| In real life, Calvert is a former US Army sergeant in the military intelligence field, serving from 1981 to 1990. In 2001 he retired from the US Postal Service and is permanently disabled. Æthelmearc AC is named for the SCA's Kingdom of Æthelmearc, which comprises Western and Central New York, Western and Central Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
