Matchengine:

Major change required:

  • Make MF importance more resemble MF importance IRL.
  • SEs should be improved
  • SP should be re-designed. Direct free kicks are unnecessary, the rest should be more consistent with the skills used.
  • Add more tactical elements to game, like man marking
  • The tactical complexity is not deep enough.
  • Among the tactics, only CA is worthwhile
  • Improving cup system
  • Improving subs system
  • Make cup income fixed and equal for every round (must allow a one off free stadium decrease)
  • Make friendly cups arrangeable in game
  • Semi-random (or 100% random) cup draw
  • Conditional probabilities in the distribution of goal chances

Small fix:

  • Overconfidence works based on wrong principle, has too random/large effect
  • 3 IM penalty affects so much also on secondaries that there's no need for MS IMs anymore, only monoskilled.
  • Pressing and CA changes made defence training much better choise, with large profits now there is too good chances on being succesful.
  • Leauge fixtures
  • Drawback should be reconsidered as a whole, but as a start would be good to change a bit the chance to have it after 2 goals and in the first half.

Team managament annoyances (training, staff, transfer, arena, economy etc)

Major change required:

  • Speed up the pace of training multi-skillers by adapting the YA system for seniors.
  • Training design isn't complex or challenging enough. Also insufficient to build teams to adapt to recent game changes.
  • Money hoarding (old money)
  • Club fans are still stupid
  • Staff, bad feedback on effect from different staff persons (plus you set it once and that's it). Total re-design?
  • Prevent industrial trading (Yes, even more).
  • You have to use external tools for many ordinary things like history of players development, history of your training sessions, TS management and many other.
  • Bidding system - introduce Vickrey auction or similar type
  • Transfer search, be able to set "or" criteria and not just "and".
  • For senior players the same training reports as in youth (both on player page and training report page)
  • Indication for background form (player x, y has familiar problems or something like that)
  • Give people proper tools for valuing players
  • People need to be able to create their own multiskillers whether by multiskill, slot training, or a loan system (not neccessarily to human teams)
  • Don't allow teams to exceed a certain value (money + players), only do this after making a very good payer evaluation tool.
  • Transfer system needs complete overhaul: sensible bidding system, a search tool (now we only have a filter), and less variation in player prices
  • General training is neither balanced nor fun
  • Remove training level (set it to 100% for all)
  • Cup economy balance (make more money from training than from cup matches)
  • Change salary formula reducing the stepness and reduce even more the training speed at higher levels particularly for levels above 15
  • Make training league level dependant. A team can train a player in a skill up to a certain degree, dependant on their league level

Small fix:

  • Influence of stamina in youth pull wage
  • General training is not minute-based.
  • Names of fans' season expectation levels should be changed for less extreme ones, as they're misleading now
  • Search on the TL by form, agreeability, days (age) and “any speciality”.
  • Introduce wealth tax
  • Separation of goalkeeping and assistant coaches--what game function makes this separation necessary?
  • Coach type should be disassociated from coaches and made to stick to the team (prevent rotating coaches in GT teams).
  • Team attitude should be changeable only slowly over time, or quickly with some sizeable cost. In NT it should be changeable quicker in costless form.
  • You should be able to view the formation experience and TS/TC of other players or atleast have in-game tools to estimate them
  • It should be possible to raise one formation one level without playing it by 'training with it' during the week. With this, formations should not be playable at all with less than inadequate exp
  • Show sublevels of skills, popping and dropping have too big of an effect on price.
  • Promotion money, too little and also the same for all lower divisions (true for price money as well)
  • It should be impossible for teams to change coach during the last minutes or field players just bought into the team. A manager logging in 2-3 days before the match should already now all the players eligible for the match.
  • Arena is irrelevant after some years of playing.
  • Salary discounts for old players are too large.
  • Instead of Cash funds: 8 180 814 € (462 410 €), make it Cash funds: 462 410 €. It only confuses beginners.
  • Making people more aware that their training is not set in stone
  • Top scorer award (give player some extra experience instead of money)
  • Sponsors should give less money when a team Is harbouring cash.
  • The search-criteria should be listed on the transfer search result page
  • On the transfer overview page, add asking prices of players even when there aren't any bids from them.
  • When a team goes BOT all the players should be transferlisted for 0 euros

Youth:

Major change required:

  • Eliminate cards/suspensions & injuries for youth players - they make NO sense
  • Improve the relationship between what a scout is looking for and which player is offered
  • Make all youth leauges have the same size
  • Once a player gets into a team, reveal one current skill per week. The potencial could still be reveal as happens today
  • Set the training choice for each match on the lineup page.
  • First match after end of the league should be one week after the last match!

