It is a well known expression amongst Dutch Hattrick players and it dates back to the first known match in The Netherlands where nothing happened at all in one half of a match. That match was FC Beijum - FC P.P.S. (2024243) and was played June 9th 2002. The name Grifo match comes from Grifo, the manager of FC P.P.S.
