Estádio do Westra is a football stadium located in the Sandnes, Norway. It is the home ground of Atlético Westra Football Club, commonly known as Atlético Westra. The capacity is 85,000making it the largest ground in their current league, VI.806. The stadium was built in season 47, but the fans were against building a new stadium. The clubs old stadium, Gasskammeret, were in good shape and the fans thougth it would be better to renew it rather then build a new stadium. Estádio do Westra has a record attendance of 68,951 against the seriesrival Dance of Death.
History
The stadium was opened 10.12.2011 against Pedros United. A game where Atlético Westra won 4-1. Viktor Lannerhall from Pedros United scored the first goal on the new stadium. Because of demonstrations from the fans the attendance of the game were only 58272 of 70,000.
The stadium went trough a unexpected renewal as the capasity were increased from 70,000 to 85,000. The board explained it with that the club had enough money in the bank, and there were no other expenses.