Small fix:

  • Broken stars (fws get more)
  • Looking for a new YA is painful. Let us order the list of leagues by number of free spots and starting day. Show correct starting date not the previous one.
  • Impossible to choose time window in the youth friendly pool.
  • Identify which region the youth was pulled from. List the total number of scouts located in a region on that regions page.
  • Allow scouts to scout international regions.
  • Some kind of indication about the hidden character that affects training speed would be nice
  • Linking between YA and senior versions of the players. Clicking a player in an old YA match cannot return "no longer playing" for players who are now in seniors.
  • Old league tables are needed
  • Update specialty on player page when told by scout instead of waiting for a trainer comment
  • Make YA health update times known
  • Youth players can reach their potential (yellow bar) without triggering a reached-potential-message.
  • Decouple the sort order of the player list for youth teams and senior teams.
  • In the end of the season, when we replace a team in an old league, and when this league is full, there is a presentational error that shows the former teams.
  • When we try to change the starting day of an old league, even if only for 5 min, the first round of that league is postponed for one more week.
  • We can't see the starting day and hour of the leagues, before the schedule is generated.
  • Allow the possibility of having a kind of super-administrator for the youth leagues (to create division trees)

Community/User interaction

Major change required:

  • CHPP
  • Better page for teams you support (like the series feed)
  • Chain conversations in the mail (like gmail)
  • Search function in the forum and in the mailbox.
  • Improve HT Press
  • Change GM/Mod system
  • Design an official mentoring system, where people can open their team up for full viewing to another user. Should have an interface other than HT mail.
  • The transfer price correction policy is seriously unfair and based on completely wrong principle. It should also be a lot more transparent.
  • Update wiki. (I know it's not under your umbrella)
  • Remove most social thingies. Add none.
  • Bring back the match chat

Small fix:

  • Easier to build the list of matches we'd like to watch in HT live
  • Not enough fed slots for Supporters
  • Make everything that hits your mailbox (HT-Rimenders, newletters etc) appear in the newsticker just like the regular htmails.
  • Add number in brackets to My hattrick not just for mails but for My HTs and Sys messages too.
  • Important community contributors should be officially recognised & thanked (locally or globally as applicable).
  • Not enough forum user bookmarks
  • Official post for federation moderators
  • Possibility to edit the title of HT Reminders
  • For commenting on GB-posts: please disable the textbox with the number of characters, and set proper tab-indexes.
  • Hotlist teams/users, teams that you would like to follow, but not to support.
  • I think that when you search something (eg a user), and it appears only 1 result, instead of having me to give another click it should redirect to the user directly.
  • Make it possible to see the current and the upcoming games for your supported teams

NTs, elections and Hattrick Masters

Major change required:

  • Elections - just floods conferences, candidates may start their campaign after the start, different rules in different countries (A real election system with tools for becoming a candidate needed).
  • Farm teams - let top class players in weak teams drop their skills faster
  • Remove NT/U20 competition.
  • Revamp the system so that it can be used from any number of countries.
  • Reform HM - make it run parallell with the league, a full season

Small fix:

  • Remake of the world page
  • Interface - finding a running match is difficult not to mention matches of other NTs
  • Fixtures - even worse than theleague ones
  • NT match archive returns an application error in the interseason (including the WC final and the start of the elections)
  • NT/U-20 matches have disappeared from the matches-list on player's pages since the introduction of the new ME a few weeks ago.
  • There's no auto-subscribe to the NC-forum for freshly elected national coaches
  • Free National Team fed so that non supporters can get involved in the national side of the game.
  • Several teams have a hard time finding national players (related to transfer search)
  • Coach changes should be made invisible up to 24 hours before the match and you should not be allowed to add new players, change coaches in the 24 hours before the match.
  • U20 coaches should be notified of high quality players leaving the youth squad/academy
  • U20/NT coaches should have a 'watchlist' where they can keep an eye on players who may be relevant to future campaigns. The owners of these players can choose how much to reveal.
  • Until NT/U20 competition is removed; reduce experience gain to a more reasonable level.
  • Contestants in HM should be forced to register their HM squad well ahead of the tournament
  • Neutral ground in HM matches
  • Bring Master, NT and U20 news, on first page with comments from managers involved
  • Make clear NTA rules and post'em somewhere
  • Make the maximum number of characters for NT newsletters 1000 instead of 500
  • Please start up 4 new countries to make the WC complete

Other stuff:

