First Matches[edit]

Team's first friendly went as it was supposed to, I guess. Sportfreunde was better, but fans of Merikarvian Lukko didn't expect much anyway.

Their first league match though, was very exciting to watch. At 49th minute it was almost certain that MeLu would take this match home: They were leading 4-1. Then suddendy [V.P] got some more power and made a goal and three minutes later they scored another goal. It was 4-3 now. Then [V.P]'s Jani Knuutila strikes again and scores yet another goal making the match even 4-4. 4 minutes later, at 78', MeLu's top wingman Stenzel Baudler got a cramp on his leg and MeLu had to switch him off the field. Not more than one minute passed and the game was practically over: Antti Vuola scored another goal for [V.P] and they won 5-4.

Merikarvian Lukko uses 3-4-3 formation the most. That's how they may now keep their best players on the field at the same time. Like their forwards: They have four great forwards, but only three of them play regularly and one plays in the friendlymatches.
