Group Stage
The Group Stage of the third Sealand Curaçao Cup ran from 11 to 25 September 2019. The four teams competed in a single group.
Format
The teams in each group played each other in a single round-robin format, playing the other teams in the group once (one match at home, one match away and one match at a neutral venue). Each team earned 3 points for a win in regular time, 2 points for a win after golden goal or after a penalty shoot-out, 1 point for a loss after golden goal or after a penalty shoot-out and 0 points for a loss in regular time. For goal difference purposes, winning a penalty shoot-out was rewarded with one extra goal (equal to scoring a golden goal). This point system is similar to the system used by the (real-life) IIHF for international ice hockey matches.
The two highest-ranked teams would play against each other in the first knockout round for a direct spot in the final. The two lower-ranked teams would compete against each other for a spot in the semi-final against the loser of the other match. The two winners of the first week were scheduled to play each other during the second week, to avoid a situation where the final group match would not matter for the matchups in the first knockout round.