  • No regression test
  • Improve the testing procedure
  • Information policy (not mentioning all community knowledge in the manual
  • Too hard for new teams to reach higher levels
  • MOre open and better communication about bugs and ideas.
  • Improve official (voluntary staff) ticket system, so users knows what's going on
  • Historical league rankings, when a team turns bot it disappears. so its not historical anymore and kind of worthless.
  • The slow intergration of Alltid
  • More visualisation generally (in the manual, match preview etc)
  • The supporter package is giving in-game advantage and also contains several features that are necessary for playing the game and/or important parts of the basic interface. Remove those things from the supporter package while replacing them with community features.
  • The tools for scouting opponents are horrible. The bare minimum is to enable the tools supporters have today for all managers, but more generally improving this should be moved top of the priority list. That's what the game is about.
  • More logical interface.
  • Re-design TSI. Provide real tools for the things TSI is used for today (tracking form changes, injury length etc) and then replace TSI with something that better captures the skills/value of the player.
  • League rankings need to include also old teams. Please fix this also retroactively, otherwise fixing it is pointless.
  • Longer histories for individual players (probably fixed when integrating with Alltid; please do that and do it right)
  • Search tool needed for Message Archive. My archive has 45 pages and more than 1000 headlines; no way of finding anything. At least allow showing all of them on a single page.
  • Make the new higher formation experience levels to work on a linear scale.
  • Fix the thresholds for achievement levels to match the rest of the game
  • The box that flashes up on the bottom whenever I move the cursor over a player is really annoying.
  • Deleting an item in the supporter bookmarks deletes by position on delete time, not by playerID
  • Cup achievement points: not all leagues can get maximum points
  • Add a check box for bookmarks (all kind) to help multi-deleting, just like the mailbox.
  • If an old team wants to start from the beginning (but without losing achievements and history), give an option at the end of the season this team to go to the end of the series (VI, VII, VIII) and some other team to grab its place.
  • Create a supporter-skin, designed to highlight the supporter features.
  • Acknowledge Team birthdays and also with a reminder (for Supporters).
  • Scrap achievements
  • More game help (links to manual from various pages)
  • Create training games w/o training/income etc (support feature).
  • Show sub-levels for everything
  • Create internal lists for captains, SP takers and penalty takers.
  • Similar to the 'add round to live' option on the league page, add a tickbox for the cup matches displayed, with an 'add selection to live' option.
  • New player page design
  • The mail textbox on the team page is too small (and lack HT-ML buttons)
  • Invest some money in a new (non-deterministic) high-quality random number generator
  • Reintroduce the "current activities" list on the main page (lost with NewD)
  • Introduce the calendar again, in an improved shape
  • Team events: It would be nice to have the player's name and a link there always when a player is mentioned
  • Improve the manager licence.

Other really small stuff:

  • If you get a myHT message about a new manager who is beginning to support your club, his name should be clickable (link to his manager or team page).
  • On the national team page, insert a direct link to the qualification group page.
  • NT/U-20 matches still show the default kits in the report.
  • Rename old youth system
  • The 'most expensive transfers' pages are pointless if they are not filtered by some kind of minimum 10 000 tsi filter.
  • XP not visible on the players overview page.
  • Kit designer--the kit viewer doesn't allow you to change which kit from your previously saved designs you want your team to wear
  • Kit designer, jerseys for keepers
  • On the transfer overview page, add the percentage of money you get from mother club or previous owner players.
  • Training page: team XP list has no noticeable order.
  • The page "Supported teams" should show the total number of teams
  • Add HT-mail possibility to the user page

So far we've already dealt with some things in this list, such as:
  • Rename old youth system
  • XP not visible on the players overview page
  • Training page: team XP list has no noticeable order
  • The page "Supported teams" should show the total number of teams
  • Add HT-mail possibility to the user page

Naturally, more on this list will be dealt with (but absolutely not all, as I don't agree all suggestions are good for the game). Some are already in the pipe:

Experience event in latter cup rounds is broken I wouldn't say it's broken, but it can for sure be made a lot better. And that's also what will happen, we will deal with it during this season (or at least to the start of the next season).

Related to this, overconfidence will also be re-worked. It's not in this list (at least I can't find it), but it can also be made a lot better. Will also be done during the season or to the start of the next season.

League fixtures There is a forum post with a suggestion about this (but I can't find it right now), but it's about who faces who in which match round etc. We will basically amend this suggestion as it improves things. Hopefully completed to next season.

Let me finish this post with one suggestion which will not happen, or at least will have to wait:

Remove the golden goal I see no real reason to remove the golden goal actually, apart from make it more like real life. But the sole reason for why the golden goal rule was abandoned irl was that it lead to teams getting more careful in extra-time, rather than trying to score the golden goal teams focused on not letting the other team score it.

This is not the case in Hattrick, teams still try to score just as much as during ordinary time. The match doesn't get boring in Hattrick extra time.

Secondly, removing the golden goal will make more matches be decided on penalty contests. Penalty contests in Hattrick today are kind of so-so to be honest, and if you should remove the golden goal penalty contests should be dealt with first. But that's not really high priority in my opinion.
