Chiquesalunga United is a club that plays in league VI.462, the lowest division in the USA. Founded shortly after the beginning of global Season 36, it is now in its second season of competition.
The club is named after a region along the Susquehanna River in southeastern Pennsylvania that prior to European colonization the Lenape nation called "Chiquesalunga," meaning "place of the crayfish." Many present-day landmarks in the area bear names deriving from that term, including Chickies Rock, Chiques Creek, and the village of Salunga, among others.
In its opening season, Chiquesalunga United finished fourth in the league with a 7-6-1 record, and the club went 5-2 in the second half of its league schedule.
In addition to its league competitions, Chiquesalunga United maintains a full reserve squad, plays a friendly every week, and is open for friendly challenges. Chiquesalunga United has also signed on to compete in the Season 37 Keystone Cup, a friendly cup tournament open primarily to teams from the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia regions of the USA that serves as a qualifier tournament for the Season 38 U.S. Champions League friendly cup.
The club established a youth academy, the Chiquesalunga Chickies, October 4, 2008. The Chiquesalunga Chickies will begin play in an international youth league, the Eintracht Jugend Cup, October 12, 2008.
