Set Pieces
The Set Pieces skill determines how good players are at taking "freekicks" (direct or indirect), "penalties" and corners; there is also the possibility of a long shot event related to set pieces. Around 10% of chances in a game come from these events and having a set pieces specialist in your team will help you score from these chances.
This skill is primarily trained through Set pieces training, but there is a small effect when training shooting.
Details
Most teams will carry only one Set Pieces specialist on their team, who is also good enough to make the team through his other abilities.
Goalkeeper will use set pieces as a part when trying to save a direct free kick or a penalty.
Set pieces skill contributes less than all other skills to a player's TSI.
About 1/3 of the Set Piece chances are indirect free kicks.
Indirect Set Pieces
While in direct set pieces (free kicks, and penalties) the skill of the appointed shooter determines the chance of success, in indirect set pieces it is not a shooter/keeper matter, rather an additional team member is involved.

| From now on, your set pieces taker will not just fire off the big gun whenever your team gets a set pieces opportunity. Once in a while he may try to find a team member instead – making it an indirect free kick! Indirect free kicks are now a reality in friendly games and from next season (October) in all games.
Overall, you will get a little bit more set pieces chances than today and about 1/3 of them will be indirect free kicks. Read this manual to find out how they work. Related to this, your goalkeeper will use set pieces as a part when trying to save a direct free kick or a penalty.
