| General training removal | 05/10/2010 |
| At the start of next season you will not be able to train general anymore, you will have to choose another training option. While we like the thought of managers being able to manage players’ form in some fashion; it shouldn’t be possible to do it constantly week after week. As such, we will remove this option for now, but it may return in another form some time in the future. | |
It has been replaced with the possibility to hire one form coach as staff member.
Description
General helped form by bringing the visible form towards background form more quickly. If the background form is lower than the visible form then it mitigated the lowering. It also trained goalkeeping ability to a very small degree.
The background form was never affected, so gains from this training type tended to be very short term.
General was always regarded as the black sheep amongst training types, practiced by those who do not know any better, but also by those at the very top of the game, where it could be a wise choice for those who needed to keep the mount salaries low by any means possible. Statistically, though 15% of users trained this, mainly because new teams begin with this training type as default.
Pros
- Helps foreground form
- Does not add anything to wages
- Helps gain form for an upcoming important game
- Quite easy to maintain.
Cons
- Unprofitable
- Doesn't actually improve your team at all
- Foreground form increases are lost quickly as background form does not improve
