. 1 - 2 was the halftime score. Zaragoza claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 75 percent.

55 minutes into the game, François Vignal was a hair's breadth away from giving Baggins the lead with a shot from over on the left. A prompt block by Barna Paskum saved the home team that time. Cristian Negoiţă finished off the counterattack of Dinamo from the left rather easily, making the score 3–2. Baggins's Santtu Koskela got himself booked for a foul. After 59 minutes, Baggins sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached François Vignal, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot – 3–3. The home keeper expected a move to the right, but Rasmer Rae surprised him with a free kick aimed the other way 60 minutes into the match. 3–4 for Baggins. After 64 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave Florindo Murenu a chance to increase the lead for Baggins, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 3–5. Possession in this half belonged to Baggins, who controlled the ball 62 percent of the time.
Zaragoza needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 46 minutes Adrian Juverdeanu made way for Artemi Bagó. After 46 minutes, Zaragoza switched Manuel Bayo with Pedro Ignacio Tous, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. Dinamo mounted an inspired counterattack down the right wing after 53 minutes, but Dragoş Ilina was unable to convert from short range. The crowd roared in delight as Francisco Lavín finished off a spectacular series of passes through the middle to even the score for Zaragoza 58 minutes into the match. 2 - 2. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Tanel Kivisalu got himself booked. The manager of Dinamo was not happy. After 73 minutes, a counter attack by Dinamo was converted into a decent free kick opportunity. However, the indirect free kick routine was easily anticipated by the defenders. A textbook example of how to defend a free kick - the attackers were left with few viable options. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Zaragoza, with 77 percent of the ball.

Dinamo's best player was Ciprian Tudurean. Cristian Negoiţă on the other hand, had a terrible day. Florindo Murenu performed admirably for Baggins. However, Joe Watchhorn made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 3–5.
The most dominating Zaragoza player was without a doubt Chusé Monis Beltrán. However, Tiberiu Dumitriu made a disastrous appearance. Cristian Negoiţă performed admirably for Dinamo. Jadinilson da Vila on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 2 - 2.
