A season corresponds to a hattrick year. The oldest league, Sverige, is currently playing season 95, which corresponds to the current global season.

Program of the season

There are 16 weeks in a season. 14 weeks for league matches, then 1 week for promotion-demotion matches and the last week is a free week, a week without a match on the weekend.
In the week before the first competition match, the first cup match is held, and these cup matches continue until one team has won the cup. In big leagues the last cup match is after the last league match.

End of the season

At the end of the season, and the beginning of the season some yearly rituals are done:

League plan

The league fixtures are based on position in season before. Numbering teams from 1 to 8, matches follow this plan:

Round Match 1 Match 2 Match 3 Match 4
1st 1 vs 2 3 vs 4 5 vs 6 7 vs 8
2nd 4 vs 1 2 vs 7 6 vs 3 8 vs 5
3rd 1 vs 8 4 vs 2 3 vs 5 7 vs 6
4th 6 vs 1 2 vs 3 5 vs 7 8 vs 4
5th 1 vs 7 2 vs 6 4 vs 5 3 vs 8
6th 5 vs 1 7 vs 3 6 vs 4 8 vs 2
7th 1 vs 3 2 vs 5 4 vs 7 6 vs 8

Rounds 8 through 14 are equal to rounds 7 through 1, but venues reversed:

8th 3 vs 1 5 vs 2 7 vs 4 8 vs 6
9th 1 vs 5 3 vs 7 4 vs 6 2 vs 8
10th 7 vs 1 6 vs 2 5 vs 4 8 vs 3
11th 1 vs 6 3 vs 2 7 vs 5 4 vs 8
12th 8 vs 1 2 vs 4 5 vs 3 6 vs 7
13th 1 vs 4 7 vs 2 3 vs 6 5 vs 8
14th 2 vs 1 4 vs 3 6 vs 5 8 vs 7

Old league plan

Before season 45, the old fixtures were:

Round Match 1 Match 2 Match 3 Match 4
1st 1-2 3-4 5-6 7-8
2nd 6-1 8-3 2-7 4-5
3rd 3-2 5-8 6-4 7-1
4th 1-4 8-6 2-5 7-3
5th 3-1 5-7 6-2 4-8
6th 1-8 3-5 2-4 7-6
7th 5-1 6-3 8-2 4-7
